Cute cafe with great milkshakes and fries. Average customer service but no major issues. The restaurant is old school good food

I came here with the family for a New Year's Day dessert. Creams Watford recently opened and its…read morehuge. It's at the top of town, so it is a trek to walk to if you are coming from the other end which we did. It has the classic purple and black décor. This Creams has a giant TV screen and also games room with a big screen on the floor, which kids and teenagers can enjoy. We all ordered Waffles, which you had to go to the till and pay first before they come and hand you your dessert. I ordered the PBJ waffle- that is peanut butter sauce with strawberry sauce drizzled on top with a choice of a side of whipped cream or ice cream. I chose ice cream. The Waffle was nice and thick. What I had a problem with was the out of balance sauces. The strawberry sauce was way too much, varying on sickley sweet. The Ice Cream although nice is very basic and did melt a little too quickly. The Waffles range between £5 to £6 My family had the Banofee Waffle and the Apple pie and custard Waffle which tasted sooooooo much better. To mark the day we went into their Photpbooth which you had a choice of a singular photo or the multi choice photo- we went with the latter. You pick your choice of background and take the photo. It said we had 4 tries to get the right shots but we ended up having two-not by choice. The print came out well and cost us £2 The staff are pleasant. Creams is in town and iam sure to revisit to try something else.

My daughters and I are fans of the Giraffe chain and have always said it was a shame that the…read morenearest ones to us in Harrow were either Belsize Park or Muswell Hill. So you can imagine how delighted we were when the Tesco Watford store was re-vamped and they stripped out the Kirspy Kreme doughtnuts and cafe and in came a Giraffe Restaurant! My elder daughter booked a table for 9 there for Saturday night as it was my granddaughter's 4th birthday treat before her party the following day. We arrived to discover my daughter a bit frazzled because they hadn't noted the booking down (How on earth? Not very professional!). My son-in-law was trying to fit 3 circular tables together in order to seat the 9 of us as not enough of the rectangular tables were free for us to butt them together. The staff realised that we didn't have enough room where they had attempted to seat us (as we also had a small pram with my 3 week old granddaughter in) and asked us to move to the other end end of the restaurant. No, still not perfect. We were right by the door and we still had 3 circular tables pushed together - hardly ideal! After this rather poor start to the evening, things were a lot better. If you've never tried them, you really must try the edamame (delicious soy bean pods wok fried in soy, chilli & mirin). I have to say this is the main reason for coming to Giraffe in my humble opinion. You get 2 bowls, one with the edamame and another empty one to put the pods once you've sucked the beans from them. Could've done with some packs of the wipes for our fingers having eaten the edamame(they didn't give us these until our dessert much later!). Of course there are other nice things on the starters menu like a mixed mezze, soup, olives and some meat things (don't eat meat out so not memorable for me). Main meals consist of burgers, grills, fish, pasta and salads - a mixture of Thai, Tex-Mex and European - fusion cuisine I believe it's called! At first glance the felafel "deluxe" burger I had didn't look that big but was very filling! Only criticism was the burger bun fell apart so I ended up using my cutlery to eat it. They also have some reasonably priced cocktails/mocktails, a variety of smoothies, "softies" which are soft drinks including juices but they also do fresh lemonade with mint which is highly recommended! Desserts are nice, if you've still got room to eat one! Not particularly cheap between £3.95 and £5.95 but when you have to choose between apple and red cherry crumble; banana waffle split; baked white chocolate, mascarpone & passion fruit cheesecake or tiramisu sundae (there are others these are just the ones I was contemplating!) it's a difficult decision! We didn't actually order dessert because we had a birthday cake with candles which the waiting staff brought out and sand Happy Birthday (out of key!) to my birthday granddaughter (who actually hates people singing it!). The waiting staff were pleasant enough. Was difficult to catch their attention at times, even though the restaurant wasn't full to capacity and one drink had to be requested again because it failed to arrive along with the rest of the drinks. So a mixed review for this restaurant. I would certainly go back again even if just to have the edamame! When you consider that there were 8 adults and 1 child, 3 of us had cocktails, some soft drinks and some beer our 3 course meal cost us each £23 which is not bad value.

Literally. The renovations were undertaken without closing the store and whilst I admit I did stop shopping here while they were being carried out, I returned, opening day, with a fist full of vouchers to entice me back. You now have to queue to get in the car park. But...it's worth it and they now have car park assistants who direct you to spaces (layout has changed in the car park and disabled bays are now near the main doors). Outside is the same except for the swanky new Giraffe restaurant we are lucky to have in Watford now... But that deserves its own review later! Inside. Customer services is in same place, bit small and under staffed for a super store perhaps. There's a new 'scan and shop' section which I still need to try but I see a lot if peeps are using it. Food to go area is fab. Think salad bar to help yourself, loads if sarnies to chose from and pre packed salad and sushi goodies. Also it's a good section to nip to if picnicking. Plus there's self serve tills for this section alone so it's super convenient. The new bakery. Wowsers. So middle class and rustic. I lurve. Wooden table a la farm house laden with baked goods and hearty loaves. Also a counter with lots of posh desserts (quite pricey) and cakes. It's quite hard to grasp this is now where all bread and cakes are though. But it's early days. The toilet is in this section. No sign though. Annoying. And only one in whole hench store which is disappointing. Harris and Hoole. Love the look. Great lattes. Will sample food am sure. Always busy and not keen on the buzzers they give you to wait for coffee. Bit ott. But there's a coffee cart directly outside store so I usually grab one there as less busy. Florence and Fred. Happy days. This section looks amazing. Trolleys are able to mooch the aisles and it really feels like a proper clothes store, better fixtures and layout/feel than Marks or Next. And stock is great, fab designs and cheap as chips. I always come away with something. Fitting rooms are spacious too. Rest of store super laid out. New pizza counter (still not a patch on Asda's counter pizzas though- listen up Mr Tesco!). Fruit and veg section is epic, so spacious and easier to navigate than before. Make up and health sections look great as does home wears. Proper department store vibes. Loving. Dangerous for my bank balance. Opticians and pharmacy both helpful and knowledgable. Tills are still bit queuey but lots of people are checking out the store so busier than usual I think. Defo worth a visit. You can spend a whole day in here which I guess is the point as it has a destination shopping feel now. They even do yoga and kids classes here. Massive thumbs up!!
