A great find serving up great Mexican dishes with a slight twist. Good portions and reasonably priced served by friendly staff members. Complimentary chips and salsa just kept coming and the salsa was awesome! Our meals came piping hot from the kitchen and mine came on a sizzling platter! Absolutely tender and perfectly seasoned steak fajita! That's was from our first visit. On our next visit I had the Steak Hawaiian fajitas again! We were seated very quickly. The atmosphere resembled a very small IHOP. Tables were very close together, with about 2 ft between them. I felt like I was in a school cafeteria because of this. I will say the music was nice and at a suitable volume. It was not played so loud that it interfered with conversation, especially if you wanted to eavesdrop on the table next to you. The menu was very limited. Food service was very slow. When the food finally arrived it was dried out and overcooked. My shrimp looked like it was cooked over a campfire like a marshmallow, complete with a black charred covering. Staff was very nice. Margaritas were pretty good. If you want to drink a lot, you should have plenty of time to drink 2-3 overpriced drinks before your food arrives. Wait staff is good about returning to see if you need another drink. I'll start by saying that we have been to the location in Waxahachie and it's great! Both places have a nice atmosphere and great service. The food is as good as it is in Waxahachie. Everything was served as expected and all was freshly made. Now to the concerning part. As we were leaving there was a really bad smell of sewage. My husband mentioned it and at first I didn't smell it until I moved a little further towards the door. Our friends who were with us also smelled it. I don't think that's healthy and definitely not a good sign. Wish we had smelled that before we were seated. Please get that fixed. We will keep to the Waxahachie location. read more

Stopped in tonight before the game for a bite to eat. The service was excellent, while it was extremely busy we got seated immediately and waited on quickly. A+ for the well oiled machine. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely, and while I didn't have a drink tonight, I have had their sangria in the past and it was good! Up to this point they were rated high. Unfortunately, while the food was hot and plated beautifully, it lacked flavor and was just average. We had the chili rellano and the carne asada. We ended the meal with the flan and sopapilla which were also average. I wish I liked the food as much as the place! read more

I will tell you to stick to what you know here. We went in about 9 months ago and the food was terrible. Today we decided to give it another chance. Much better, back to where it was. We also were there at an off time so we were the only ones there. The queso fundido is still good. The reason it's a 4 star and not a 5 is because we ran out of tortillas and hot sauce and no one came to see if we needed more. The fajitas were ok not great. The Hawaiian fajitas were the same. It was however a huge difference than last time. I do not recommend you get enchiladas here though. That's what was so extremely awful last time. I will say the seating here is highly uncomfortable. You're either in a wicker chair or a straight back wood bench with all the seating connected. But they still get a 4 instead of a 3 due to the improved food. Remember though I'm talking about fajitas not enchiladas. I'm scared to ever try those again. read more

My husband and I frequent the wonderful Mi Casa Mexican Cuisine in Waxahachie. We love the staff and the Oaxacan/Mexican cuisine and the charming atmosphere. Living in Glenn Heights, we spend time in both Waxahachie and Midlothian, but I hadn't heard about the new second restaurant! We were taking a drive and what a surprise! Things were humming Sunday at noon in the newly renovated building across from the little Heritage Park. Mi Casa has a lovely new place with a sweet little bar at one end, a large L-shaped dining area and a well covered big patio! The interior design and menu is very similar to the restaurant in Waxahachie, although we had never seen the Brunch menu and there were new additions to the main menu. Little bowls of salsa fresca and a basket of chips arrive with menus and a friendly waiter as per usual after being seated. Today I chose the Tacos al Carbon ($18), three tender steak tacos in flour tortillas served with small ramekins of guacamole and Pico de Gallo and rice and refried beans. My spouse ordered one of his favorites, the Molcajete Oaxaca ($19), Beef and Chicken Fajita, Sausage, a Stuffed Tornedo and Onions with a plate of rice, refries, guacamole, sour cream and warm tortillas. Everything was delicious. Mi Casa's beef is never chewy and very flavorful. The chairs are comfy and there's plenty of room between tables. There are servers for everything from beverages to salsa and everyone was smiling today in spite of the crowd. We lacked for nothing. I would like to come back for brunch next time. I craved beef today, but there's some interesting Oaxacan items for brunch. Parking can be a little dicey. I should have asked where patrons can park in addition to the front. But I see no other flaws. We're going to love this place, too! read more

Was in town for business and wanted something good to eat but also try some place new to me. Went with a healthy choice and ordered the Salmon Huatulco and let me tell you. This was a great tasting lunch with a side of white rice and steamed vegetables. Perfect combination and very flavorful. Tried this place on 4th of July and it was good! I got a Sangria and all I needed was one, it was good and got the job done. I was avoiding carbs and got the fish tacos with lettuce wraps instead of the tortilla and the charro beans and it was so good!!! Not Exactly "Grande" Stopped in for a quick bite and ordered the Grande Burrito--expecting, well, something grande. What I got was a burrito barely bigger than a taco. Flavor was actually solid, and the service was friendly and quick, but the portion size was way off for what they're charging. Felt more like a snack than a meal. Well, I ordered brisket flautas. Six small pieces on a big plate. Super dry, no flavor. Quite honestly, would not even consider ordering them again. My sister ordered the sampler appetizer. Not bad, but very small portion for the money. My other family member ordered the salmon and she said it was outstanding. Enjoyed it. The table next to us ordered from the brunch menu. One woman ordered chicken and waffles. She said it was terrible and would not order it again. Her companion had a chicken fajita omelet. She said the chicken was tasty, but did not like the veggies. Food sucked! Cold morcajete! Overcooked shrimp in the fish soup it had nothing fish in it. Scalp were the size of peas no oysters. They really need to improve on their food quality. I'll give them the chips and salsa that were pretty good and the margaritas were good as far as the food it sucked. read more

My husband, 3 year old and 1 year old all went for dinner on a Friday night at 5pm and we sat outside with no wait. Victor was our waiter and this has to be the best Mexican food we ever had but not only that the service there was outstanding!!! Someone was checking up on us every 5-10 minutes or so. We got 4 cocktails, 2 entrees and 2 kids meals. Our total was around $90 so the pricing is very fair as well with the amazing food and drinks you are getting. We can't wait to go back! read more

My family and I had dinner at this restaurant again tonight, and once again it did not disappoint. I could brag on the food, and I will, but the service is impeccable! Staff, including the owner, comes around to make sure everything is just right; drinks kept full, plentiful chips and salsa, and if anything is not just right, will make it so. They cheerfully chat with the diners, making everyone feel like they are having lunch or dinner as a guest in their home. On Thursday, just another day of the week, the restaurant was completely full, and more waiting to be seated. What a great problem to have if you are a restaurateur. read more
