He made everyone feel encouraged to do it. We had 6 adults, 1 child, and one baby. It was very spacious. I had a good time with these guys. It was my first time snowmobiling and I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a really fun day. We rented sleds for the whole day because we thought we were badass. Their location is pretty awesome - you literally get on the sleds and go. They go through safety and you get a helmet. There's also a little storage space underneath for things like lunch (which gets jostled around so a sandwich is good) and waters. I liked the fact that you can just go. They have various types of groomed trails and you can also go to open, flat expanses of land. I'm not a great driver in real life, so I passed on the driving experience and happily bopped along behind my driver. We made it up to this amazingly gorgeous ridge (can't remember the name). The view was spectacular and they even had a little warming hut. Great place to chill out. After about 3ish hours - I wasn't feeling like too much of a badass anymore :/ Luckily, the Full Throttle guys were super nice and they gave us a partial refund even though they probably lost money (since they couldn't reserve our sled out). Planned a trip for our family of 4 to Lake Tahoe and discovered ATV options! This company had great reviews and did not disappoint! Wasn't sure exactly what to expect and the location was hard to figure out. Messaged the company thru email and text messaging and they were great at responding promptly with options for us. We met in a parking lot off a trail mostly used by dirt bikers and off-roaders. Due to covid-19 the bathrooms are closed so go beforehand or dare popping a squat. The vehicle and helmets were sanitizer and once we were given detailed instructions of the trail we were off and rolling! Not all cell services work well on the Genoa Peak so following the trail was slightly tricky. It was great to be able to text our guide for tips while on the trail and know if we got lost it would not be for long. Everyone using the trail was respectful of the road and we had a blast flying over every bump and rock! The view from the top was gorgeous and a great opportunity to bask in Lake Tahoe's beauty. read more

I spoke with the owner, Heath, several times prior to booking, he was patient and really cool about answering all my questions. He was just as cool in person. My wife and I plus two kids had a great time at Full Throttle's private snow machine trails. We reserved two doubles for two hours which was plenty of time to see the amazing snow covered landscape (see photos). The trails were well groomed and marked even during moderate snow. Went snowmobiling using these guys yesterday. Was super fun! My husband has used them before but this was my first time. Easy to get to the start of the trails (you park right off of 267), the snowmobiles were in great, new condition. Their rental hut (where you pick up your helmets, machine, etc.) offered snacks too so if you forgot anything to eat and were planning on being out all day - this is a good idea! It's also heated inside so when you come back after snowmobiling and are frozen - it's great to thaw out :) This place lets you take out your own machine. These are self-guided. So if you are beginner, you might want to stick to guided tours on super-groomed trails. You can just take these and go. We drove up to the Martis Valley lookout (gorgeous.) It would be super fun to take snowshoes next time and drive up and hike around for a while next time! They also rent jetskis and boats in the summer. read more

My friends and I were feeling spontaneous on a trip to Tahoe last week and decided to rent a boat. Not really knowing what we wanted to do other than experience the lake from a different perspective, my friend booked us a two hour rental on the same day. He called about three places and decided this was the overall best deal because it came with a driver! A driver? Sign me up! Our driver, Heath, took us out to a beautiful undeveloped part of the lake where we could jump off big boulders into the emerald water. The scenery was amazing and water temperature perfect! We also got to try wake surfing and boarding as they had both on board. This was by far one of the best parts of our weekend in beautiful Tahoe. I love full throttle! The only snow mobile place in Tahoe that lets you go off by yourself! We came so unprepared but they let us know there is a place down the street that rents all snow gear at a cheap price so we went there and suited up. Came back and the explained the way things work tell you about the trails and to look out for orange ties on the trees so u could follow. It's beyond beautiful and something everyone should do at least once. Boy do those things go fast though! It scares me sometimes I would fly over a bump on that thing. I originally discovered Full Throttle Tahoe a couple of years ago while looking on line for snowmobile rentals in the North Lake Tahoe area. What set them apart from the other operators in the area was that they offered self-guided tours. Despite the fact that it was going to be my first time on a snowmobile, I had plenty of experience in the snow and on dirt bikes and had no desire to spend a bunch of money only to ride around in a line behind a tour guide like little ducklings. The guys there gave me a quick lesson and let me head on my way. They provide a groomed trail system near Brockway Summit off 267 that is perfect for beginner and intermediate riders. However, you can also head out on your own, either on some of the other trails in the area or off into the powder. I had a fantastic time, but towards the end of the day I was riding in the backcountry and rolled the snowmobile into a tree well. I wasn't hurt, but was having a really tough time digging out the snowmobile. After about 30 minutes, I sheepishly called Heath, the owner and told him that his snowmobile was stuck way off the trail system and that I needed help digging it out and flipping it back over. To my surprise, he was totally cool about it. I told him approximately where I was and within about 30 minutes he found me and helped me dig out the machine. He then showed me the way to Martis Peak to check out the views, which were awesome. Since then I have used Full Throttle Tahoe one other time to rent snowmobiles with a group of friends. No one else in the group had any experience riding so we stuck to the trails and everyone had a great time. I even convinced my wife to join us and she had a blast. I will definitely be renting from them again next year. I have also used Full Throttle Tahoe several times this summer for boat charters and wakesurfing lessons. Heath and Duncan are always extremely prompt, professional and are great instructors. My riding has progressed considerably over the past 6 weeks as a result of the instruction. The boat they use, a 24' Centurion Enzo, is in great shape, as are the boards and life vests. They have another Centurion boat that they rent that you can drive yourself, but it isn't much cheaper and they are great drivers and cool guys to hang out with on the lake so at least as far as I am concerned there really isn't any reason to rent the other boat, unless you really want to be alone with your group. To summarize, with respect to snowmobiling, for those wanting a self guided snowmobile tour, they are pretty much the best and I think only option around. The experience is awesome. It is relatively safe as long as you stay on their groomed trails... and if you head out and get into trouble somewhere in the back country, my personal experience suggests that they will find you so you don't have to worry about getting stuck out there and eaten by a bear or pack of rabid raccoons. Some people may feel more comfortable on a guided snowmobile tour, which I am not sure they offer, so it really depends on your group and the experience you are looking for. During the summer, I highly recommend Full Throttle Tahoe for anyone looking for a boat charter or for wakeboard or wakesurf lessons. The boat is nice, throws up a big wake, the guys are great drivers, they get the ballast set up properly (which is key for wakesurfing) and they always show up right on time. We used their services during the July 4th weekend. We were on our way home and wanted to get one last experience of the lake. We decided to go rent a boat (and have it driven by an employee since we weren't very adept at driving one ourselves). We spoke with the owner, Heath, who made us feel very welcome. It was almost 5:00pm, so we weren't surprised if he told us we couldn't rent a boat. Instead he let us know immediately that it was no problem and that he would take us out himself. I knew it was probably a hassle since the day was winding down, so we really appreciated his friendly demeanor. He took us out on the lake an asked us where we wanted to go, and even though we suggested somewhere far (Sand Harbor), he said he would take us there without hesitation and even suggested some good places to stop on the way. As we made our way around the lake, he stopped and gave is some really interesting facts about properties, beaches, and other Lake Tahoe tidbits. He was fast so we could get to where we wanted to go, but also slowed down to stop so we could take pictures and enjoy the scenery. Overall, we were impressed with the quality of service we received; he was very friendly and courteous. We never once made to feel like we were imposing on him by coming so late. The boat itself was very nice and comfortable. I would definitely come back to go jet skiing or use the boat to get wakeboarding or waterskiing lessons. Thanks Heath! read more

Had a fantastic experience with Full Throttle Tahoe. Some friends and I were planning to visit Squaw for some snowboarding, so I took that opportunity to try something I've been meaning to try for the past 3 months- snowmobiling. There were really only two things I was looking for when searching online for a place to make a reservation - independence and easy trails. I wasn't looking for guided tours because I wanted to go a my own speed and I was looking for easy trails because I didn't want to die. Full Throttle Tahoe was the only snowmobile rental in North Tahoe that provided both (as far as I know), so I made a reservation by e-mail and showed up on the day of. They had a snowmobile ready for me and one of the staff members spent ten minutes going over how to drive a snowmobile and then let me go off on my own. I only reserved my snowmobile for an hour, but it was so much fun that I reserved another hour to get more time in. They provide a map and the trails are fairly obvious so getting lost isn't too big a concern. I started off going between 20-30 but by the end I was going 4o-50. So much fun! According to their website, they also offer a lot of boat rentals so I'm thinking about coming back to these guys in the summer. read more

I was a little anxious when my boyfriend suggested snowmobiling but now I'm so glad he did... a large part due to Full Throttle! What he had in mind was self-guided snowmobiling, and this was the only one in Tahoe that offered it, so we called up and booked our appointments. On the day of, we wanted to come early so we called ahead and they said it was no problem. Unfortunately we stopped for breakfast since we were starving and ending up coming a little late. Again, no problem. The guy we worked with, John, was super nice and understanding. He called with his personal number so we were able to reach him without a problem. The only issue was....we kinda of missed the part where we were supposed to meet him at the trailhead and not the office listed on yelp. Not sure if it was the fault of my boyfriend not paying attention when he booked the appointment or the company itself for not being clear, but either way it wasn't a big deal since we were able to talk to John on the phone about it for clarification. And just a reminder, there are two snowmobiling companies on that road! Full Throttle is to the RIGHT if you're coming from the Lake. Made the mistake of going to the left where our "appointment" was met with some major confusion. Oops! Arrived, talked to John who gave us the run through of the equipment and how stuff worked. Since I came without any gear, I was also able to borrow a helmet, gloves, and goggles. Be warned though, besides the helmet, they don't seem to be fully stocked so if you're coming with a large group, remind people to get their own! I was fine with what they had though...you know, just roughing it! After John gave us a run down of all the trails, we were on our way! So for snowmobiling itself...awesome!! The trails are slightly confusing but the best part about going self-guided is to EXPLORE! Just remember, flags on the Right = Returning; flags on the Left = Leaving. Pretty basic! We came right after a snow storm so the powder was pretty sweet, with a few mucky spots being the exception. A2 was definitely the best trail of the day so after exploring the other trails, the boyfriend and I just rode back and forth on that one, no problem. Finished up, paid for our stuff and was good to go. We hung out a little bit afterward because my boyfriend wanted to have "guy talk" with John (i.e. RPMs, jumps, etc etc) and John proved to be very personable, friendly, and knowledgable. I mean, don't expect someone out of the office with strictly trained customer service skills or anything. You can tell, he's just a chill guy doing what he loves and that's all the better. Finally a few tips I have to offer: (1) Call ahead for weather conditions! You can actually change the time you're out there (I think) just as long as you tell them before you go (like 2 vs. 3 hour adventure package). They just wanna know ahead of time so they know when to expect you and don't have to come out looking for you. The weather really determines how much time you want out there though! (2) Remember that they need a deposit for the snowmobile so have your credit card ready! On debit cards, the bank will actually hold your money so CC is best! Just make sure you have that amount ready in your card. (3) MOST IMPORTANT! I would seriously suggest not riding 2 people to one snowmobile. Sure it's cheaper, but it's not as fun! You can't take as many risks in the front seat with speeds and jumps and the bumps HURT when they come unexpected in the back seat. I paid for the trip this time since it was my boyfriends birthday but I told him straight up, he's paying for his own next time cuz I want my own! I got a need for speed, so get outta my way vroom vroom! :) So don't be scared, gear up, get out there, and enjoy yourself! read more

We had a great time here. This was the first time I drove a snowmobile and the people here were very helpful in providing the instructions to the first timer like me. Me and my wife went totally unprepared, without any gloves or sunglasses. The manager was kind enough to loan his gloves. We came across a trail, which was very steep on one side. The snowmobile kept pulling me towards that side and just before I thought we were falling down the cliff, I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop. It was pretty scary. Luckily for us, the phone signal was very strong and we called the guys. They showed up within 10 minutes and helped us out. I strongly recommend this place if you are a first timer. read more

Last year my friends and I took a trip with Full Throttle Tahoe and had an so much fun we just booked another trip with a group of 10. The coolest thing is that your riding through the back-country at your own speed and you gotta make your friends catch up lol. Riding up the mountains, through trees and curving around the turns is something you should experience. We've look at other snow mobile trips but this one definitely has the best course & speed for the adrenaline junkie. So I have to give these guys five stars, I used North Tahoe water sports and regret it terribly. It was a bad experience and our jet ski flipped over, the only people that came out to help were these guys. Full throttle Tahoe employee stayed with us and helped us flip our jet over. North Tahoe water sports left us in the water so they can charge us the most. They weren't even concerned with our well being, just gave us attitude about how they are losing business because of us. I work at a private dock on the lake. Often enough, these guys pull their boats up, pick up a crew of screaming kids and take them out for the day. While waiting for a family, I asked what the plans were for the day and Heath explained the entire day and even the dinner and night life plans. When the boat pulls away, every family has nothing but praise and huge smiles on their faces.
