Upon entering the restaurant I was immediately made feel very welcome. The restaurant was almost fully seated. I was worried that I would be a able to get a table. My worries subsided and was seated to an amazing table on its own near the kitchen. Honestly I loved my table and the atmosphere was beyond amazing. I ordered my drink and was given plenty of time to look over the menu. My waitress was very professional and so friendly. She explained everything to me due to my very basic German. I placed my order. To my surprise my waitress came out with some special welcoming dishes from the chef. Complimented with some lovely bread in a special bag. The dishes were absolutely amazing and so delicious! I knew that I had found the most amazing restaurant within the first 15 minutes of entering Der Unterwirt. The soup I ordered tasted amazing and was simply delicious. The presentation was off the charts. My next order was a spring roll that centered around utilizing carrots. Honestly no words could describe this decadent appetizer! It was in many ways a touch of European and Asian Fusion combined. I loved every second of this dish. My main course was the Wiener schnitzel. I had obviously had Wiener schnitzel before in quite a few restaurants in Austria. This was above par and French fries to compliment my order were amazing! Perfect portion and presentation was above par. I ended up ordering a Wonderful Austrian Dessert. Similar to a pan cake dish. The dessert tasted amazing! Absolutely Delicious is putting it mildly! I finished my meal with a cappuccino and Baileys. Everyone I encountered at this establishment were all so professional and friendly! Note the building dates back to 1490! So much history! They had a Sylvester menu or you could order off a reduced version of their regular menu with some extra specials. We ordered off the a la carte menu. Food: - Fish (char) with risotto was fantastic - Beef roll with arugula and truffles served with potatoes and an amazing sauce, very good, meat was just a little overcooked - My sister and brother in law are vegetarian, they ordered a ravioli dish and sweet and sour veggies with rice and they were both very happy - My dad had pan seared pork chops one night and he said it was the best cooked meat he had all vacation, juicy and flavorful. She spoke English very well, answered all our questions, gave suggestions, and moreover accommodated any request we could possibly have. The waitress went and spoke to the kitchen and they were able to make it especially for him, and also make the side he wanted (which again was not on the menu).
