They are experts at maintaining that perfect balance between being kind but firm, they are extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and patient. I also want to give a special shout-out to Mrs. Kim. Mrs. Kim is the backbone of this dojang, providing amazing support and direction to both the students and the parents (who, like me, might not always know what to do). While Taekwondo is a martial art, this dojang offers so much more than just physical fitness. Students will learn discipline, mental toughness, confidence, focus, and the ability to regulate their emotions. They will learn how to give and receive respect and develop leadership skills by helping to guide lower-ranking belts. The instructors also not only care about how well a student is doing inside the dojang but also about their well-being outside of it. They check in on student's progress in school, social interactions, how well a student might be at home with eating right and keeping clean. They are truly invested and care about the growth of each student. Bealeton is incredibly fortunate to have this dojang here. I tried to give this place a fair shot, but it ended up being the absolute worst experience my 5-year-old child has ever gone through. Several major issues occurred during his brief time here: Medical Neglect & Cruelty: My son got a cut on his foot during camp, and the staff flat-out refused to give him a band-aid. Instead of helping a hurt child, they handled the situation so poorly that he was left feeling ostracized by the other kids. Deceptive Pricing: They are incredibly dishonest and deceiving about their prices and hidden fees. What you are quoted is not what you end up dealing with. Appalling Management: When I tried to address these issues, the manager actually yelled at me and blamed my 5-year-old child for her own mistakes and the staff's incompetence. The lack of empathy, basic care, and professionalism at this establishment is staggering. A business catering to young children should offer a safe, nurturing environment--not one where a child is denied basic first aid and screamed at by management.
