The weather was a bit choppy and instead of having his dad run lines captain Jon took control and ran lines and let his dad guide the boat. Only at his dads asking did he have him run the lines and his dad was just as great. We hit it good and had our limit by 7:15 am. My brother's Southern Belle wife from Atlanta had never landed a fish in her life and in just 3.5 hours we landed 40 smallmouth bass and my brother's wife even landed a 3.5 lb. bass on her own. When my brother brought his son to fish once again we landed 40 fish in just 4 hours. Absolutely amazing. This was again near the end of August and we were dropshotting! My best outing with Captain Sid is 85 fish in 6 hours in a remote windswept bay on May 9, 2022. We landed three 21 inch plus In-Fisherman Angler Award bass, a 40 inch northern pike and a 38 inch northern pike. The action was a fish on almost every cast!!! This exhilirating trip tied with my best outing of 101 smallmouth bass on a Memorial Day weekend around 2000 with Guide Paul Prorok who finished 2nd in the Sturgeon Bay Bass Open in the late 90's (won $25,000) in waders! My biggest fish appeared on the front cover of Midwest Outdoors and also in In-Fisherman magazine. Captain Sid's boat is immaculate, and he has all the latest electronics including livescope!!! Captain Sid is truly a premiere world class guide of upper Door County for bass, and he boast lots of happy out-of-state repeat customers!! Captain Sid has a great bedside manner and will coach you on your technique. He also knows how to put you on the fish bite and also is always ready to net your trophy bass. On a scale from 1 to 10, Captain Sid is a 100!!! I typically book Captain Sid for 8 awesome bass trips a season, but I just booked him with two more eye watering events in late April due to the extremely hot prespawn smallmouth bass bite in a Door County remote bay. A fisherman just landed four 6 lb.+ bass on Easter Sunday afternoon starting at 3 p.m. with his wife at the remote site!!!!

We enjoyed mimosas, coffee, grapes and chocolate bread - it's bring your own. There is a head (bathroom) onboard. We sailed past the ship dry docks and buildings - treat to see the freighters up close! Captain Tom zig zagged through the bay all the way out to the lighthouse. Susan provided a nice narration of what we were passing. It was warm when we went so I was a tad hot - could be cold on other sails. They also offer a sunset cruise. You have run of the ship if you'd like. This is a great relaxing way to spend the morning or evening. They take a max of six guests - it was just us so extra sweet! I believe kids are welcome but double check.

We had a great time on a 24 ft pontoon boat! The pickup was easy, off to the left of the Maritime…read moreMuseum. You have to walk across the grass to get to the little docking station where they have 6 boats. In the water "parking lot" there was a dead duck floating , the boat had pretzels strewn about and smashed, and the seats had clearly not been cleaned or wiped down. Between customers there is no sanitation or cleaning happening. There was also a loose screw at the front of the boat that I put back in twice to no avail. The anchor was too short of a line to actually hit the bottom of the bay anywhere we went. It was still a good place to grab a boat. Gas for 3.5 hours cost us about $15 on top of the reservation, which was really reasonable! Overall, a 4-hour rental for less than $250 is a good deal and we were happy to see Sturgeon Bay that way.

Captain Lonney and the team at Trophy Ice Fish gave us an Awesome ice fishing experience! Couldn't…read moreask for nicer people we felt welcomed from the start booking the trip with Barbara to arriving and chatting with Capt. Lonney and the guide crew getting us setup on whitefish. The guides stayed in our shanty til we felt comfortable with the fishing technique and understanding the sonar fish finder machine that shows fish activity. Off and on throughout the day the guides would check in and see if we needed anything and would even throw a hook in to try and catch a fish for us. The fish shanties were spacious and warm. They were spray foam insulated so for most of the day, even during the winter storm blowing through, we kept our heater on low or off because of how well they held heat. Also there were six porta-potty's close to the shanties, very convenient. They provide lunch for $15 where they'll cook a couple of the fish you've caught along with a side of fries. Was really looking forward to this because how cool is it to pull a fish out of the water then have it filleted and fried minutes later but unfortunately we had a winter storm coming through and had to forgo the shore lunch that day. It's ok money was refunded and just gives me an excuse to book a second trip! All in all it was a great day even with the winter storm messing us up we made a lot of great memories and caught a good number of whitefish! Thanks Captain Lonney and crew!

We pre-booked the Clear Bottom Kayak Shipwreck Tour with Lakeshore Adventures in Baileys Harbor, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our group was wonderfully small -- just my husband and me, another couple and our guide. We chose individual kayaks, which I personally prefer, and all the equipment and life vests were provided. Our guide was awesome! Unfortunately, I didn't write down her name, but she was friendly, knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history about the shipwrecks beneath Lake Michigan. There's something really cool about paddling out onto Lake Michigan in a clear-bottom kayak and looking for shipwrecks beneath you. You get some exercise, enjoy the beautiful outdoors and learn a little Door County history along the way. Lakeshore Adventures offers several different kayak tours, but we're really glad we chose the shipwreck tour. I definitely recommend booking ahead, bringing some water and getting out there for a little Door County adventure!

You know, the kind that if one kid gets off too early can spank the other kid good when they land. My oldest just liked walking across them like a balance beam. Lots of swings, and access to the lake too. Plenty of parking in the lot, even when the farmers' market is going on. So it's a good place to let the wee ones loose for a bit without worrying about ticks and stuff.

The beach was very crowded with 100+ people but we were told it was due to a "quiet day" at the beach. The operating hours on the website were not updated - and no disclaimer posted - and no one answered the phones when we called to confirm times. We drove all the way over to Sister Bay and could have stayed to rent one at Nicolet Beach in Peninsula State park, or pursued another activity had we known this company didn't want our business, Beware of planning to rent from this company as they operate on their own time with disregard to customer, rather than abide by their own posted operating hours. Very disappointed in this behavior that has resulted in lost customers.
