One server/hostess appeared to be the only employee and after standing there for about 10 mins with no assistance we walked out. You cannot see the stage from the apparent standing portion of the bar. Half of the bar is obstructed from the stage, so if you want to actually see the band then I guess you should arrive very early.

Stumbled into this jazz club at 1 in the morning after a whole day at Octoberfest and scootering around Marienplatz with my best friend... Only ordered water (lol) but the atmosphere while the jazz player (a fellow American!) played was so mesmerizing ... every party there (it was packed as it is a small little bar) sat in silence as they just listened and watched the jazz players do their thing! There is ample from and I sat at the bar. Overall great experience, though I wish there was the live music. The food was good and the service was fast. Highly recommend this spot.

If you are just here for drinks and vibes, at a popular time of the day, this is a very nice style-conscious hangout place. For food, breakfast, cakes ... I find the quality they serve a bit puzzling. It's as if no one here took notice that the world, including the quality of good café fare, has advanced over the past 25 or so years. I think it doesn't need much more than a fresh take on menu and food quality to make this a coffeehouse gem again. Currently it feels past its prime, and undeservedly so.

The owner then shared with us he's not from NY and has no idea what it means to be a NY bar (who claims he's from Pennsylvania). A lot of question marks. Then he continued to shame us for being from New York, admitted he never went there, and then proceeded to brag about being from bumblefuck, Pennsylvania, and how his son never pays for anything when he goes to Pennsylvania. As someone who has been to NYC bars this isn't a place that resembles "nyc" and should not be considered a place to grab for drinks. 2/10 would not recommend!

Not only did they use bottom shelf liquor for the drink but it took 20 minutes just to have them come around to serve us despite the low volume of customers. For a venue that comes off as catering to high society i was very disappointed in their service and quality of drinks.

It punches above its weight gloablly--with renowned acts on par with grander NYC or West Coast venues--but retains its small-club edginess with a steady stream of Europe's up-and-coming jazz talent. That said, you won't be impressed by the physical space or acoustics. It's a small, intimate club, guess it fits about 80 people, and has a low ceiling, brickwork, and roof-support posts partially blocking the view of the stage. If you can, buy tickets online at least a couple weeks in advance, which gets you a table & service. With a membership you get 50% discount and access to members-only events.

The short walk to its subterranean location, deep inside a disused beer cellar, gives you the feeling you're heading someplace secret, avant-garde, and maybe a bit subversive. But alas, every time I've visited, the physical limitations of the space have made my stay uncomfortable. It's crowded, and difficult to get to the bar. One often feels like one is stepping on toes to get to one's seat. Par for the course, for an intimate jazz club? Perhaps. I enjoy the music, but seldom the atmosphere.
