As long as you know what's best for you , nothing or nobody can make you feel bad especially when they play victim. I've distanced myself from all of this and I pick and choose who I want in my life. I can't control who will try to come back into my life after years of damage and with them bringing in negative energy so what I do is I will walk away! That's the best. No words , no need to explain A THING, but to just move forward by walking away and it will place them in their place . Some people aren't good and unfortunately will find a way to try to connect with you when they see you as an opportunity for them to benefit from. And when they expect for to you to vibe with them a certain way they expect and expectations aren't met, YOU ARE now the WEIRDEST, YOU ARE now A HORRIBLE PERSON, YOU THINK YOURE BETTER than them. I say this because it is EXTREMELY hard to find a decent therapist/life coach/social worker (you name it), let alone an incredible one since they're almost mythical or non-existent like unicorns. After meeting with constant terrible therapists who clearly did not care for my well-being (more so for his or her paycheck), I somehow was blessed with landing a session with Tamika. After my first session I felt so surprised. I had finally found the unicorn that I was searching for my whole life! At first we were hesitant to go to a therapist because of the stigma associated with couples counselling, which suggested that there was something wrong with our relationship. This is not true. It doesn't mean there is something wrong, it means you are both there, committed to strengthen and lay a strong foundation for your relationship. We contacted several therapists, and Grace was the first to respond. Her email stuck out to us. Right away she seemed compassionate and everything seemed to be very easy, all the way down to negotiating time in our busy schedule to see her. From the moment you walk through her door, you immediately feel comfortable; Soft lighting, a comfortable temperature, and a pitcher of iced lemony water reminiscent of a spa day. The first consolation was not just an assessment of our willingness to work with her, but also her willingness to work with us. By the end we felt so good about the consultation that it was really a no brainer, and we chose her as our therapist. She listened to both sides and helped us hear and understand one another. We generally were welcomed to drive the conversation when needed, and other times she helped us create a dialogue. She provided suggestions on how to break the cycle. It felt completely unbiased. Both of us were able to get our views across without feeling like we were wrong for thinking them. Instead she guided us towards a resolution that worked for both of us. We never felt judged or that we were wrong. We were aloud to feel what we were feeling. After a few months of working alongside Grace, 90% of our arguments were defused, and of the other 10%, we developed techniques to help come to a quick resolution. So far so good. Montare has a variety of treatment options. For example, they offer yoga,…read moresoundbath, TMS, group therapy, individual therapy, creative writing, art therapy, horse therapy, and much more. Montare takes me to the gym and AA meetings if I want to. For Veterans, they have an RSVP program that caters to our needs. Mitch is the coordinator for that program and he helps us with most of our needs. The house manager meets with us weekly along with Mitch where we can voice our concerns. We have a chef who cooks for us and oftentimes caters to our dietary needs. While there have been some staffing issues, the staff that is here has been attentive and friendly. Even though it's still a mental rehab place with some rules, we still get the opportunity to go on outings. Shopping, movies, lasertag, restaurants, and many more activities are some of the places they've taken us. Overall, Montare has offered me a space where I can reflect and grow in a stress free environment.

We just had to pull our son out of what was meant to be a 30 day treatment program because he was receiving sub-par care with a therapist and team who didn't have the depth of experience needed to help him, for several lapses -- and in some instances, outright refusal --to provide contact information or even the names and titles of people involved with his care and through which we could voice our concerns, as well as decisions made in his care that directly contradicted both his current therapist and psychiatrist, despite their repeated attempts to advocate on his behalf. You will hear a great many things from their intake team (all of them making it sound like an ideal and compassionate place to heal) but what actually happened to us was very, very different. I hate to leave this sort of review but hope that it saves other families from the terrible experience that we unfortunately had.

I would tell myself I just wanted to feel "normal". I went through a very difficult experience late last year that left me with high levels of anxiety and severe PTSD. In all honesty, I felt broken. I was in survival mode for many months. My goal was to get better without medication. I did thorough research and finally decided to go with The Balanced Brain and I am so glad I did. I loved this because my brain was being trained based on MY needs. The team took the time to really understand my history and how my brain and nervous system were functioning. They also look at lifestyle, nutrition, stress, and other factors that affect brain performance. A combination of tools were helpful to the Neurofeedback sessions, such as coaching with Madison, lifestyle guidance, HeartMath, bloodwork to go in depth the health of my brain and body, etc. What I appreciate most is that the focus isn't just on symptoms, it's about helping your brain learn to regulate itself better. This was huge for me. The changes were gradual but meaningful. I started sleeping better, felt calmer during stressful situations, my resilience increased. Instances where I'd be triggered were no longer a thing. I can even go to the nail salon now without anxious thoughts! Everyone at the office is very friendly and professional. They were all very supportive and genuinely interested in helping me improve. I am eternally grateful for them being by my side through it all. I even got to meet some wonderful people also doing Neurofeedback. Sharing stories and experiences was one of my faves! I officially finished my 60th session and plan on continuing in the future for maintenance. John (and the entire team) create a welcoming and supportive environment where you feel cared for as a person, not just a client.
