I know it may sound silly, but this is permanently on my body. And 5 years later I'm still trying to get it off of me. The amount of time, pain, and money I've been through over this. As a fellow artist, and a person who previously had tattoos before coming in... stepping in there was one of my biggest regrets. I won't name this person but I still see their name pop up in reviews. I came in to get a year-old helix piercing changed from a flat-backed stud to a hoop and was told…read moreit could be done. The studio where I got it done originally put the stud on very tight. Something was clearly wrong. Instead of stopping, I went through an incredibly painful removal and jewelry change process at Evil By The Needle. I was told constantly by employee they were "sorry this is so uncomfortable," as I was biting back curses and experienced pain much worse than the original piercing. I bled a considerable amount and experienced a lot of discharge that I haven't in months. It is clear now that it has not healed (and was under stress), but that was not the impression given as the employee lightheartedly told me that I could "get away" with a hoop being put on. Original jewelry was given to me uncleaned with blood on it in a bag. I hope I am wrong but I do not trust that this type of piercing will be done properly here in general. In trying to fix it, another studio let me know the way the piercing exited my ear made it so jewelry put too much pressure on it. Serious irritation resulted. I do not blame Evil By The Needle for the mistake of the previous studio, but they should not have moved forward putting in their jewelry, which was also far too large for my ear and the seam where the hoop closed did not meet. It was jagged enough to tear up my ear further. Helix piercings can easily have complications, but my situation was not helped by my experience here. Though it is not infected, I wish I had been told the seriousness of the situation and given advice on how to proceed. I needed to start over and let the area heal. Instead, a needlessly painful situation was furthered... and they let me shop at their studio for new jewelry to put in. I seriously urge anyone getting riskier piercings to look somewhere else for expertise and guidance on their proper handling. If you have concerns get a second opinion! Mistakes like this can be serious!

My daughter had been wanting to get a tattoo while I was visiting her for the weekend (she didn't want to be alone and wanted mom w her ), she called several places in Bloomington. It was tough getting a same-day appointment or a walk-in during these COVID times. She came across this place which advertised walk-ins welcomed. We came on a Saturday afternoon, artist Brant was working on a client. He offered a 7pm appointment later that day, she would have been his last client. We had another commitment and asked if he had anything for next day. Brant checked his schedule and said although booked all day Sunday, he offered to come 30 minutes before opening and squeeze her in. We came Sunday at 1:30. Not only was Brant accommodating, but had a kind and calm demeanor putting my daughter at ease. He did a fantastic job on her tattoo. (It was a simple signature smiley face that she drew, he then transposed it onto her wrist and quickly tattooed it on.). The establishment itself was very clean and well kept. The walls were lined with numerous examples of previously done tattoos. Overall a very positive experience!

Shaena did a wonderful job and really took her time making sure the shape of my new and improved brows were perfect. I spent a lot of time researching this procedure and businesses that offer permanent cosmetics before choosing Litwin. My procedure was shorter than I expected and only took about 3 hours total, including the pre-shaping that Shaena does before she begins the actual microblading process. Shaena does a great job of explaining all of your options and helping you choose the best solution for you. She was extremely responsive and quick to answer all of my questions before my appointment. Microblading is a bit more uncomfortable than I had anticipated, but everyone has different levels of tolerance and Shaena makes the procedure as comfortable as possible with numbing gel. It is similar to getting a tattoo, but more of a slower, dragging feeling. They also offer a nanobrow procedure using a tool that is similar to a traditional tattoo gun that speeds up the procedure, so if you aren't comfortable with microblading, you may want to opt for nano instead. As with a tattoo, the discomfort is only temporary and IMO it's worth the long term results. Microblading has significantly shortened my morning routine, which no longer consists of filling in my brows and concealing a scar on my right brow. Now I can actually say "I woke up like this" because my face already feels put together the moment I get out of bed. No more reaching for my brow gel! The healing process has been easy and I've experienced minimal sensitivity and no bruising. It may sound dramatic, but I really feel like the benefits of cosmetic tattooing are life changing. If you've been thinking about having this procedure done, just go for it. You will not regret it!
