I live in Beverly Hills and have always gone to Mr Greentrees, but stopped Tina's Trees in Calabasas and boy was I happy I did! Best Christmas tree we've had in five years! We always Went to Shawn's Christmas trees in West LA, and this year decided to try Tina's. What a difference! Sean's trees Would completely dry out after two weeks. Well before Christmas! Our tree from Tinas I've had for a month now and it's still green, like almost no needle shedding and still smells great! Do not go to Tina's trees. The guy who runs it is the nastiest man. He spoke really mean to one of the kids that was helping us, who was doing a great job, felt really bad for the kid who he put down in front of us. And then we asked him a question, he was rude and nasty and mean. Definitely not the xmas spirit. We left. And then they didn't have netting. If you want a great experience look elsewhere. We just found a great place where everyone is friendly and much more trees to pick from called Oregon family on Winnetka and Victory north west corner. read more

It is now closed! Now, it's just the same old parking lot that is use to be for the Farmer's Market on Saturday... I do have to say that the trees here were kind of lovely. I love the smell of them....and one day, I will have a christmas tree! Someday... hahaha. So... I did not come here in the cold winter night with hot cocoa and Christmas carols singing all around me... However, I am crazy busy these days and in the morning I decided to stop by and grab a tree quick. And, "quick" it was. I was able to get in and out with the perfect tree in literally less than five minutes. Instead of having to wait all night for someone to arrive with the delivery of my tree, I was so fortunate to have both Kyle and chance help deliver my perfect beautiful, bountiful, fat, chubby, fresh, green tree to my door within five minutes. I have never been so impressed. This is the best Christmas tree place in the world. The kids who were there are sweet, kind, good looking lol, (which never hurts), efficient, reliable & helpful !!! Well, Tina's lost another good customer that normally buys premium 10+ footers every year plus one or two 8 footers. The guy that runs the shop is nasty, was rude to everyone working on the lot and my wife. Basically he told her to leave for no good reason while being rude. TINA'S CHRISTMAS TREE LOT in Old Town Calabasas (right off Valley Circle near the Motion Picture Hospital) has opened for the season and WOW what a find. I went to five different tree locations looking for the perfect 8-9 foot tree that was also afordable, and I found 50 ot them here - all different kinds. I bought the "Nordmen" fresh from Oregon and it was perfectly shaped and smells so good. GET THIS - $120. with a small delivery fee and the nicest people in the world to help me. Today the tree was not drinking water so they sent someone to help me put the tree in another stand (mine was way too small). WOW - a great tree and great people and great service. I notice coming earlier in the December month guarantees a bigger tree if that's what you're looking for but a week before Christmas and they still had some good selections! Long overdue... I have gotten our tree here for the past two years and they have both been BEAUTIFUL and less expensive than the other lots around. I've been coming here for several years now and despite what you read on those 2 bad posts (I'm sure they are together) the place is amazing and the trees are exceptional. They will also deliver to your home for a very small fee - put the tree exactly where you want it etc. I've been there a few times this year and know they are busy busy but they are definitely not rude - the guy in charge included. I spoke to him myself yesterday about their deliveries and he was clearly busy but not dismissive or rude one bit! Give them a try and make your own decision. There are no dud trees on this lot either! read more

This place has the prettiest trees I have seen and the prices reasonable. I used to go to the large chain stores but never again. The trees are fresh and beautiful. The service is great, the staff very friendly. I needed the tree delivered and the delivery and set up was $35. They delivered the tree in an hour, set it up and showed me how to care for it. "Sir, I am sorry. This was an isolated incident." This was the response Tina gave me after I had gone home, come back to their lot, only to return my tree for a refund after being told by one of the workers, "Naw N*GG*, You F*&King trying to steal S*!T?" This was right before I thought my family's day was coming to a close, we had conquered the day, bought a tree and were heading home to decorate for Christmas, together, or so we thought. I visited the lot with my wife and two toddlers, 3 yrs and 19 months, to buy a tree as a family. The place was busy and help was hard to come by. Therefore, we picked a tree out, pulled the tag, my wife waited in line to pay while I watched our two children. When she returned with the tag stamped PAID multiple times, and a receipt for $113, I grabbed the tree in one hand and my daughter in the other, and proceed to the tree prep area. I am not a small guy. A guy stops me halfway there and carries it the rest of the way. I then hand my daughter to my wife, lay the tree down and begin to prep it because I have two toddlers and need to get out of there. (Those who have and had toddlers know what I mean.) Another quickly told me "Naw! I gotta do this." I let him prep the tree. I helped my wife take the kids to the car and returned with my ticket stamped paid on it. I show it to the guy and he looks suspiciously at it. He asks," Who helped you?" I said, "No one. We helped ourselves. Do you need the receipt?" He replied, "Yeah." I ran back to the car, to my wife and got the receipt. When I gave it to him he said, "This ticket is for a Douglas Fir and this here is a pine." (Side bar: Douglas Fir is a type of pine tree or so describes Wikipedia.) I Responded, "This is the right tree, match it to the tag." We reach to roll the tree over to find the tag and the guy stops, puffs his chest at me in a very aggressive manner, and loudly tells me, "Naw N*GG*, You F*&King trying to steal S*!T?" I quickly feel threatened, back up, pull out my phone and begin recording. The scarier part is that other guys came towards me. When I said I am calling the cops the guy that confronted me, took off. I quickly retreated to the office where Tina was and I proclaimed loudly enough to Tina and her daughter what I was called and I feel very unsafe and 911 is about to be called. They talked to me and offered their reassurance with no true response. They did not seem appalled. They were not overly or deeply concerned. I have just shy of 100 people that work for me at my place of work. When any does anything out of place I quickly respond and reassure my clients that I will make everything right. TIME OUT! Listen, I am a half black man, but in no way look black. Most people think I look Latino or Armenian or Arabic or half white and half Mexican. But, I was there with my black wife who has beautiful dark skin and our two beautifully chocolate children. Thank God they were in the car at this point and did not experience this situation. Once home and having a discussed the situation with my wife, we decided that we wanted to return what we now call the Devil Tree. My wife called Tina and explained to her how we always go to their lot for pumpkins and trees and it is a great time for our family. Tina casually listens and lightly apologizes but offers no true apology in any form. She seemed to stand up for her employee more so than for a customer that was in what he perceived a threatening situation. When I returned the tree and explained the story to one of the male managers, Tina chimed in without looking me in my eyes and said, "I'm sorry sir. This was an isolated incident." Unfortunately, for many people, these types of situations are daily and weekly occurrences. They happen frequently and to many, multiple times throughout the day. Our society needs owners like Tina to ensure that their employees are properly trained and know how to treat everyone, no matter who they are and how the employee feels. We need our society to realize that we all have different experiences and that when you pull back the layers we all have the desire to love, experience life in abundance, and share those experiences with others in a safe and caring environment.
