I started smoking cigars 2 years ago on a deployment and immediately loved it. When I returned this Tinder box was the first cigar store/lounge that I had ever been to. The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly which goes a long way. Richard is a avid long time cigar smoker and has a great memory. He will know what you like and everything about you, a true Southerner. The pricing of the cigars is great and they have a frame at selection. The selection isn't erotic but they have a solid stock. Coming in for the first time, I was a little doubtful on coming in from reviews that my friends have given me, and they weren't wrong. As I work in the Arboretum, it was fairly easy to get there so location is good, but in the very back so it is hard to find :( Stepping in I was greeted by a good atmosphere and customer service. Talking a little bit before I decide, I asked the Sales lady to recommend me a cigar that wasn't too strong but not completely bland either. Right off the back she ran me into the back and offered me it looked like one of the most Heaviest and Expensive cigars they sold. I was very discouraged from smoking after that, I thanked her for her time and walked out. I never was in their smoking lounge, but it seemed very small unfortunately. I won't be returning to this store anytime soon. read more

I myself don't have my experience on the topic, but from what I know this place is pretty good. Like most cigar places this is kind of a boys club, but I did see some women while I was there. This is the best place in Charlotte to sit and have an awesome cigar. Second would be the Southpark location.

Very good selection - probably every "US" Padron is available for example, as well as many other high end selections. It is, however, rather pricey as compared to other shops. Part of me knows that very well could be because it is "better", but the markup across the board is a bit steep, at least for me. I also rarely if ever see any deals, discounts, etc despite having signed up for the mailing list a number of times now. read more

I was a little weary based on some of the previous reviews but I'm certain people just look for things to complain about sometimes. The cigar selection, while not massive, is very nice. It has a bunch of cigars I haven't been able to find elsewhere (thus forcing me to spend more money than I would have liked). Someone mentioned the markup was insane, well I don't know where else they've been shopping because I thought the prices were fair, and in some cases lower by a dollar or more than previous smoke shops I've been to. The person who rang me out was very friendly and we had a nice little conversation. I can't comment on the lounge because I didn't stay but I would definitely return. read more

The staff here is quite knowledgeable and they have a fairly decent selection of cigars. However, I have been talked down to because of my age, which is an immediate turn off. The lounge is nice, but small and doesn't have any TVs or music. Overall, I would come back in search of a certain cigar, but it's nothing to write home about. read more

Nice place but not very welcoming at all. I sat in the lounge to have a smoke. It was full of guys but no one spoke to me. I tried several times to join in the conversation but got shut down each time. Very isolating experience, not what you want from a cigar lounge at all and I probably will not be back. read more
