BOGO event currently for their new opening.
Tiger Sugar is located in the hwy 7 plaza beside the Coco and Kung Fu Tea. Parking is always disastrous in this plaza, but good ole pandemic has given lots of empty spots if you're in the area. Be cautious, however, where you park or what you drive because the sprinklers do go off and they have quite a spraying distance. Probably not the best idea to tie your bike on a tree, just saying.
The process was pretty smooth to order and get your drinks. They have quite a menu and their focus is on their 'Tiger Sugar', which is a flavourful brown sugar concoction that's imported from their main headquarters. If you're a brown sugar BBT fan, this is a great place for it. Lots of variety and options to choose from.
A typical drink is Tiger Sugar boba and fresh milk so you really focus on the robust caramel flavour of the boba. If you're a tea lover like me and want a milk tea base with the tiger sugar, they have a tiger sugar tea latte. The tea flavour is light, so if you're expecting the typical milk tea flavour, you won't be getting it. But it does cut down on the heavy creaminess of the milk.
They have something called 'Bobo', which is likened to japanese mochi. We ordered a drink with both the tiger sugar boba and the japanese bobo. The bobo is hard to sip through the straw, so be aware that it will take a bit of effort. Honestly, no flavour to it. They say it'll give you that 'fresh and satisfying' for a lack of a better interpretation of "song" in Chinese, but really, it just felt like a gooey chew with no flavour - almost like a mushed up boba in a blob.
They do have teas without the tiger sugar so there is something for everyone. It is a little on the pricier side in comparison to other BBT places, but they do the brown sugar well. The boba is really tender and flavourful. read more
