I didn't understand why he needed more money if I still had almost $20K available, but I never got it back. Being new to law, I think he was afraid of the court system and wanted to walk instead of fight. I was able to salvage the train wreck from a terrible mortgage loan he and his friend orchestrated for me (to pay his fees) and got a load modification through my original mortgage company.
