The back nine holes have pine trees and a scattering of maple and oak leaves, but the scenery is once again, top notch for golf in the Ottawa area. The pro shop is small in comparison to other courses I've played, but it doesn't take away from the quality, and the courtesy of the staff. the snack area is well stocked as well, and there is a restaurant on the premises (I didn't eat there). For the golfers, I recommend the course, it is an easier course according to the scorecard, in comparison to the other courses I've played and reviewed, but still an excellent course nonetheless.

The business has been around for a while and since the mini-putt course is outside it has become quite weathered. It has not been very well maintained which adds an extra challenge to playing the course, but since the activity is so inexpensive, we quite enjoyed the extra challenge. The driving range was busy with a constant stream of new golfers. There is a noisy ball machine providing buckets of balls for the range which was used fairly regularly. There were all ages on the range from retired to families with little golfers and since the range is away from the main road, it's a safe place to have some fun with friends or practice your swing. Personally, I have never hit a long range golf ball but it looks like I will be trying it soon!

I had forgotten its location but the big giraffe out front... this is where I used to mininputt as a kid with people no longer with us. I love that the new owner of about 10 years had kept the integrity of the mini putt area. The same little barn, humpty dumpy, church on the putt putt greens... Original, just maybe fixed up a bit. 34 acres. Long driving range. New tavern with drinks and snacks. Food truck. A putting area. Wow. My dog was welcome and we had a nice time at the tavern outer area. Serene. I'll go back. This place has great vibes for me.

I don't know about that. I have not been there in such very long time, and only had brunch there once or twice (although I do have to admit that they did offer an excellent brunch at the time.) However, for this event, none of the low tables were set up - only a few bar stools. Since this event started at 8:00pm, we went to dinner elsewhere with friends beforehand and ended up here. Entrance was free for this event ("Three Girls With Guitars"), but there was not a huge turnout - some people, but not as many as I had expected, considering the event was advertised on Facebook. Normally, this place itself would garner a 3- or 4-star rating, but I wasn't a huge fan of this particular event. For one thing, although there were 3 or 4 stations to get drinks, all drinks were $5.50 each whether you chose beer or wine; but at least they did have a few different choices for either one. On the other hand, and a big minus IMHO, they were not offering coffee! How bizarre, for a place that normally serves as a restaurant, to not offer coffee! What is the designated driver supposed to drink?? Worse than that, while walking around the venue, we came to one bar section that had a pathway behind it (to the kitchen, I think?) - you could see the coffee maker sitting there and easily accessible, but they were not using it! The other thing I did not like was that although the singers' voices were obviously amplified, they were not very clear when speaking. Maybe that's just me and the noise level at the time, which is to be expected. But there was a lot of banter coming from the stage; it would have been nice to hear what they had to say. And you couldn't see them very well from all angles; you had to be standing right in front of the stage to see them. There were no tables whatsoever in front. We didn't end up staying very long (less than 1 hour), which is really too bad; it's not far from home which was one thing that appealed to me in the first place - and being free to get in was another. Hopefully I will have a chance to go back to The Mashes for other more enjoyable reasons...

Between the red and the blue course, Mini Golf Gardens has two full 18 holes mini putt courses. The blue has bumpers and is better for beginners or a warm up whereas the red is much more challenging and doesn't have any bumpers to help direct your ball or prevent it from going into the grass, water or sand. That's right, there are water hazards on this course so get your snorkeling gear! I'm not sure if they always have the 2 for 1 deal, but the day we went if you paid for the firsy 18, the 2nd 18 was free. I had a blast playing here. Oh and did I mention I got 3, that's right, three holes-in-one?!!? Yeah, that's right. Wicked place. Would definitely be back when I'm in the area.

It looks absolutely stunning as the sun sets. There are two courses and to my understanding the second course is free when you play the first. Each hole ranges in difficulty; some I was able to get a hole in one (probably a miracle) and others had me laughing as my ball rolled down to the bottom of the hill for the fourth time. The staff was very kind. There's a small hut where you pay and they also offer ice cream bars and other snacks there as well. I'll definitely be going back to keep my winning streak up!

What I liked: + As a new course, everything is ... new. The carpets, brick, walkways between holes. Unlike many older mini-putt courses, wood isn't used here so the course will better stand the test of time. + Lots of water rushing around the course in man-made creeks, stones, a pretty mini-golf course + There are flagsticks you can take out of the holes! + Huge patio area + Lots of undulations and tiering in the greens, many holes had "rough" - longer artificial grass + Most holes have at least one moderately challenging putt + Good washrooms at the golf course clubhouse + Detailed website What I didn't like - The course doesn't take long enough to play... interestingly there is no "par" designation for each hole however I'd say most holes' par would be 2... its probably about a par 42. That makes it a fun course to play once, but as someone who seeks challenging mini-golf, not one I come to play again and again. - They could have a little post after each hole where you could rest your card to mark your score. - Close to highway though not a lot of noise from the cars
