Fortunately, I documented both my checkout and return with videos, otherwise they would have dinged me with phony damage charges. Had to follow-up with the corporate office, who were very helpful by the way, before getting my charges refunded. Took over 3 months but I finally got my money back. I will rent with National again, but not through this location. And I will always check with Yelp prior to renting any car in the future.

If you want a car with snow-tire (I. e. one that will stay on the road during a prairie winter) you might want to pay extra. $60/day extra. So, the rate doubles if you want to arrive at your destination, but is quite cheap if you don't care about arriving. I was assured that the company's insurance and the provincial regulation in Saskatchewan do not require snow tires. I am shocked. Not that they don't care about customer saftey, but that they care so little about their inventory of shiny cars. The staff were pleasant, and pretended to be powerless to help. I paid the extra, had a safe journey and will never use or recommend Hertz again.

Additionally the staff member who drove me home was great as well. Although interestingly it took us talking until I got out at my driveway to realize we had worked together 40 years ago. Got a 2012 dodge 1500 slt for 42,000$ ripped off. Over looked the body, bumper was off line, driver…read moreside fender was off line and rubbing on door, hood was repainted and fines is flaking off. 5 dings on body the hole bed is scratched and some indents, gas tank has a good dent in it and some passed 777 inspection. When complained owner/manager asked what he could do to make it right after finding a tear in passenger tire you could stick ur finger in. The list included. Touch up paint 4 new tires Mud flaps New gas tank Body work Hood replaced The owner/manger okayed it and said "4 new tires and 600$ mud flaps" ect. I brought the vehicle in and picked it back up from 777. I received 2 new cheap rear tires and 4 mud flaps at 325$ for the set. Every time I have called to talk with the owner/manger he had dodged me and was on vocation. I then had enough and threatened to sue. I highly do recommend not getting 1 thing from them. As I bought this ride it had no antenna and notice. The sales man stole me one off of a vehicle that was already sold. Thank "cars for less" for giving me and taking me for a awesome ride!
