The original project manager was fantastic and then he left the company (we wondered why?). The new project manager didn't know much about running a project or coordinating work. I don't believe he knew the correct end of a screwdriver to use. He changed the original contract that cost us a lot more in the end, increased prices on all the products we purchased and was terrible on relating pertinent information. There were delays in getting the project completed, the hired help were great, but the management was awful. Not only deceitful, but no integrity or honesty. We've dealt with various contractors over the years, but in my opinion, Kingswood Home Services of Estes Park was the absolutely worse. In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

If you want clear communication for your remodel, hire another builder. There were many issues. A…read morefour month remodel took nine months. The builder has ghosted all communication after ten months. Neither the owner, designer, nor engineer were consulted during the remodel for questions related to approved plans. Eg. when asked about progress on a planned support post removal, answers changed multiple times with variable accuracy. The post remains. A 19' foot wall, previously flat, was finished with a 2" depth discrepancy halfway along the length of the wall. Not a preferred design feature. The builder removed existing light fixtures now covered with cement siding, leaving an exterior walkway pitch black. Three of six previously functioning switches now do nothing. The clearly printed electrical panel was incorrectly and illegibly revised with a black marker. Other issues included leaving a key box open with house keys in it, incorrect door and sink installation, unfinished trim and caulking, leaving personal goods damaged, and telling the homeowner they should be more assertive. Some work is very nice; some work resulted in deconstruction.

Rich used his incredible creativity to design and build the roof to look like it came as a part of our original house. You cannot tell it is an add-on 17 years after our home was built. It perfectly blends in with the original home and yet it is brand new. We had some unique and challenging requests in what we wanted and Rich's energy and creativity was able to pull it off, just liked we hoped. It came out perfect. I don't know how Rich and his team could have done any better and he kept it all within his original quote, even though he did incur some unexpected expenses. We volunteered to cover some of those extra expenses, because they were not his fault, but he would not let us.
