The busier stores always have good service and good staff. The mall staff themselves are great. Guest services is among the most helpful in the GTA. What needs improvement in this mall is it needs proper expansion and removal of outdated stores (when the lease expires of course). There is no distinction in the direction of what the mall is selling as a category. On the weekends it gets crowded with all sorts of demographics shopping. The security staff seem swarmed. And parking is a game of survival! I expect it to improve once a proper tenant or use has been found for the now vacant Hudson Bay and the surrounding area. Right now I recommend most to visit on the weekdays, unless bumper cars in the parking lot is a ideal.

Fairview Mall has gone through an evolution and reimagination of the retail space. I love how they redeveloped the space where Sears used to be. The space is now converted into a mini Chinatown spot with Saint Germain bakery, bubble tea shop, Hong Kong style cafe, Thai restaurant, and a T&T Supermarket. On the top floor there's a Marshalls / Homesense big box store. I noticed the Zara store has been renovated and now occupying 2 levels. The store looks immaculate and love the modern layout and self serve checkout kiosks to make shopping faster for DIY people. I managed to do some shopping at H&M and got some great deals in the sale section. I also bought some groceries like green beans, lychee, bbq pork buns, and curry beef pastries. It's not very often you can go to regional mall and be able to buy clothes, groceries, and bakery goods. It was a pleasant experience. I look forward to the transformation of the vacant Hudson Bay space. Oh did I mention they have a Playdium arcade in the old Sportchek space beside the Cineplex theatre.

We were quite impressed with the mall setting up a food truck festival just located on the north east parking lot. What a great idea! There were about 12 food trucks with amazing choices of food. Here is the list of items we tried: 1) Tut's - Egyptian food - we got the combo which includes 2 sandwiches and 1 side and drink for $11.50. Great deal! You must try their Ferakh sandwich (grilled chicken)...so good! 2) Golden - Korean food - we got the Bulgogi poutine - this was amazing as well. 3) La Novela - Latin food - we got the baja fish taco which was perfectly done. A little pricey...3 tacos for $16 Overall, all the food was amazing. We will definitely be back very soon for both the shopping and street food!

They are the best rice rolls that I have ever have. A couple of doors down from Millstone is Cha Miao. I love the bubble tea at this store, especially the citrus ones where staff pound them down to deliver fresh fruit tea with all the toppings. Both are located at Golden Court Plaza. I just learned of its name yesterday because I'm horrible figuring out plaza names. However, I am great knowing where stores are. The downside of this plaza is the volume of cars. I like that it's designed as a one-way flow. The problem is that you have folks parked off to the side illegally, which causes traffic flow issues. You then have folks waiting for a parking spot and it gets ugly. All this congestion happens in front of all businesses. What many shoppers don't know is that there is free underground parking. There is a three-hour limit. The catch is to not enter the plaza where the surface parking is to get to the underground entrance. There's another entrance behind the main entrance. It looks like a shady backroad to death, but once you get to the end, you make a sharp left turn down to the indoor parking lot. My other suggestion is that if you have mobility issues, you want surface parking. I only found a set of stairs to use to get between the two floors. Maybe I missed the elevator, but it wasn't clear to me that there was one. I was pleased that I got underground parking. Last night, I visited my two favourite businesses and left once I had picked up my orders. I'd like to explore more businesses in this plaza. The three-hour limit helps. I'll try again when it's not dinnertime on a Saturday evening. I wouldn't know how to improve the surface parking and the congestion in this plaza. I kind of hoped they have expanded in the last 8 years but it's roughly the same. Cute vendors by the small alleyway where you can get knockoffs to Japanese tea to stickers. It's Japanese town so slightly unsure why there would he knockoffs there sold by a non Japanese person knowing Japan doesn't support counterfeit - to each their own. The supermarket is rather small as well. I guess it's sadly the only place where some Japan feels can be obtained. Of course pricing is quite hefty, everything is definitely way more expensive since products are imported. The custom made stickers / pins etc inside the small market were very expensive though. Very tiny pin was $8. Tempted but definitely not desperate, it was about maybe 1.5cm in size, wild. I'll just have my mom send me Japan stuff from Japan instead to be frank. It's a nice place to go for a quick stop-by though.

Between two people, we got the vegetable tempura on rice with udon soup. Both were great, I enjoyed both equally. Tempura was not super soggy and the broth of the udon was flavourful We were both content with the meal!

Its home to my favourite camera store, Aden Camera, where I purchase most of my hardware. They also have great tasting food from several outlets and stalls. A couple friends and I decided to do a food challenge to see what we could each get for CDN$20. We met the challenge and enjoyed some great tasting food. Our preferred vendors included QQ Noodle King, Go Curry, Chloe's Convenience, Hi Anna's Basket, Shark's Fin City, and Prairie Lamb Kabob. This mall has something for everyone. Check them out!

Like others have mentioned, its more of a booth space versus a mall environment. It feels like the…read morenight markets where you have to negotiate or walk around to find the best deals. Because of that, it can be a little jarring and timely to walk the entire mall area to get what you are looking for. Tons of stores sell the same items - phone cases, Sanrio items, jewelry, keychains, random goods. They also have service focused booths - health, nails, hair, beauty. Vendors also call out to you and sell hard once you are inside a place. Definitely try to negotiate your price or walk away because other stands might sell something similar for less or better value overall. Know your items! Not bad if you are looking around for stuff but also make sure you walk around before settling. Consider that my lesson learned! Food court has a lot of variety and seats come and go. Plenty of options to pick from. Very busy on the weekends. Manageable on weekdays.

It can be mistaken for Woodside Square, which is the shopping mall at McCowan and Finch in Scarborough. I used to come here often. Gone are stores such as Roots, Danier, Michaels, and Club Monaco. These days, I shop at Winners, Staples, Kitchen Stuff Plus, Chapters, and Longo's. I like the Kelsey's Roadhouse when I feel like wings and things. There's also a Home Depot and Winco Supermarket. I haven't been to either store. One of these days, I'll give them a try. There is lots of parking. A few years ago, a number of electric charging stations were set up across from Kelsey's. Often, you'll see folks sitting in their cars, waiting for them to charge up before they take off. The Chapters no longer has a Starbucks. It's a shame because I loved grabbing a drink and casually perusing the store while sipping. If you do need your Starbucks fix, you can get it at Longo's. You can earn double the points by scanning both your Starbucks rewards and Longo's barcodes. The old Michaels store is now a Joe Fresh outlet. I still need to drop by and see what goodies I can get. It's situated on the northeast corner of Warden Avenue and Highway 7, across the street from Markham Civic Centre. My first visit here was in grade 12. I wanted to go to my first major concert. Madonna was doing a couple of shows at SkyDome. I'm dating myself and I don't care. I needed a wristband to get my place in line, well before doing anything online was a thing. My best bet was getting one at a music store at Markham Town Square. My dad drove us up here. We lived in the Beaches. My mom wrote a letter to show my teachers that I needed to be excused from their classes. Thank goodness I was a good kid and student to swing this arrangement! In short, I got my tickets. I paid for them, even though my dad insisted on paying. I was elated. I made it back to school in time for my French class. I couldn't stop smiling. Markham Town Square will always have a special place in my heart. Little did I know that I'd become a Markhamite and visit this place regularly years later. This music store is long gone. There used to be a Chinese restaurant between the No Frills, and Town Gift & Postal Service. It has changed names over the years. It's the only store that is vacant these days. No Frills is your grocery store. I never have any problems finding what I need here. The selection is decent and I've never been disappointed shopping here. Town Gift & Postal Service is a non-descript store that you wouldn't expect to be a post office. People often hit Shoppers Drug Mart and are disappointed to learn that it doesn't have a post office. Town Gift & Postal Service is your post office. The folks who run this store are nice. It does get busy thanks to the post office part of this business. There used to be a Mr. Sub. It's gone. I was sad. I'm happy to see that a Korean eatery is about to take its place. I probably frequent these businesses the most: - Shoppers Drug Mart - Felix & Norton Cookies - McDonald's This Shoppers is convenient to get to. If I need to grab something quickly, I can here. There's lots of parking that it's rarely an issue. Felix & Norton Cookies are amazing. I love their gourmet cookies, perhaps more than I should. It's the butter that makes them so decadent. It has Pusheen products, which is a bonus. I like this McDonald's. Staff are friendly and I have yet to have anyone mess up my order. I tend to hit the drive-thru. This plaza has another drive-thru, which makes it stand out. You rarely see a couple of drive-thrus in close proximity, but you do here. The other is Scotiabank. The lane is tighter than McD's, but it works. For the longest time, the store where Canada Computers & Electronics is was vacant. It used to be a Future Shop. When it shuttered for good, it was empty for years, with a brief stint as a returning office for one of the elections. I love Canada Computers. It brings out the geeky side of me. There is a lot to look at and prices are pretty good. Next to Canada Computers is Honeymoon Dessert. It was previously a Menchie's. It's a nice addition to get your dessert fix, including really good fruit teas. I have frequented Cora's, Teriyaki Experience, and Pizza Pizza over the years. All have been at this plaza for years. I still haven't visited all businesses. Wonton Hut comes to mind. One of these days, I'll cave and place an order. This plaza has everything I need. Food. Burgers. Cookies. Computer accessories. For the location, being in the middle of a residential area, it really has potential but for whatever reason, there is little to no action here. A walk-in clinic is on the second floor, and various random businesses on floors two to six, including two private schools. The Food Basics is at the back of the mall. Parking at the front of the mall is limited, usually reserved for Shoppers and Santorini patrons. Ample parking at the back. A significant face lift is needed to bring some life back to this plaza.

Thornhill Centre does have a couple of food places in it, including subway and a sushi store, but other than that it's really just a place to go if you need to visit the bank located in the centre or to grab a bite to eat.
