The receptionists at Alpha were very well organized and helpful, but the dental team present on a Sunday morning was extremely disorganized and not communicating well with each other or with me. No less than 4 different people came in and out of the exam room, asking the same questions and leaving. 2 different technicians had to repeat my x-rays a total of 4 times due to problems with their equipment. In the end they had to transfer me to a kids' exam room with a tiny radiation shield that barely covered me. When the dentist (Dr. Vinh) finally came in he didn't seem to have the background on my situation. Despite very clear symptoms of an abscess that had been getting worse for several days, he didn't take the time to properly locate it (it was in a tricky place under the jaw). Instead he quickly palpated around and concluded the pain must be coming from a cracked tooth or "just the shape of the jawbone rubbing against the gums." When the X ray showed no cracked tooth, he said I would just need to "get used to the pain" since it won't go away due to my jaw shape and try rinsing with saltwater from time to time. WTF?? If you don't enjoy being gaslighted and actually expect your medical professionals to have a modicum of communication and diagnostic skills, I suggest you go elsewhere.

Il m'a également affirmé qu'un appareil complet coûterait 1 500 $ CA. Il m'a précisé que les matériaux utilisés seraient solides et dureraient plus de 5 ans, notamment les dents SR Phonares et l'acrylique Keystone Diamond D. J'ai accepté et j'ai décidé d'aller de l'avant. Pour faire court : on m'a remis un jeu de prothèses qui ne ressemblait absolument pas aux miennes, mais alors rien à voir. Quand je l'ai fait remarquer, M. Nofal m'a répondu que selon lui, ses prothèses étaient plus belles et plus naturelles que les miennes. Quant à la prothèse inférieure, elle tenait littéralement sur une plaque, et quand j'ai soulevé ce problème, il a, encore une fois, affirmé que selon lui, cela avait l'air plus naturel. Honnêtement, je ne savais plus quoi dire ou faire à ce moment-là, surtout qu'on me disait que le travail était finalisé. Je venais de l'extérieur de la province (ou de l'État), donc je ne sais pas ce qui se serait passé si je n'avais pas payé. J'étais vraiment abasourdi et tellement déçu que je n'ai rien dit, j'ai payé, et je suis parti aussi vite que possible, ne voulant pas faire d'histoire. Oui, c'est fou, je sais. Quelques mois plus tard, même pas un an, en mangeant, j'ai senti quelque chose d'étrange avec ma prothèse inférieure. En l'examinant et en enlevant le produit de remplissage doux que j'utilisais, j'ai découvert que la prothèse était littéralement fendue en deux. Et pourtant, je ne l'ai jamais fait tomber, ni maltraitée -- seulement une utilisation normale, en mangeant. Le lendemain, j'ai appelé le cabinet pour expliquer ce qui s'était passé. On m'a répondu qu'il faudrait 400 $ de plus pour la réparer. J'ai alors rappelé les faits : que j'avais payé le prix fort, malgré que le résultat ne correspondait pas du tout à ce que j'avais demandé, et que la prothèse n'avait même pas tenu un an. On m'a simplement dit que je n'aurais pas dû payer si ça ne me convenait pas. J'ai eu envie de répondre que je regrettais vraiment d'avoir payé, mais ils ont continué en disant que je devrais voir un autre dentiste pour la faire réparer... et ils m'ont carrément raccroché au nez. Tout cela pour dire : acheteur, méfie-toi. Ne vous laissez pas berner par les beaux discours sur la qualité de leur travail ou leurs années d'expérience, quand le résultat réel n'est pas au rendez-vous. Then they give you the product that you whiten your teeth with. Currently in the process but I'm hoping for good results with that! I recommend that everything they charge to be reviewed. Although they will be rude and go check in the back office with a Farah about the right price to charge. The staff has no clue what they are doing. Finally, the issue was resolved after a number of meetings. The manager named Jean who might be the nicest person. But clearly had no clue what to do.

Every single visit, no matter what the circumstance or difficulty, was excellent and quite successful. I had my teeth cleaned to perfection after not having gone in 25 years (yes, I know!!). That was a challenge, but it came out beautifully. I had a root canal done, and several other major fixes. Not a single one caused problems afterward. The most urgent problems are being fixed first to save me money in the long run, which I appreciate. What stands out even more to me, though, is Dr. Margossian and her wonderful staff. They are very pleasant, each and every one of them. They know their field of expertise and work hand in hand. It is a light-hearted and very friendly atmosphere that eases your mind. You are not just a number in the contact list of patients. They will remember your name and story, take the time to explain and teach you. I walk out of the clinic (numbly) smiling every time and look forward to my next visit. That is something I would have never thought I would write about a dentist or any doctor. I still have a long journey ahead of me to make up for all the years I have not taken care of my teeth, but I found the right place to do so.

Have since been followed regularly at another dental clinic (Galerie Dentaire) since 2019 and no such procedure has ever been recommended! I will give credit to Dr Cohen, who was very pleasant and cordial, but Dr Myrna Naman is frankly snobbish and very unpleasant to interact with. Very expensive too. Avoid.
