Lots of windows and a beautiful ocean view. Wish it had been warm enough to enjoy the patio but with the rainy and chilly air, we found a nice table inside and near the windows. I chose the pumpkin salad. There was a lot of things in the salad that I wasn't sure I'd like but the combination of everything rocked. It had nice flavors and textures. The roasted pumpkin and chickpeas were a nice contrast in textures. All so good. You sit anywhere and order at the counter. They bring your food. The staff worked well as a team. Great experience.

So, I chose an entree and asked for a salad on the side......well! The look on the server's face was one of pure distaste and reeked of: "oh, you're one of those pests are you"? Made me feel the need to explain that I have tumours in my stomach and AIAGastritis and Crohns. Still unobliging and surly! No one should ever feel ashamed about a serious health condition when going out. We don't eat out much so, on the rare occasion we do....to come across this is disconcerting. I would say - think twice before coming here now if you eat small. Lovely food though. So many tables had half eaten meals being left. Such wastage!. ALSO, THE PROPRIETORS KEEP REMOVING THE CHECK IN TAG TO MY FB POST.

We walked in after being enticed by the lower prices and found three women behind the counter, laughing and cutting up with each other - there was just a great vibe in this happy little cafe. We stayed and are glad we did! They have a large selection of pies, pasties, pastries, desserts and sandwiches, served cold, hot or as toasties. We opted for the turkey, swiss, cranberry and spinach on focaccia- toasted. It was delicious and large. We also split a Napoleon (vanilla slice to Aussies) and had a cream soda and ginger beer - $39. Granted it meant the sodas and desserts must have been as much or close to the sandwich but the prices weren't listed for those so was a bit of a shock when the sandwiches were only $8.80. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. So check the prices before you order any extras you may want! Overall everything was first rate and uber fresh.

While eating there, around 30 minutes, there been at least 4 groups of Australian coming in to get food, including the girls from the local lifeguards located around 15-20 minutes walk. The place had a quiet small town restaurant feel to it. Service wise, the lady taking the orders was like she had just eaten a bitter gourd, didn't smile and was not pleasant at all. Nevertheless she took our orders quickly and prepared the food quickly. She was also attentive as she quickly came to assist when I walked over to the dessert display after the meal. There was another helper, making the drinks and sandwich. We ordered couple of pies, fish burger and drinks. The pie was great, not too salty and contain chunks of meat, imho better than that of Dinkum Pie at The Block, Melbourne. Not only was it better, it was also much cheaper but after all this is a small town compared to Melbourne. The fish burger was large and was freshly prepared with fresh greens in it. Overall the food was good and the pricing was cheap.
