I complained to the desk and they changed the sheets promptly, but this made us question the cleanliness of the room overall. There is no way the bed could have been made without noticing this. For some reason, his card declined, so he called the property and Laura confirmed our reservation and said we could just pay upon arrival. A few minutes later, someone ran our card again and it went through. 4 minutes after that, Laura called and told my husband that he's also on the "do not rent to list" My husband has also never been to North Dakota. The fact that they charged us only to inform us a few minutes later they were refusing to rent us a room, smells like fraud to me. After we got to town, my husband went inside the hotel to ask for his money back and the front desk clerk called the police on him! Not sure what shenanigans this place is up to, but, probably best to watch for fraudulent charges from here.

Not Bowman Lodge. It's clean and has signs all over mentioning sanitizing for covid. The service is very friendly, and the room was spacious and nice. The lodge is pretty and there's a free continental breakfast. If you're on your way to Medora/Theodore Roosevelt National Park and not going to make it all the way, this is a great spot to rest for the night.

Now believe me, I look forward to the next time I have the opportunity to ring the bell at the Guest House front desk and sign on the dotted line. The issue is that I have stayed in a LOT of hotels, and the Guest House is not the Ritz-Carlton, nor anything like it. So, three stars = A-OK. So if you need to stay overnight in Carter County, call the Guest House right away. You won't find better for miles.

Right in the center of a teeny tiny town, walking distance to cafe, bar, post office (were talking less than one block) There is a school with a great playground in front, and an rv park that has 3or4 hookups and a playground just around the corner.
