What a vast, sordid and complex history this Country has had. Our guide was a wealth of information relative to the past and current challenges Cuba has faced in the last century. Our hearts go out to the extremely nice people of this island Nation as they look to navigate the current political structure of their homeland. Trip highlights: Super fun salsa dance lesson Beautiful hike to a waterfall Our in home cooking lesson Architectural viewing in the larger cities Fusterlandia and the FAC (Cuban Art Factory) Classic car tour Visit to a local farm for breakfast and bees! Tasting all the yummy Cuban cuisine Listening to amazing local music CTAG made the entire experience easy, and we would recommend a visit to support the lovely people of Cuba. It's so full of funky architecture, spectacular Bay views, a few hidden beaches, and plenty of colorful residents. This place is a total trip! Where else in the world can you find such a unique, seaside community with so many photo opps. Although this makes for a fun tourist destination, you have to remember that people actually live here. Translation: be respectful of the communal decks and property. Otherwise, you may endure the wrath of some salty, seaside locals. Like I said, there are quite a few characters (old hippies, young yippies, artists, etc.) who live around here. Consider yourself warned. Even when I'm not playing tour guide to guests, I like strolling here with my dog (yes, it's dog-friendly... as long as they're on leash). It's just a really relaxing spot, and it reminds me of how lucky we are to live in such an amazing area. When visiting, I'd recommend parking near the Mike's Bikes shop and Davey Jone's Deli. But be sure to lock your doors. The area can sometimes attract car burglars.

I can only imagine how much more unique it must be to live in one! A community of writers and artists who became commercially successful, live here. Shel Silverstein used to live in a houseboat here. Rumor has it that Michael Lewis, the guy who wrote Money Ball, The Blind Side, and The Big Short, all of which were made into movies, also owns a houseboat in Sausalito. His house on terra firma is just across the bridge in Berkeley. Just a million dollars for a tiny home on the water in Marin paradise. Location, location, location!

Mr. Cossou was kind enough to share his memories, the construction of the model, walk through and share all the well preserved artifacts - one of the original maps, plans obtained directly from the Smithsonian. The upstairs once housed the chief operator and his family - all recreated with original pieces of furniture, dish ware, machinery, kitchen appliances. The view from each window was spectacular. We were told that the location was once very industrial, with trains and ferry's shipping goods to and from Tiburon to San Francisco. The docent and Mr. Cossou were wonderful and informative. The tour guides (aka very accomplished paranormal investigators) were engaging, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Napa's history and the paranormal. It was the perfect mix of spooky, fun, and fascinating -- we learned so much about downtown Napa along the way. Attendees become paranormal investigators during the tour, given several tools to track paranormal activity (spiritual dowsing rods, and a ghost hunting meter that measures electric signals (as ghosts give off electric signals). We made about 4-5 different stops that are either haunted or have affiliation with death, and Devin helped the group communicate with ghosts during some of the stops, combining storytelling with interesting historical events in Napa. We had a combination of skeptics and believers in our group, including at least one witch. I, of course, came for the entertainment, getting to talk about serial killers, learn a bit about history, and also get in a few laughs as Devin brings the humor as well. I did learn some new things, such as the difference between a ghost and a spirit, possible origins of the terms "lobbying" and "pulling my leg", and that Cole's Chop House (where my bf and I had dinner earlier that day) was formerly a mortuary. We ended at the courthouse, not where we started the tour, with the story of the last public execution in California which took place here in Napa. Overall, we had a fun time, and it's an unconventional way to tour the streets of Napa, and definitely enjoyable if you like ghost stories.
