I was very satisfied with Manny Gutter Services. I think my parents, aunts and uncles, extended family and whole family clan would yell at me if they found out that I didn't get estimates from three different sources before going with Manny. Sometimes you just trust your judgment and go with it. I mean, the saying is that the early bird catches the worm right? The other two places I contacted either don't pick up or did not return my call in a timely manner. Manny was prompt in returning my call so I am going with him. Manny was prompt in returning calls. I think the best route is to call him directly rather than trying to book an appointment online. I had to call to remind him of my appointment when he was late. Nonetheless, he picked up his phone and was apologetic and showed up after his project was completed a town over. After surveying my home and listening to me needs, he told me everything I needed to know. He told me what he will have his crew do to fix my roof problem as well as gutter needs. And as promised, he provided me with a quote via email along with the contract should I move forward with his company. He contacted me the day before the project to let me know that he had to move the date of the project forward one day. I mean, it was understandable and actually worked out better for me. Though if you were dependent on a project to stay on course, this could be an inconvenience as you would have had to rearrange around their schedule. Lucky for me, I was pretty flexible so this didn't bother me at all. He called and texted to let me that he couldn't come. On the day of the project, his crew showed up on time and as expected. Once his men was set up, he introduced me to the foreman, his brother, and left them to work. His men worked diligently and cleaned as they worked thus ensuring my yard stayed clean the whole time. I had my roof patched on one side and three rows of shingles replaced. I also had my gutters cleaned, caulked, and nailed back into place and also a piece of the molding replaced. To me, the price was very reasonable. I was allowed to pay via personal check. It was a small one day project and did not require a building permit. The project was completed sooner than the estimated time frame so that was also a plus. I got to do a final walk to check the craftsmanship before I paid. If Manny tells you he can fix something, you better believe him! We connected through Yelp when I was collecting quotes to repair a cluster of small holes in our gutter. Every business that stopped by said the entire section of gutter had to be replaced. Except Manny. He was confident that soldering metal plates onto the gutter to cover the holes would be sufficient. Given the stark price difference between this option and literally replacing the gutter, we decided to give Manny a shot. The following week Manny and his team came out to do their thing. In addition to repairing the gutter, they also replaced a couple ground level downspouts that were crushed. They made quick work of the job and finished in a few hours. The real test came when it rained next and the first floor unit happily reported that water no longer pelted her window that was directly below the holey section of gutter. One thing I learned when Manny originally came to inspect our gutter was that he and his team are jacks of all trades. That reminded me of the issue the other first floor unit was having with water seeping in around her picture window when it rained. When I told her Manny does more than gutters, she was eager to get his opinion. After repairing the gutter, he inspected the window and she showed him pictures and videos to visualize the issue. Manny's exact words were, "I can fix it." Even though the job required removing the siding around the window and properly waterproofing and securing the window, Manny came back with a quote that was surprisingly reasonable. In fact, it was almost half the cost of the first "fix" that didn't fix anything. We decided to give Manny another shot, this time without requesting quotes from anyone else. Two weeks later Manny and his team returned to work their magic. Once again, we had to wait for it to rain to test their work, and once again, it was a total success! While these were small jobs, I'm appreciative that Manny was as responsive and proactive as if they were huge ones. He is enthusiastic about the work he does and finding the best solution to a problem. Home issues that are exacerbated by rain tend to be the most annoying and potentially damaging. We hired Manny's company to replace 21' garage gutter damaged by falling tree. He quoted a reasonable price. The crew came when they said they would. They were clearly well trained: 3 workers on ladders with levels aligned the gutter slope simultaneously. They spray painted the white gutter with paint we supplied, and it looks like it came from the factory with an exact match to our house. Manny and his guy were GREAT! The downspout on our row house disconnected in 2 places, causing water to run down along the building and windows. He came out to inspect and was kind enough to create a temporary fix (that was applied to the full repair costs) until they could get the materials and do the work about a week later. Thank goodness because there were a couple heavy downfalls of rain with no issues. Manny is very pleasant to interact with. They nicely clamped one side of the existing downspouts where it was sorely lacking and replaced the entire length of the other side, along all 4 floors, down to the ground level. The work is very clean, sturdy and nicely done. I like that they place the clamps behind the downspouts, that way when/if they ever need to get replaced, there are less holes to deal with! I think the pictures say it all. If you have a tough time finding someone who will do any gutter work (because Contractors are so backed up) in Boston Proper, reach out to Manny! The side of the roof we wanted a new gutter wasn't on a flat wall. The middle of it comes out as part of the structure, so the gutter has to bend a bit.
