I really like this gym when I spend my breaks from school in McAllen. It's spacious and clean. The schedule is pretty accommodating, too. The gear they sell is very, very reasonably priced, which is nice. I'm giving it 4 starts and not 5 because I would like to see the instructors correcting form and assisting people when adequate. I've seen some new people and I'm not sure if they teach them the basic punches before starting (they didn't go over them with me). Aside from this, it's a great workout. The gym equipment is available for use. The instructors are nice and cool, approachable and friendly. read more

Trees aren't super close together, so it doesn't quite have a cooling effect or allow much space to hang out underneath. There's a basketball hoop with pretty janky concrete but at least it's there. The volleyball area has sand, and is pretty nice. There's a children's play area and water play area. Definitely meant more for families with children but you can always find space to set up for a picnic here. I had a nice time here but it'a nothing special as far as parks go. I totally got my butt kicked the first 15 mins of just the warmup and it only got better with the boxing workouts. CAUTION: Definitely pace yourself!!! I did did a boxing class with Charlie and his energy, music, and workouts will definitely help to reach my fitness goals :) read more
