I took my dad to see the dr Tim for a second opinion about a colonoscopy, because when he was in the hospital they recommended to do it, but Dr Tim explain to us the pros and cons about the exam since my dad is 92 years old,. He said it is not a good idea but if we want to do it he was happy to help us. He said that because I told him my dad had a colonoscopy like 4 months ago and it didn't show anything bad plus my dad doesn't have any stomach pain. We decided not to do it but if my dad have any pain will come back. I really like the Dr Tim, he was nice, and took his time to explained everything I asked him, so I recommend him. The clinic respects patients' time - I never had to wait long for my appointments, unlike many other doctors' offices that I've been to. Dr. Chen is always patient, has great bedside manners, actively listens and addresses all my questions in detail, and never rushed any of my prior appointments. I can't begin to say enough great things about Dr. Chen and his practice, well worth the wait! He is a charismatic individual with a caring and warm bedside manner. The office is clean and well organized. You can actually reach someone on the phone after hours. At age 58, I am starting to reach that demographic of the population where I really need to start paying attention to the noises in the engine! I had a detailed colposcopy and had no issues prior during and after the procedure. The only hiccup was that I left my phone in the bed and didn't realize it until the next day. His partner, Dr. Pan, pardon the spelling, was extremely generous by meeting me at the facility which was closed and helping me relocate my phone. Wow surprised Tim hasn't gotten more reviews! My first visit to a gastroenterologist ever so wasn't quite sure what to expect, but Dr. Chen made the whole experience seem not so bad. Had a hemorrhoid banding, which never in my lifetime I would've imagined getting, but here we are. It was a relatively painless procedure though. He's super nice, willing to listen to your problems, and has been very on top of making sure you're ok. He also personally called after the appointment since I forgot to stay behind for a bit to make sure I felt ok! He also makes sure you're not overspending on meds you may not need! I was texted a link to make an appointment. I followed the link and made appointments twice. I received no response. I called today. I waited 30 minutes on hold. My doctor at USC/Keck said that it was time to have another colonoscopy. USC said they could schedule my procedure in a month. I didn't want to wait so I asked around and a friend told me about a new clinic that just opened up in San Gabriel that specialized in digestive disorders. I called and made an appointment with Dr. Tim Chen the next day. The same day I got an E-mail that let me preregister my history and medical information. The office visit was made very pleasant by Dr. Chen and his staff. Dr. Chen was great. He check my history, explained the procedure, the costs and the time factors. They gave me an appointment for the procedure the following Tuesday at the surgical center located in the same building. When I checked in at the surgical center, all of my paperwork for admission was already filled out and all I had to do check for correctness. I was in and out in about 2 1/2 hours. i contacted Dr. Chen's office last summer for my procedure. He gave me as much time as needed to answer all questions before the procedure. My first impression was that he's very friendly and easy to talk to. After the procedure I received an update through the "follow my health" app on my phone (from the hospital) saying that the results show I might have a serious problem. I called the office and Dr. Chen made room to see me ASAP and assured me that it was an error and there was no real problem. So, don't trust everything you find in an "app". I took my 86 years of age mother there for a second opinion regarding a Colonoscopy and Endoscopy that was recommended by a RNP at another Gastroenterologist office due to laboratory test findings of fecal occult blood. Dr. Tim Chen, was very pleasant and personable upon meeting my mother and I, he took time to review all the paperwork's and lab results that I brought to him from her recent hospitalization and lab-workups. Dr. Chen asked several probing questions regarding my mother's present health condition. Dr. Chen spoke to my mother in a manner that was both caring and sympathetic, but yet very professional and concise. Dr. Chen explained the different procedures and tests that would be available, if she choose to proceed forward in that direction. Dr. Chen confirmed my mother's understanding to everything he had explained to her regarding the pros and cons of all the different procedures and tests, and added his own personal opinion as well. Both my mother and I felt extremely comfortable with his incredible kind, patient, and thorough bedside manner, neither she or I felt that he was in a rush, which is the case with most doctors' visits, however, Dr. Chen, took his time reviewing and speaking with both my mother and I.
