Sometimes I just don't like crowds, sometimes I need to get something done - like work, sometimes I just can't stand people. Then there's the time when my frontal temporal lobes are craving that God thing. Maybe I just need to hang with others. The Journey Church (of which there are a number in the Denver metro area - this one has been meeting at Front Range Community College - Westminster for over ten years and has no affiliation with the others) is a small to moderate sized group of people who let you be you. That is my idea of church. But its way more different than that. Sure there's free food and coffee, etc. Yah, they've got chairs facing front and a band - really cool, honest Irish drummers, etc. The 3 leaders - Jackie - yes, she's a woman, Rob and Michael are down to earth - good people. Married with children. Yah, sometimes there's some yapping at the back of the meeting room - hey, it's a college - people get up and get coffee in the middle of whatever is going on. There's always a movie clip - something new and relevant to the topic of the day. For a moment, you're not in "church". You're in your living room, watching a clip from a movie you really enjoyed. The leaders are humble and admit their frailties - now that's a bit different. Also people do other stuff in this church. Dive - that's the food bank work. Theology on Tap - love that one - we meet once a month at a bar and talk about just about anything. Feeding the homeless and helping those in the Journey who need help. The Vault - women talking women stuff. Other things haven't investigated. Sundays, of course at Front Range Community College in Westminster - two services - 9:30 and 11:00 - child care at both - dress is casual, and of course, coffee! Anyway, after growing up Catholic, marrying a Protestant and neither of us going to church, Journey is where I meet good people, get that God connect and my wicked donut fix. Oh, yah, I feel loved here.

I recently attended a car care clinic for single moms that was put together and sponsored by this…read morechurch. I am a single mom, I am going to school full-time and currently in-between jobs, so I don't have a whole lot of money. My car has over 200,000 miles on it and I do my best to keep it maintained. That said, it's got some issues. I brought it to the car care clinic and I was amazed at how many people/businesses volunteer their time for this event! After inspection, the head mechanic determined that my care needed to be more thoroughly inspected and told me to call Big O and make an appointment to have it checked out. I think it is really awesome that the guys at this Church put together this event and everyone involved were all very friendly and respectful. Being a single mom and full time student that is in-between jobs, I greatly appreciate things like this. Car Care is very expensive and I depend on my car so very much and without it, things would be very, VERY difficult. Because of these incredibly generous and awesome people, I am getting a complete brake job and a new windshield. I also know what other work my car needs done, so I can plan toward that goal . We felt welcome as a family at True Life as we were approached by several others who wanted to make us feel at home. We really like this church.

She looked so hateful and clearly needed prayers because she was mean. I've experienced this couple other times before from members not being kind to new people. Beware of this and did not feel the love in the congregation.
