***Because of Yelp's character limit, I will also be including photographs of the screen shots of my original review. They will be numbered in the order they should be read- you will have to look through the photographs to find them**** I thought about attempting to shorten my review, but couldn't decide what to take out to shorten it and still do it justice... There are four additional review photographs total in the photo section of DCD Law yelp page....*** So much to say regarding my experience working with Kevin Moghtanei with DCD Law.  I believe my search for the right criminal defense attorney to have been one of the most intense and considerable decisions I have ever had to make.   Searching for a criminal defense attorney is just as crucial and important as finding the correct specialist for a medical condition...  The critical nature of my son's situation resorted in the need for me to find the absolute right lawyer for the job. My son was looking at a good 8 years, plus the parole violation.  After having spoken with many, many criminal defense attorneys, I finally made the decision to retain Kevin as our attorney, and before he even began working on our case it was evident, I had made the right decision.   My son is 23 years old and somewhere between the ages of 17-19 was found guilty and convicted of two felony STRIKES for assault and attempted robbery... After serving 2 years in a California State Correctional Facility, my son was released on parole almost two years ago. A couple of weeks before his parole hearing he was picked up for "an attempted assault with a deadly weapon, as well as for being in possession of a dirk dagger." My son was still on parole for his previous case. Just a whole other layer to the situation.   There are many conditions of parole that could result in a violation which would require my son to have to complete the remaining time he had on his PREVIOUS case-  he was released early determinant upon his adherence to said parole conditions including but not limited to not getting picked up by the police for new cases, as well as not being in possession of anything that could be considered or used as a weapon more than three inches.   While attempting to turn in some recyclables at a Lancaster recycling center, my son got into a verbal argument with a man who was harassing one of the female employees at the center. He and the man argued and after making threats the man went off to call the police; meanwhile, my son picked up a piece of scrap metal off the floor thinking this guy went off to grab a weapon.   My son was charged with assault with a deadly weapon as the man stated he tried to hit him with his car, as well as the possession of a dirk dagger...  STRIKE THREE... If convicted, my son would have spent the rest of his life in a state correctional facility.  My son has three-month-old twin daughters... That and the thought of him spending the rest of his life in prison was the reason for my determination to find an attorney I knew I could trust. At his arraignment, my son was assigned a public defender who encouraged him to take the first deal the prosecutor offered because "after all, you are a felon- you have two strikes already and are on parole, how do you think the judge sees you?" It is common and no surprise that individuals with prior records have to deal with negative stigmas, even if they have been perfect parolees for two consecutive years.   Unfortunately, negative public perception as well as negative stigmas are also something attorneys face, which doesn't make your decision for choosing one easy.  It was a scary process. If I chose an attorney that saw my son's case as an easy payday or saw him as just another felon, what could that have possibly meant for him? Felon yes, but he's also a person who deserves honest, ethical and non-biased representation...  ****Please look at photographs to continue reading this review***

I didn't understand why he needed more money if I still had almost $20K available, but I never got it back. Being new to law, I think he was afraid of the court system and wanted to walk instead of fight. I was able to salvage the train wreck from a terrible mortgage loan he and his friend orchestrated for me (to pay his fees) and got a load modification through my original mortgage company. So, I came out better. Anyway, you don't need to take my word for it. Just look him up on the State Bar's website (https://apps.calbar.ca.gov/attorney/Licensee/Detail/240436). You can see that he's been disciplined and at the time of this post, HE IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO PRACTICE LAW. Good luck with you situation. I hope you find a good attorney.

I don't write many reviews, but after the outcome of my case, I felt David Russomanno deserved one…read more I am an attorney myself, so I am extremely particular about who I trust to represent me. This was also not an ordinary legal matter. It was a highly contested dual restraining order case with significant personal and professional consequences for me, and the outcome was extremely important. I was the person who originally filed for a restraining order. After my petition was filed, the other party filed a competing restraining order request against me. In my view, the other petition essentially took many of the issues and allegations I had raised, mirrored them back against me, and created a false and misleading narrative portraying me as the wrongdoer. Suddenly, I wasn't just pursuing my own restraining order--I also had to defend myself against serious allegations that I knew were not true. Being an attorney didn't make that easier. In some ways, it made it more difficult. When someone is making false statements about you and your reputation and career are potentially at stake, your instinct is to respond to everything and immediately correct every misrepresentation. This is where David's representation really made a difference. From the beginning, David had a strategy and a plan. He understood that we couldn't simply react to every accusation the other side made. We needed to take control of the narrative, establish the chronology of what actually happened, identify the inconsistencies in the competing petition, organize the evidence, and present the complete story to the court. As a lawyer myself, there were certainly times when I had my own ideas about how we should respond or what we should emphasize. But I also recognized that I was personally invested in the case and needed someone who could remain objective. I trusted David's judgment, followed his guidance, and allowed him to execute the strategy we had developed. That trust paid off. When it came time for the hearing, we were prepared. David was able to cut through what could easily have become a confusing "he said/she said" situation involving two competing restraining order petitions. David was able to join the cases before the first hearing date. Then at the hearing he first succeeded in modifying the other party's temporary orders by presenting the evidence and sequence of events in a way that allowed the court to understand what had actually occurred and see through the false narrative being presented against me. After David modified the temporary order the other party wanted a 2nd call to speak to David and he persuaded the party to drop their restraining order. Looking back, I have an even greater appreciation for David's strategy. He wasn't concerned with winning every small argument or reacting emotionally to every allegation. He was thinking several steps ahead and positioning the case so that when it mattered most--in front of the judge--we were ready. As a fellow attorney, I understand the difference between simply knowing the law and knowing how to strategically litigate a difficult case. When you're personally involved, however, maintaining that same objectivity becomes incredibly difficult. David provided that objectivity while also understanding just how important the outcome was to me. This case had enormous personal and professional importance to me. I put my trust in David Russomanno's judgment, preparation, and strategy, and he delivered the result we were working toward. As both a client and a fellow attorney, I highly recommend David. If you are dealing with a complicated or highly contested restraining order matter--particularly one involving competing allegations--you want someone who can look beyond the accusations, focus on the evidence, develop a strategy, and effectively present the true story to the court. That's exactly what David did for me.

I hired David after a California domestic violence restraining order petition was filed against me…read moreby a family member. I live out of state, had never been in this type of situation before, and was terrified--not only because of the court process, but because of the possible professional consequences if the case went badly. The first law firm I hired reviewed the facts and essentially concluded that I was probably going to lose. I then found David, and from the very first conversation, it was clear he saw the case differently. He did not minimize the situation or sugarcoat anything, but he immediately understood that there was more going on than what appeared on paper. He had a command of the procedural issues, the courtroom dynamics, and the strategy in a way that gave me confidence when I had almost none left. What stood out most was that David was not just technically excellent--he was creative, strategic, responsive, and genuinely caring. He understood my state of mind, took my fears seriously, and explained his plan in a way that made me feel protected rather than judged. He was always available when I needed him and treated the case with urgency and humanity. In the end, my mother and I did not even have to fly to California or appear remotely. David appeared for us, spoke directly with the other side at court, and by the time the matter resumed, the petitions against both of us were dropped. That result was an enormous relief. I went from believing I was about to lose everything to walking away with the case dismissed. David is the kind of lawyer people hope exists when they are scared and overwhelmed--the kind of lawyer you see in movies but do not expect to find in real life. I am incredibly grateful that I called him and trusted him.
