love love love this place! they always have good records there and they have shows in their basement^^ i've accidentally caught some of their shows and its not a very tall space and rarely packed, but all the bands ive seen there have been awesome! good sound and atmosphere^^ the cashiers are always cool and ive rarely seen them without a smile on their face! im not a local (from sacramento) but i always make sure to stop by here whenever i visit sf. even if i dont buy records theres usually someone there who likes the record youre looking at and will tell you all about it lol very much recommended going here to simply enjoy your time!

This strip is awesome at Mission St. near Bernal Heights. I had never walked inside this record store and I thought it was so neat. It is a community-run record store with an old-school taste. It's not an indie hipster record store, but it has 90s, punk, industrial, classical, etc. It's got an interesting selection to choose from. They have volunteers working and it's cool.

One of my favorite vinyl record stores in San Francisco. Definitely their specialty is hardcore punk in obscure stuff like Code Of Honor, GISM and the norm like the descendents and Discharge. They also have a decent Metal selection of Bathory, Death and Darkthrone. As well as alternative, Jazz, R&B and classic rock

My favorite record store in SF. The prices and selection are great for the size of the space. I can spend hours digging for vinyl in there

I didn't realize it was a punk heavy store, but I wandered in and was absolutely amazed that they had a selection of 80's vinyl.

What a cool place!…read more You can find things from vinyls to comics, to toys. There is a whole lot to see. At one of the desks, I received a free postcard and business card--which was cool. I also noticed they have a Photobooth. I believe it's $7 for two strips.

I myself was on a bowling team named the Orient Express, and I wish I still had my red team shirt with the dragon on the back. But I digress as this has been an independent record store since 1997, an offshoot of the Berkeley store on Telegraph. Digital downloads be damned, this shop is focused on physical media...CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes, Blu-rays, and of course, vinyl. Even before picking up spares at Park Bowl, I recall that moment in my youth when I made the monumental decision to switch my record purchases from vinyl to CDs. Nowadays, vinyl is making a comeback among a younger generation looking for a higher quality, more realistic sound quality. I saw these Gen Z audiophiles flipping through the long LP bins in search of the elusive underground classic their stereophonic friends could appreciate and envy. Personally I could find nuggets of my own. Albums like The Very Best of Spike Jones (Photo 10) and The Complete 2,000 Year Old Man (Photo 5) resonated with me. I was happy to see individual LPs consolidated into boxed sets like the Linda Ronstadt retrospective. Beyond the music is the expansive DVD collection of movie titles both classic and obscure. There's also books and collectible merchandise like pop-culture lunch boxes and celebrity prayer candles. I'm not sure I need a candle that deifies Aubrey Plaza, but it's good to know where I can get one. RELATED - Exploring the Haight?
