If I had the option to do ZERO STARS I WOULD! We have been going to timberlain for 20 years. My 3 children and myself have had many bad exsperiences in the past couple years. We waited 8 months to get a teeth cleaning then at the last minute they canceled and told us they couldnt get us in for another few weeks. Zero teeth cleaning option, and many, many months wait! I set up my daughters teeth cleaning and specifically said absolutley no x-rays just a teeth cleaning, they did xrays anyway. When I talked to billing they said it doesnt matter if you said no x-rays your daughter is over 18 yrs old she could have said no. seriouly.... they dont give a crap about how you feel about xrays as we have stated multible times we dont want them throughout the years we have been. also insurance only covers every few years so we have to pay for them. its all about the money not caring about beliefs or how many times you have expressed your rights NOT to have them. they will not take the xray fee off the bill. Today I had a tooth emergeny and needed a chipped tooth fixed. they wouldnt look at it and fix it on the same day, (it took a few days out to even schedule) I went in and they made me wait over 20 mins I sat down and I timed the Dentist. they looked at my tooth to evaluate and it took the dentist 4 minutes exactly! they told me I'd have to set another appointment to have it fixed. They were going to charge me $125.00 for my 4 minute exam!!!!!!! How about I charge you for my time waiting over 20 minutes! I asked why is it separate charge for 4 mins/why wouldnt that be part of the fee for fixing the tooth? They said well its a doc appointment. NO BS, an apointment is atleast a procedure that would take 1/2 to 45 mins like a teeth cleaning well any time slot... i was in your chair 4mins! THEY ARE ONLY LOOKING TO CHARGE YOU AS MUCH AS THEY CAN! The billing people are Rude, and augumentive! STARTING LOOKING FOR NEW DENTIST RIGHT AWAY. I brought my twins to Timber Lane Pediatric Dentistry in Essex Junction yesterday. The doctor waited for about 20 seconds for the numbing gel to kick in, but I don't think that was sufficient time before giving my 4, almost 5 , year old an injection in her gum because she writhed in pain crying. She had been fine until then. With nitrous mask on and all. It was Dr. Tom Ruescher. Then the numbing medicine must not have had enough time to kick in either because my daughter was again in pain when the dental assistant, Kara, inserted a metal tooth ring. My daughter sobbed softly "you hurt me!" The dental assistant turned on my daughter in a stern voice "No, I did not hurt you! That did not hurt! I didn't hurt you!) I need to find another dental practice. I had called to ask how long topical gel takes to take affect and I was told by another doctor 10-15 seconds. Contrary to the research I have seen. It seems that the practice rushed on purpose to make it unbearably painful for my very compliant child so that they could get us to change to full anesthesia at the hospital. That place is not one of integrity nor is it humane. Where are the regulations? Why aren't there minimum time requirements implemented? I have suggestions for making their practice better. Nobody is perfect and we can all improve, myself included. The practice could improve their services especially for children: 1. Waiting longer after applying topical numbing gel. So that the numbing gel can adequately numb the area and the injection can be as pain free as possible. 2. Wait longer for the injected local anesthesia to take effect. So that the child is not in pain and traumatized. 3. Allow for children to take the nitrous mask off, if they want. Their little bodies know when they have had enough. 4. Listen to patients and their families. 5. Treat the patient and their families like people, not numbers. Would you (the doctor and dental assistants) have done everything the exact same way if it had been your four-year-old son/daughter in your dental chair? I hardly think so. Timberlane Dental Group | Facebook kicked the girls out of the practice due to a conversation that took place between myself and a billing woman. I received a letter. Here is my response: Hello, I received your letter in today's mail regarding the removal of Kristi and Bella as patients at your practice. I didn't realize my questioning of billing practices was cause for such action. My issue with the billing practice was the inaccurate information, and accusations that I had not provided the proper insurance information for Kristi. In the two years that Kristi has been receiving Orthodontic treatment, not once was our private insurance billed for any of it. I was told that your practice had no knowledge of private insurance. That is incorrect, as our private insurance is billed for all dental work. I stated this. Your practice reached out to medicaid for approval and payment of her orthodontic treatment, as you did for Bella. In previous appointments for Bella's orthodontics, medicaid was only billed, despite us also having private insurance. From the beginning, medicaid was reached out to for approval of treatment. For a bill to be sent out of the blue and us receiving a bill from our private insurance was unheard of. The only thing I did was defend myself against the accusation of not having provided the full insurance information, which I advised I had done so on numerous occasions and however it was in the system was on them, not me as I had done my due diligence. I was told that potentially the billing would be looked at and revised/sent to our private insurance. I advised that if they were to do that, then Medicaid should be informed as well as only they were billed. I did not feel I did anything wrong in defending myself and trying to get answers without the accusations. I was not anticipating the accusations when I was merely attempting to get clarification, which was not given even by the end of the call. I have had no other complaints with your practice. Bella and Kristi enjoy going to your practice and like all the staff, as do my husband and I. This was the first occurrence of me being talked to in such a fashion. Despite this, I had no intention of leaving the practice. I just wanted things to be straightened out, which, again, did not happen. To be fair, Kristi and Bella did nothing to be kicked out of the practice. Neither did my husband and I. Please reconsider so they can receive the care they deserve. If an apology is what you're looking for, I apologize for my part. At the same time, I feel I too am due one. Again, please reconsider for the sake of the girls. Thank you. UPDATE: A woman from HR called, no more willing to listen than the billing woman. In fact, in addition to her sharing my words, which were twisted by the billing woman, she accused my husband of being inappropriate in a sexual manner (verbally) to a hygienist. She read to me the note in the chart, not sure who's 'cause she refused to say, and then refused to tell him exactly what it said. IF this is how they treat people, and obviously it is, they don't deserve to have a practice of any kind. The doctor couldn't be professional enough to call himself. He had to be use someone else to do his dirty work. He couldn't call to discuss the interaction because he didn't care enough to hear my side and the truth of his employee's actions. I normally see an orthodontist near Boston, but I was in Vermont staying with family for over a month, and a wire on my braces was getting very long and painfully cutting into my cheek. I called Timberlane in the morning, they got me an appointment that same afternoon, and Dr. Lumberg clipped my wire in 5 minutes. It was a huge lifesaver, and they didn't charge me even though I was not a regular patient and from out of state! Everyone was so nice and helpful while I was in a pinch. read more

Dr. Tom Ruescher is our two little one's dentist and he is fantastic. Great with being able to soothe kids, really helped with how to have our toddler sit to help brush. Never a poor experience. read more

My five-year-old son has had a cavity for over six months. We have gotten over 3 to 4 different appointments for this one appointment ,they are supposed to fix his cavity. So we take time off from school and work to go to these appointments and every single time we get there they tell us that he isn't scheduled. But they are the ones calling my phone and telling me when his appointment is. We have took in so much unnecessary time from school and work just to get dicked around for nothing. They also do not do emergency appointments for children I think it's ridiculous that this dental office does not do that if a child is in pain they need to be seen right away apparently this dental office doesn't believe in that so I will be switching my son and daughter ASAP read more

My family moved here a year ago but it took awhile before we had insurance. When we did, I checked this place out. They were kind, courteous and worked with our schedule. I was surprised how quickly we were able to get in for new patient exams and cleanings. They worked well with my kids too. No complaints. read more
