When I started seeing Doctor Allen approx. 7 years ago for chronic neuropathic pain and myoclonic seizures, I was being prescribed 6 drugs by other doctors. Thanks to Dr. Allen, I'm now down to half the amount. Also, Dr. A. encouraged me to use acupuncture to help reduce my neuropathic pain. This non-invasive mode of treatment has changed my life. Here's an added bonus: a therapy dog at the office! This wonderful pup brightened my day. If you have an opportunity to meet the office's therapy dog, I guarantee it'll brighten your day, too! Timothy Jay Allen, a psychiatrist formerly practicing at Fort Collins Neurology, was suspended on March 15, pending further action by the Board. The Board took the emergency action over concern that Allen "used his medical license, along with his position of trust and supervision over medical students, to engage in prescription drug diversion" by asking students to fill prescriptions in their names and then give the drugs to him for his use. Based on the information the Board reviewed, and following Allen's appearance at a pre-suspension hearing, the Board concluded it had "objective and reasonable grounds to believe and finds that [Allen] deliberately and willfully violated the Medical Practice Act and/or that the public health, safety, or welfare imperatively requires emergency action." A summary of the inquiry leading to the suspension is found in the Board's Order of Suspension, posted and open to public view on the state Department of Regulatory Agencies website.

I really didn't think it would work. Got a senior discount and a scholarship to cover registration so only cost $22.00, besides the class was guaranteed to help or it was free--nothing to lose. We started class and in minutes the shocks let up, before end of class they were gone. No pain. No more shocks the rest of the day. 3 days NO pain. This is worth so much just to have one normal day pain free! 3 was so good! 1/2 way thru the 4th day there were occasional milder shocks, level 2, so as we were told i need a tune-up. Doctor met with me for less than ten minutes and told me my symptoms were normal. Ear pain 90% of the time is normal? Don't think so. He was extremely condescending and told me I could go see a neurologist. Asked me no background questions or anything about symptoms. Looked in my ear nose and throat and told me I was fine. He kept telling me I didn't need an antibiotic, which I didn't want or think I needed. I finally and to tell him to stop telling me that because I knew I didn't need one or come in for one. Bill was almost $400 for a hearing test and maybe7 minutes with a rude physician. I do not recommend them!

Also mentions that I "hit the lottery with health issues." No bedside manner no sympathy and never asked any details about my migraines.
