Would rate 0 star for their service to our roof few year ago. We spent more than 8 grand for renew our roof but after all it was still leaking water after snow storm ....over and over year long . We call the owner to complain and the answer we got is "your roof was difficult design , couldn't fix it " , we didn't want the money back, just want he fix it right because the area leaking was my kids room. The sales guy was nice and they tried to work with us to resolve issues. They did not notice that we had drip vents on our roof and they did not install them. We asked for them to fix it and they did but it looked really bad. As you can see from the front of the house it is noticeably uneven. If you look closer it actually gets worse and looks quite odd. Then take a look at the handiwork around the rain diverters. I was told that this was fine. Whenever I look out my guest window I am reminded why I would never recommend this company. They had to come back several times to try to fix all the problems and eventually they finished at night when I couldn't even see. I should not have given the last payment, but honestly I was sick of them. One other more minor issue was they were the messiest roofers I have ever worked with. There were nails, staples and debris all over the driveway and yard. Some of the stuff they threw off the roof damaged shrubbery in the front of the house. I didn't make much of a stink about that but what I'm most upset about is how ugly my roof looks like. I did send a note some weeks after the job explaining how dissatisfied I was. No response. Nick and his team are great! I got quotes and met with several BBB accredited roofing companies, and chose Tip Top--the signs all over the neighborhood told me they must do something right! They were in and out, did a GREAT looking job, and they had the best prices around. I am extremely appreciative that they made the whole process so easy, and it was done QUICKLY. While I did check the BBB website, I was personally disappointed to not see many Yelp reviews for roofing companies (and other home improvement type work) and I definitely thought it important I share my experience. Great experience working with them from the start. Dominic came out for our first meeting with samples and helped with suggestions on options. Didn't try to up sell us, honest about what we didn't need. When we asked about some extra work he was quick to get back with very reasonable prices. The workers did a great job on the roof. The only recommendation would be to walk the lawn after the work is completed, found nails to be picked up in the back. BUYER BEWARE!!! I've never written one of these but to be completely honest, my experience with Tip Top Roofing was so terrible, it's prompted me to write a review in hope that no one else is taken advantage of the way I feel I was. We shopped around for roofers and Nick was the last one we met with. The first thing he said was to give him the lowest price of the other roofers and he'd beat it, which he did, by $100. I walked into my house and told my wife I felt like I had met with a used car salesman, but admittedly, it was our choice to contract his services, so shame on me. We signed the contract for the agreed price and I paid 50% up front as agreed. My wife stayed home the day the roofers came to our house. On several occasions she brought out drinks and asked for updates. Every time, they advised that everything was going fine. So not to sound completely negative, my wife did say that the laborers were very polite and professional. I assumed I only had to pay the remaining balance, however in speaking with Nick, he advised that the price we agreed upon had risen by over $500!! $500 in extras that were NEVER run by either me or my wife. Every time my wife asked the laborers, no one made mention of over $500 in extras. We were simply on the hook for this added cost. No foreman was at our job as promised. We were no where near completely satisfied as guaranteed. When we discussed this with Nick, his defense was that his laborers "don't really speak English" as if that's justification. It's also a complete lie because when I got home the laborers were finishing up and they certainly understood when I offered them drinks and hung out with them in my driveway for the 10 minutes they enjoyed those drinks. We have renovated our house from top to bottom and have worked with many local contractors and I can say with complete confidence that I've never had as awful an experience as this. Please take this in to consideration if you are shopping around for roofers. Tip Top Roofing will beat anyone's price, but will nickel and dime its way back to the top of the price points. read more

I was patronizing a business in the same building at Tip Top roofing when an employee, Debbie, came out of her office waving her thumb at me asking me to move my car. The parking lot was empty and the spot where I parked had no sign or marking designating as reserved. I asked why she wanted me to move. She became very hostile saying " Nick is coming, that's his spot". I looked again the parking lot empty. I declined to move as there was no reason too. Debbie proceeded to swear at me and after I walked away she charged down the hall at me asking me if I wanted to fight. She got right in my face. Of course I prepared to defend myself. The lady from the business I was visiting intervened and was verbally attacked by Debbie. Debbie then proceeded to slam her office door and shouted to me that I" need to take diet pills". I spoke with the owner of the building ,Jack, who said "something needs to be done about that woman". He then proceeded to give me tip top roofing owners number. So I called Nick the owner on the phone and he blew me off and told me to park where I want and he refused to answer any of my phone calls or any of my texts. The woman clearly has issues and the two other businesses who witnessed it told me they've had problems with her for a while now . read more

I had my roof done about 2 years ago and remain very happy with it. It is for a 3 family residence so speed and cleanup were important to me, and I was very pleased with that. My roof ended up needing all new plywood replaced as the house is close to 100 years old, and Tip Top still completed the work very quick, and at a great price (much better than other estimates I had gotten from other reputable companies). Nick had warned me from the start that I may need to replace wood, so I was happy that this wasn't something that came as a surprise. Pictures were sent to my phone to show the issues so I had comfort knowing that I wasn't simply being taken advantage of. The crew was amazing, and did my whole complex roof in a day, including repairs. It looks fantastic and is guaranteed.
