Recently had Tito's Iron Works fabricate and install wrought iron hand-railings for my home. I would like to say the experience was pleasant and hassle -free. So if you plan to use them, don't wait too long. They are quite busy. This is their busy season. From the time the owner, Tito came and took measurement to final installation was about 2 weeks roughly. The finished product looked spot on. Workers came on time 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM start. Once started the 2 man team just kept working . I sure do appreciate punctuality. Duration of the job was about 6-7 hours. OK I am updating my review - Tito (owner) did return my calls and we had a very cordial meeting at my home. We agree upon a reasonable price (okay to bargain), and the work was done about two weeks after we met. Some observations: (a) Tito is a fine person - originally from the Bronx; (b) he knows metals! We asked him to get quality material and do quality work - he and his company did. I know everyone wants to save money, but often it is worth spending more...ask Tito this question: "If this was your house, and you were putting up an iron fence you would be proud of - which one would you install?" Tito will not oversell a flashy, ostentatious fence...but one that is sturdy. I got the sense he is very much a function over appearance guy; (c) Tito's workers are very nice - the two guys who worked with us were from Ecuador (town of Cuenca where Deborah and I have been a couple of times). So we spoke in Spanish about that country (a great one!), and their experience here as immigrants (my grandparents came from Italy as immigrants many years ago). Anyway, for you, the homeowner: the guys we had were nice, polite, humble - make them a cup of coffee (cafe con milk/leche with at least two spoons of sugar/sucre). They do appreciate a bit of kindness, and a smile. In other words, you can trust the guys to do a good job. They painted the rough spots on the newly installed gates (where welding had been done); and kindly moved the soil they had displaced to my pear tree nearby. That was much appreciated; (d) bottom line: if you can work out an acceptable price, Tito and company will deliver a fine fence, installed well - and you will have a great time with the guys - in our experience if you treat them with respect and kindness, they will respond in kind; (e) and lest I forget and get myself in trouble: the lady back in the office who took our initial phone calls - she is very nice too. read more
