Not only do they continue to help our daughter grow and give her the personalized attention she needs in class, on the playground, in daycare. But they have gone to the whole way to the mat for her to advocate for the essential services she will need to continue to learn and grow. Our daughter may well be stronger and even safer years after she graduates from AMS because of their limitless advocating for her. Separately, our daughter is now communicating at what an independent assessment has said is a level 1.5 years above her age group. And she's an increasingly confident and determined little person. Someplace else, she might be reciting more things by rote or I don't even know what skill someone might need a toddler to have. Instead, she can and will tackle anything. It just doesn't occur to her there's something she can't do. They are an enormous part of that. And just great partners in all aspects. I'm a better mom because I know them. Arcadia Montessori school is not just a school of magnificently talented, dedicated and kind people. They *love* their students. They advocate for and protect kids way beyond what one could reasonably expect from anyone other than immediate family. They just bring tears to my eyes - more than I'd like to admit! And just yesterday when I went to pick up our daughter who otherwise has deep separation anxiety said - mama, can you come back a little later?

Both kids started at AMS around the age of 2.5, after they were potty trained. Both absolutely thrived in this environment and saw incredible development milestones throughout their time at AMS. The teachers and administration at this school are simply incredible. Each teacher and administrator showed an incredible amount of genuine attention and affection for our children. As children move through the school, through the different classes across age ranges, and through their development, each teacher has age-appropriate and individual child specific support for the little ones. We unfortunately started at this school during Covid so we had limited access and engagement early on. However, as things reopened, we had an ability to come to the school for events, come make independent visits, and engage more in the day-to-day activities of our kids. Under the leadership of Mrs. Cheryl Roberts, our children were provided with an incredibly supportive environment to learn, grow, and to most importantly be kids. Our children showed incredible development throughout their time at AMS. I can confidently say that their reading, speech, math, and life skills developed significantly because of the attention and help of the teachers and administration of the school.

He was always excited to go to school and loved sharing what he learned each day. The teachers are kind, patient, and genuinely care about the children. One of the biggest conveniences for our family has been that meals are provided, which makes daily routines much easier for working parents. Ms. Emilene (administrator) stayed in touch with us the whole time and let us know as soon as the center reopened and started taking students again. Our daughter was able to start right as she turned 2 -- around the same time we were expecting our second child. The safety procedures the school had put in place made us feel comfortable. Being new parents, we were nervous that our daughter might not enjoy her time there or feel abandoned. The pre-primary teachers were loving, caring, and attentive, and always made her feel safe and seen. The tears faded quickly, and soon she was having fun in class. The teachers were a blessing when it came to potty training and teaching table manners. As she moved on to the Primary and Advanced Primary classes, her teachers helped instill real independence and a love of learning -- she was reading by age 4. We had just as wonderful an experience when we enrolled our son in the toddler program at age 1. The teachers were attentive and careful with diaper changes and his food allergy. I also want to give a special shout-out to Mr. Anthony, who prepares all the meals and snacks for the kids (yes, meals and snacks are included in tuition once children reach pre-primary!). He creates menus that expose kids to a variety of foods while carefully considering choking hazards and allergies. My kids still tease me that they like his mac and cheese better than mine! I am sad to say that this is our last summer with Montessori Academy as my son (now 4) is on his way to TK next year. Montessori Academy does an amazing job preparing children for grade school (teaching them how to read and write!) while creating a safe space for them to grow into themselves. Our kids have felt loved and cared for, and they've learned so much during their time there. I truly appreciate the effort the staff puts into developing a curriculum that offers such diverse learning experiences. I can't say enough about how grateful we are for everyone at Montessori Academy -- and on top of it all, the tuition, meals, and drop-off/pick-up times are all very competitive.

My son has learned so much as he's transitioned through the various classrooms and is leaving with so much more knowledge, kindness, and skills to navigate life, than I could have imagined. Ms. Melani, Ms. Daisy, Ms. Kaushi and all of the Wee Care staff - you all have made such a lasting impact on our family! And Ms. Haydee of the Owls Class... she is truly a gem with a heart of gold. She is always so kind when she speaks, always willing to follow along with my kids' morning routine of saying goodbye at the window, and the one my son can't wait to share updates with on Monday after his weekend adventures. She is an amazing preschool teacher and I could not have asked for someone better to help set my son up for success as he starts his new adventure as a kindergartener. She is also learning important "big girl" skills, such as waiting her turn, washing her hands, and completing age-appropriate tasks independently, which has helped build her confidence. I trust the staff completely and appreciate them more than I can say. I love the way they care for our baby girl--hugging her when she wants or needs comfort, playing on the floor with the children, and staying fully engaged. Our search led us to Chandlers and we REALLY wanted a spot. Our first time visiting, we were in love with the big play, outdoor space, and food. Ms Lina worked wonders to make room for our second baby when he was ready for daycare too. Being away from my kiddos was brutal, but I knew they were getting great care, great friendships, and better cooking than we have at home. We loved that it was mixed age and SO much outdoor time. Ms Lina has been a lifeline for us through the years! She helps the kids grow, but also helps us grow as parents. Our youngest was struggling with frustration for a while and she sat us down and talked with us about possible solutions. We did what she suggested and things improved for him tons. This review will be long, so for a quick summary, a racial gesture made toward my daughter was not handled properly by the school director, so we requested a two week notice to leave the school instead of the 30 days in our contract, and school director Carolina made us leave right away. In past incidents of our child coming home with wounds, we were gaslit and lied to about what happened. But regarding the straw that broke the camel's back, my 3 year old daughter came home one day and said one girl was being mean to her. She had previously said that girl was mean, and bit her arm before. We tried to brush it off as regular toddler interaction, and since she said the teacher put that girl on time out, we let it go. However, when we asked how the girl was being mean this time, my daughter pulled the outer corner of her eyes and made a slanty eye gesture. Horrified, we asked her to re-enact it so we could record it and report it to Carolina. Over text, she said she was "dumbfounded" and found it "outrageous and unacceptable." She requested an immediate in-person meeting with me. When I went to school to meet with her, she had brought all her teachers in to meet with me, and all of them denied seeing this happen. Then she even told me that the child's gesture was not racist, and had no idea that it was offensive. Carolina said she didn't even know what that gesture was, and had to Google it. Ignorance doesn't mean that behavior is acceptable. I had to explain the Asian American experience to her, but she diminished our racial experience by brushing off my statement and saying "...just like how Latinos and African Americans experience racism, it's all unacceptable." As a person of color, of course I'm aware of the different types of racism people experience, but I'm specifically talking about a racial situation at your school, so why are you making such a generalized statement...? Although I believe that child didn't realize that what she did was offensive, it was the school's responsibility to communicate with their parents to say that gesture is not acceptable in school. That would have given us confidence to keep our daughter at Chandlers' until right up to Kindergarten because we knew the caretakers were taking care of her and protecting her. Unfortunately, instead of making clear communication on this boundary, she decided to tell us to unenroll from her school immediately because it seemed like we "have been dissatisfied with this school for a while already" and that "the stress that this was causing [Carolina] is enormous." Note: enrollment papers require a 30 day notice to unenroll, but they do not honor the 30 days. We asked to shorten to two weeks, but they let us go immediately. Other previous experiences: Half a year ago, my daughter was really anxious and refused to go to Chandlers (she's usually very excited to go). We asked Carolina why, and she said because my daughter was put on a timeout the day before for climbing a fence. Then later, during my meeting about the racist gesture, I mentioned that my daughter was put on timeout before, and Carolina acted surprised and said "no she's never been put on a timeout before". It just seems like she will say whatever suits her argument in the moment, and pretend previous conversations never happened. So should we believe that A) our daughter was never put on timeout but was anxious instead because something suspicious happened at school, or B) there was a timeout but was lied to afterward? My daughter came home with a wound under her mouth one day, and the next day we asked Carolina, and she said she forgot to tell us that some other kids ran her over with a bike. We let it go at the time, but looking back, we definitely should not have. My daughter still has a scar under her mouth to this day. No incident reports ever made, no situations are ever documented. My daughter came home with wounds on her hands one day. She explained that a boy pulled her and she tripped and fell, but the teachers saw and put him on a timeout. We accept that these situations happen, and the teachers put the boy on timeout and didn't pursue this incident. However, I casually mentioned it to Carolina, and she said my daughter got those wounds because she was bear crawling around outside with her friend, and those are blister wounds. Unbelievable, my daughter bear crawls outside all the time and never gets wounds. As an early childhood provider, we had expected the school director to be more forthcoming (especially when wounds and racism are experienced) and emotionally mature. The fact that she forced us to immediately unenroll because the situation was causing too much stress for HER is mindblowing.

But both Ms. Beth and Principal Ms. Marie gently reassured me: "Don't worry, she will catch up soon." And they were absolutely right. At first, she was too shy to speak at school due to the language barrier. But now, she has made so many friends and proudly brings home her artwork to share with us. What surprised me most is how well she's taken care of herself--and even our whole family! She now chats with our neighbors in English like it's no big deal. It's hard to believe this is the same little girl who used to cling to me quietly at drop-off. Her physical strength and coordination have also improved dramatically. Before preschool, she would get tired just from walking and always wanted me to carry her. Now, she runs around joyfully and hikes without a single complaint--her energy is amazing! None of this would have been possible without the love, care, and gentle guidance of the amazing teachers at Arcadia Episcopal Preschool. I/we have made no greater choice than having enrolled our child here. Each and every staff member is truly an extension of our family. The rapport one builds is a lifetime from the parent-staff, staff-child and child-child is incredible. From our parental experience there is no handbook thorough enough to mentor us. But from Ms. Marie (director), Ms. Kim (assistant director), Ms. Anjali (Turtle class), Ms. Beth (seahorse class), Ms. Vicky (bear class), Ms. Frannie (dolphin class), Ms. Kelly, Ms. Debbie (retired), Ms. Stacy (retired) and Ms. Ivette (food preparer) they bestowed upon us throughout the years their invaluable insight and knowledge. Truthfully as 1st time parents they not only guide our child, but instill in us lessons that aide our adventures of parenting. We genuinely adore them and thank God for having blessed us with their unwaivering love and devotion. If I may elaborate on why AEP is so glorious is through the eyes of a toddler whom confides in us how loved and thrilled he is with his teachers and staff. It feeds our soul on how these Angels so selflessly yearns to mold these energetic bundles of joy. My Son would tell us of the heart felt hugs, the giggles, the conversations he has that makes him smile. As he express how he loves them and never wants to leave this school. Curricular wise is age based and is undoubtedly logically implemented. From encouragement and guidance the teachers fortify their needs through play and training. We often are so excited to see what he has acquired. I have watched my son develop in so many aspects that has layed a foundation I feel which will only propel him for the future. And I cannot express the shear joy we have had seeing him progress from an infant to toddler. From day one AEP has instilled confidence in our little one and us as well. I would enroll myself if I could ;p. As mentioned my son's love of this exemplary school is so great he decided to stay another year. You will experience unbridled joy as we have when your little ones sees their teachers off campus and schoolmates. It has been unequivocally the best decision we have made. I humbly and deeply thank ever Angel of AEP as they have touched our hearts, souls and minds. We are proud to be apart of AEP now and forever.
