I felt like another number on a list. Every time I wanted to ask a question or just have polite conversation she would interrupt me and say "sorry for interrupting you but..." She came off as a car salesman only focusing on the price of the products. Which to me were not as expensive as I initially thought. Yet she kind of acted like I couldn't afford it. I did not want to do the replacement that same day and I wanted to reschedule. It seemed like she didn't like the fact that I would call and set up a specific time. I also asked about how long the procedure would take, mind you with her interrupting me the whole time and trying to finish my sentences. I tried to explain that I have allergies and super sensitive teeth and she answered with super quick not thought out responses. She just came off as soulless. Honestly, maybe it was a bad day for her, we are all stressed out with the pandemic. But after that experience I cannot imagine what the actual appointment will be like. My periodontal journey began with LANAP, then aligners for those bad boys, and finally a gum tunneling procedure that takes an incredible amount of skill to execute correctly. While gum tunneling is considered "minimally invasive," I don't think it should ever be taken lightly when it comes to WHO performs it. This is one of those procedures where experience, precision, and artistry matter tremendously, and this woman IS a surgical artist. I was pretty nervous the week leading up to surgery, having built this procedure up in my head as a huge and painful event. Instead, the entire experience felt like relaxing girl talk while the Queen of Dentistry worked her magic. Before I knew it, I was done. The craziest part? I walked out smiling, feeling amazing, and you genuinely couldn't even tell I had just undergone periodontal surgery. Yes...really. The recovery pain was surprisingly minimal considering what I had done. The realization of no longer having gums that felt like frickin' tissue paper and finally correcting my bizarre gingival defect has been eye-opening. You don't realize what your mouth has been missing until it's finally healthy again! The difference has TRULY been life-changing and I feel like my mommy makeover has been completed with exceptional results. My only complaint? The stitches weren't available in neon pink or glitter (tee hee, just kidding!)
