Brian, Robert, and Kirk care about their customers as much as their passion for their hobbies. They don't go for "the big sale". They take care to answer all your questions honestly. It's obvious when you speak with them, that they want you to be satisfied with your purchase and happy with your hobby. They want to earn your repeat business. They have mine. Started going 20+ years ago when Phil was still the owner, and Brian a "newbie". Now, I got into a new hobby, and Brian made sure I got the right start, by giving me honest opinions and helping me make an intelligent start, without a large investment. I had so much fun, I brought my son in, as well as a few co-workers who are all excited about their new hobbies. Brian and his staff helped me with replacement parts, and helpful suggestions, as I learned the ins and outs of the hobby. They even examined my equipment when I was having difficulty troubleshooting. Now I'm ready to go to the next level, and a larger investment in my newfound hobby. Brian was right there with invaluable information and offering to help with any questions I may have. I could have purchased through some online store, but I will always go to Phil's first, before purchasing elsewhere. Far too many businesses don't understand the value of good customer service and building relationships. The folks at Phil's Hobby Shop sure do - without a doubt. The owner was very kind and welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. He had a nice selection of wax and Topps apparel, but his selection of PSA graded cards was off the chart! I had never seen so many for sale in one store! I settled on a PSA 10 Junior Caminero auto RC and was extremely happy with the price. I made a point to call the shop owner when we returned to North Carolina and tell him just how special his shop is, and he was equally as kind and appreciative as he was the day we were there. They responded via email incredibly quickly, were able to receive photos for more details and gave me a quote that they stuck to. A team of two came to our place that same week, re-roped the flagpole efficiently and provided enough clips (appropriately spaced) for us to get three flags waving in the breeze! Since it went faster than I expected, the price for the amount of time needed to do the work seemed a bit high, but I have not dealt with anything flagpole related before to have any other costs to compare it to. Regardless, this team knows their stuff and provided excellent, efficient service!

Found what I was looking for, grabbed it, and headed to the checkout line. No one in line. Then, when i am checking out, the cashier was not pleasant at all, made no attempt to ask if i found everything i was looking for or to even say hello. I swiped my card and left. I bought the prettiest one as a gift for my brother and he hated it and returned it (what a square! lol), I always wished I had just kept it for myself! Well, now I get to gift this fabulous wearable art to my husband who has a more refined sense of whimsy! The lady behind the counter was a little rough around the edges, but the store was really cute.
