I definitely would not recommend this person to anyone. From the first meeting I thought I hired a shark that was going to take care of all my best interests in a divorce. He was quick to get the information, quick to get the retainer but after that it all went down hill. First day of court he was late, so late I had to tell the court he was running late. My ex's lawyer was there but not him. He did not notify me he was running late, I had to call and find out. When he finally showed up over 15 minutes late. he was unprepared. It seemed he was not ready to represent me. That same day he was talking back and forth with the ex's lawyer and seemed to listen to her more than me so much so that when they worked out a temporary agreement it was in her favor including a 3500 (act of good favor) for my ex. Not to mention the High child support and alimony (approx. 4366 per month) that he said was only temporary. Fast forward past months of extensions finally get a second court date where when we showed up on, on time this time, he didn't know the ex and I went to child custody mediation and had an agreement that was better than the first on he got me with her lawyer... so busted court appearance. I was frustrated so had him set up a mediation between my ex, her lawyer, Tim and I. He was against it, he wanted to fight it out in court (more money), I wanted mediation. All parties agreed to the mediation. At the mediation where I assumed we all were going to talk out the terms of the divorce, he had my ex and I sit in a room by ourselves while he and her lawyer went to go talk. I guess the 2 lawyers mediated our terms without having my ex and I in the room for input. They came out with an agreement (which was not exactly what I wanted). The other parties left and he talked to me and told me the agreement. I was not completely happy with it because he missed a couple things that I wanted to negotiate, and also told me her lawyer was going to fill out the paperwork. I told him I wanted him to do the paperwork to ensure that it was filled out promptly and accurately. He advised me to have my ex to fill out the paperwork to save on money. Once again I told him I was not happy. Almost a six months go by, no dissolution of marriage, bunch of phone calls, still paying that high child support and alimony (which Tim told me was only temporary), and her lawyer finally puts together a word document with bullet points instead of legal verbiage on proper court forms for me to sign. I said no and demanded it to be written on proper forms and proper verbiage. Second draft comes on proper forms and verbiage and it was still wrong. A lot of stuff we agreed on was missing. Finally a final draft came out which supposedly my lawyer reviewed and I skimmed over and signed. I screwed up on this by missing the bills section which she owed which was not on the paperwork. Now for the fun part... Almost a eight months of no dissolution of marriage, bunch of phone calls, still paying that high child support and alimony (which Tim told me was only temporary), and a notice that we have to go to court due to inactivity of case I am still calling trying to get answers when all of a sudden while I was at work I checked on the case status and I saw I the judgement on the dissolution. Approximately 2+ weeks later I get the paperwork from my lawyer. I get to finally pay a lower child support and alimony, I do my part of the agreement by signing over the car which she had possession of the whole time and everything else including paying my lawyer for all the phone calls I was making trying to find out what was going on with the case. Shortly after that I get a letter from my lawyer stating they are no longer representing me since the case is over. To my surprise a year later I get a letter from my former lawyer's office from my ex's lawyer petitioning the court to fix (increase the alimony portion) due to miscalculations on the judgement. I call my former lawyer to find out what was going on and get a run around. So now I am on my own and working to fix the cluster I have with my ex. I will not hire him again. The story above is the reason for my rating, it doesn't mean he is a bad lawyer, or that he is like this with all of his other clients it was just me stating the facts of my case why I gave him the rating. Very unprofessional. The staff is constantly changing and it makes it hard to keep up with what's happening with cases and my payments a lot. The attorney is okay but he can sometimes be very rude. It was a problem dealing with the paralegal cause she never returns calls and does everything all last minute. I wouldn't recommend the office for family cases. read more
