A week in Tahoe with the grandkids and after hiking, mini golf, and time in the pool, it was time…read moreto tour the lake. Looked to Yelp to help me find a tour that worked for us and happy to find Tahoe Lake Tours! Booking online was easy enough. Looking on Wednesday for a Friday morning time slot and there it was: 9:30-1:30 was perfect. The web site states exactly what will happen during the 4 hours and offers a phone number to call for questions. Parking and check in were easy and Captain Dan was ready for us. The boat was clean and well stocked with life jackets that fit for both adults and children (ages 8,6,4) as well as water bottles. Before leaving the dock we were offered water for a cooler which we didn't need but the offer was appreciated. Our 4 hours: 1. Safety information 2. Review of our preferences for the tour 3. Lots of history of the area as we toured 4. Emerald Bay & Mrs. Knights castle 5. Water tubing (first time for the grandkids) 6. Hang out time for a snack (we brought lots LOL) 7. Back to the marina Dan was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. We would definitely book with Tahoe Lake Tours again and request Captain Dan. Thank you for a great ending to our week in Tahoe!

Captain Troy was accommodating, kind, hospitable, professional and knowledgeable. He took us to breathtaking sites including Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, Vikingsholm, and Rubicon Bay. We enjoyed swimming in the crystal water and never felt rushed. He provided swim floaties, a cooler with cold beverages, and let us take our time to have so much fun. He even called in advance to accommodate a better start time to ensure we had the best weather. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. Booking was easy and he answered all my questions beforehand. We highly recommend this company.

We had a great experience renting a boat from Full Throttle. Our captain Cade (spelling?) was a…read moregreat teacher for the water sports, available with the boat rental. He made everyone feel encouraged to do it. We had 6 adults, 1 child, and one baby. It was very spacious. I was say, comfortably for - 10 people even though the max is 12, especially if there's kids because they tend to feel like 3 people each lol The next time we're in Tahoe, we'd definitely go with this company again, and probably check to see if Cade is free too! We've already recommended them to our friends!

We rented sleds for the whole day because we thought we were badass. Their location is pretty awesome - you literally get on the sleds and go. They go through safety and you get a helmet. There's also a little storage space underneath for things like lunch (which gets jostled around so a sandwich is good) and waters. I liked the fact that you can just go. They have various types of groomed trails and you can also go to open, flat expanses of land. I'm not a great driver in real life, so I passed on the driving experience and happily bopped along behind my driver. We made it up to this amazingly gorgeous ridge (can't remember the name). The view was spectacular and they even had a little warming hut. Great place to chill out. After about 3ish hours - I wasn't feeling like too much of a badass anymore :/ Luckily, the Full Throttle guys were super nice and they gave us a partial refund even though they probably lost money (since they couldn't reserve our sled out). Fun place, can't wait to go back and try their boats too.

Scam & unreliable Do not book with this company. They are…read moreextremely difficult to communicate with and will ignore calls for days (voicemail box is full). We had a full day trip planned for months and 2 days before the reservation they emailed with the completely wrong pick up location. After many calls we finally got ahold of them and they said they would "check on the depth of pick up location we needed". There were never any changes or confusion on our end. We always communicated the correct location with the company. We never heard back. The entire day next day, just 1 day prior to the reservation, they ignored every single communication we tried (email and 20+ phone calls). Then at 10pm the night before they sent a text cancelling the reservation. They are completely unreliable and unprofessional.

!AVOID - BEWARE! Avoid Tahoe Yacht Charters at all costs…read more Our experience was a disaster from start to finish. We were promised a 3 PM departure, but after endless delays and runarounds, we didn't get on the boat until almost 7 PM. Their rep was unresponsive, even telling us to stop calling because he was at Six Flags with his family. We wasted money on Ubers due to being sent to multiple incorrect pick-up locations, including an Airbnb they rent out and a dock they weren't authorized to use (which staff confirmed, mentioning they know they aren't allowed to pick up at Connolly Beach). Once aboard, the grill was broken, leaving us with raw seafood, steaks, burgers, and hotdogs. The boat's power failed, stranding us in the dark for an hour. The captain didn't introduce himself, apologize or provide safety instructions. There was no reason given and promised to upgrade us due to the "inconvenience". We were finally dropped off in a random residential area with no directions on how to get back to town. Tahoe Yacht Charters refused to reimburse any of our additional expenses. This company's lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction is appalling. Do yourself a favor and choose another charter service or be prepared for the runaround (get everything in writing).
