I stopped at this Love's location on July 8 at approximately 9:00 AM. My visit started off fine--I…read morewent inside to use the restroom, and it was clean and well maintained with no issues. Afterward, I went to the register and asked to put $15 on Pump 8. Unfortunately, I didn't have as much money in my account as I thought. My card approved only $13.78, which was deducted from my account, and I was then told I still owed $1.22. I've never experienced a situation like this before. At other gas stations, if there is an issue with the amount, the cashier is typically able to adjust it. I was confused as to why I couldn't simply receive the $13.78 worth of fuel and have the remaining $1.22 removed. The cashier, Robin, repeatedly told me I still owed the balance but did not explain the situation in a way that made sense to me. What made this experience particularly upsetting was Robin's attitude. Throughout the interaction, she rolled her eyes, huffed and puffed, and spoke to me in a way that felt argumentative and dismissive. I understand that employees must follow company policies, and I was not upset about the policy itself. My concern is with how I was treated. Another employee or manager became involved and suggested calling customer support to process a refund, though they were unable to tell me how long that would take. During this entire interaction, Robin continued displaying visible frustration and annoyance. Thankfully, a very kind customer standing behind me stepped in and paid the remaining $1.22 for me. His generosity turned an embarrassing situation into one that could finally be resolved. Afterward, I confirmed that I would still be able to receive the full $15 on Pump 8, and I left. I walked away feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and like I had been treated as an inconvenience over $1.22. Everyone has bad days, but customer service still matters. The eye-rolling, sighing, and overall attitude were unnecessary and unprofessional. I will be contacting corporate to report this incident because no customer should be made to feel the way I felt during this interaction. The restroom was clean, and I appreciate the kindness of the customer who helped me, but the service I received from this cashier was unacceptable.
