Unable to believe our eyes, we entered the shop expecting to see hideously disgusting one pieces and ridiculously large sizes, and instead were shocked to find decent, fashionable cozzies of all styles and in our sizes. Needless to say, every single one of us left that store with a crisp white Cozzie Shack shopping bag to carry our brand new bikinis.

The exception to this is Bra Boutique, a charming split-level establishment located on Concord's busy Majors Bay Rd (opposite Coles). Bra Boutique's name is somewhat deceiving. While there is an impressive range of bras and underwear available in store, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The swimwear section (downstairs) is what keeps me coming back every summer. Whoever picks the merchandise has impeccable taste. Whatever your size or shape, you will be able to find the perfect swimming costume at Bra Boutique. The healthy variety of bikinis, one-pieces and beach attire is impressive. Brands include Seafolly, 2 Chillies and Tigerlily. Cute, decedent knick-knacks and giftware are available at the front of the shop, and are perfect if you need a gift for your girlfriend, sister or mother. The great thing about Bra Boutique is that the shop is almost always empty, so you can take your time and peruse at your leisure. Service is often nonexistent, but this doesn't bother me too much. It's fun to rummage through an empty shop without an overenthusiastic teenager watching over your shoulder, asking for the tenth time if you need help with anything.

Sure, I could have packed my Yelpers poncho, and I would have, if I'd been able to find it in the early hours before I dashed off for the train. Wet & bedraggled I dripped my way into the store, lured by jackets that were now half price, now around $130. I was like a man in the desert looking for water! Well, no, just the opposite of everything I just said, but you know what I mean. Flicked through the rack, & noticed another stand of jackets that were about $80. Yes, I've got several jackets at home but I'm in the city for many hours to come, so I've tried on a few. The sales person was helpful in helping with sizes, and searching for colours for me. Just as I was about to it a buy one in a basic, boring black he offered to search in the Clearance area for me. Very pleased, he returned with a candy pink & a sky blue in my size. Sold! The blue rain jacket was mine! And I think about $50!!! I kind of think that if I'd gone in & bought either of the other 2 options that I probably wouldn't have bothered to review the place. But getting friendly service by somebody who listened to what I needed, helped me look on the racks, & then offered to something extra, I'm here sharing the love. The clearance store stocks some of my favourite swimwear designers (Zimmerman, Tigerlily etc) as well as Bikini Island's own label which is decent and pretty cheap! If you end up at the beach without swimmers it's not going to break your wallet to pop in here and pick up a new costume and they also stock towels, goggles - most things you'd require for a day frolicking on Bondi Beach.
