During our recent trip to Door County, WI we headed over to the Egg Harbor Fun Park to zip with Gravity Trails. I have to be honest with you when we first arrived I was a little bummed. I only saw two poles and thought we were just zipping from one to the other. You know the saying "Never judge a book by it's cover" that holds true for zip lines too. The four of us put on our gear and awaited instructions. See the slats going up to the platform everyone is standing on? We got there by climbing up a rock wall! It wasn't bad at all and I have to say it was a really cool way to start the course. I offered to go first out of our group of 4. There were 4 zip lines and they were each a little different. I did try jumping and off course going across with out holding on. This was not my first time so I started out by letting go. Actually I also did that on my first time too. I have been zip lining with others who were nervous though and I just want to reassure you that our guides were amazing! They explained everything to us and reassured us. One of us didn't make it all the way over and zipped back to the center. They told us that there's usually one in every group. Hey, it makes for a great story and great pics! As soon as it happened Ben readjusted and headed out on his rescue mission. The upper arm strength was incredible. I mean I would have to tell you "Hang on and I'll go get someone." Our kids went through a couple of buckets of sand and had a blast. They make sure that everyone finds at least a few of the extra special gems too. My 9 year old was thrilled to discover a couple of arrowheads in his bucket! They have zip lining, go carts, batting cages, arcade games as well so there's something for everyone to enjoy. We are glad we made the stop!

Been driving through Forestville for decades, always saw the sign, but never went here. Turn west…read morein town and be ready for the sign to turn to the park. The sign is not very visible and comes up sneaky. The park has ample parking and open area at the far end. There is a small playground and a building I assume held restrooms. The dam creates a small lake with its ADA compliant fishing pier. You can walk across the small dam and explore the creek downstream of the dam. The Ahnapee Trail runs through this park. We saw a family loading up their bikes after a day on the trail. A nice enough park that is worth the detour off of highway 42.

One of the major draws of this tour was the proximity to the neighboring Cave Point County Park. Emily led us right up to the famous limestone sea caves. Being in a kayak allowed us to feel the gentle rhythm of the lake as it echoed through the rock formations--an immersive experience that felt both peaceful and powerful. We were up in Door County last week and ended up with a "bonus day" which was supposed to be rainy…read morebut then was not, so we decided to check out a few parks we hadn't visited before. We put the address into Google and it took us to a spot on WI 57 with nothing that looked like a park entrance. We pulled into a wayside that just had a sign along the road indicating "no toilets" so we could look at our paper map again, and then we saw a sign in the wayside parking lot indicating this WAS the park. Hmmmm...where are the trails? We found what looked like a trail off to the right side (when facing away from the road). of the little parking area and followed that for awhile. The woods were pretty, but the trail wasn't really marked. There were lots of mosquitoes so bring bug spray if you come here! We finally got to a more groomed trail and think we may have actually crossed over into a neighboring park that is maintained by a private company. Anyway, there are a ton of parks in Door County; this wasn't bad if you're looking for complete solitude as we literally saw no other humans and did see a deer. That said, I'm not sure this is high on my list of parks to return to.

Easily one of the best attractions in the area and absolutely phenomenal for any level of bird…read morelovers. Make sure to email them in advance to sign up for a two hour private bird tour. Our tour guide was the man and legend, Rob, who genuinely has a passion for bird rearing, bird knowledge, and sharing that love with others. We were greeted by Rob with a Great Horned Owl named Wisdom, later were introduced to Ginger the Kestrel, Amber the Turkey Vulture, and all birds in between. The birds get super excited everytime Rob would walk by or whenever they hear his voice and it's truly astonishing to see the companionship and level of trust between bird and man. Facility is incredibly clean, birds have multiple levels of obstacles and things to sit on, and all the birds have a say on whether or not they want to come out and be introduced to others. They invest a lot of time and energy into not only the birds but into the community themselves. 100% make sure to add this to the list and spread the word!

We played The Bull in Sheboygan Falls and The Irish at Whistling Straights (two of the top 100 courses in the U. S.) for under $150! Don't waste your money. Peninsula Park Golf Course has better, more dramatic views and The Orchards is in just as good of shape for 1/3 the price.
