Fireplace stone needs to be replaced. Countertop subcontractor dropped the stone on our floor so now part of our brand new hard wood floor needs to be replaced. Backsplash was installed crooked so we had to have it completely removed, purchase new tile that we have now paid for twice, and have it reinstalled. I could go on an on. When we signed our contract with him, he said any work that was done by him would be guaranteed to be done to satisfaction. How is it OK for him to abandon the job with so many issues on the work that was done? Regardless of him leaving the job early for whatever his reason may be, we feel completely robbed that we paid for a half-a$$ job on many of the items. Oh and in the process of our time working with Mitchell, he fired his kitchen contractor because she made several mistakes, fired his stone guy because he installed the wrong countertops in our house, fired his carpet guy because he let him do our backsplash and he installed it crooked. So who does he even have left to do jobs? Who knows, this guy is a con-artist. I have pictures and emails to prove it and will post them here if he even tries to argue that point.

We had to fire him and take the entire project into our own hands and he never showed us a single receipt for the work done and just took our money. We spent over 100k with the guy without seeing a single receipt in the end and we feel scammed. We will be filing a complaint with the BBB and seeing what we can do to get our money back that we deserve. Currently we sit with an unfinished kitchen, wrong electrical outlets, unfinished fireplaces with bad tiling, and a really bad taste in our mouth. Mitchell right cannot take his emotion out of any issues that arise and I am surprised he can even be called a contractor. Please please take my word for it, I write a lot of reviews, mostly positive, so for me to write this is very telling. Also keep in mind he says he "released" $4100 to me but we have over $10,000 of work incomplete so he actually stole money from us which we will be contacting the contractor's board about immediately.

I hired Bassil Babeder, Mountain Star Construction, to install a new kitchen in our home. We had…read moredesigned the layout and ordered the cabinets ourselves. During installation we realized one of the island cabinets was 3" too large for the space, the cabinets were custom, and a replacement would have taken 4-6 weeks minimum. Due to Bassil's quick thinking and problem solving he was able to extend the length of a pony wall the cabinet butted up against which allowed us to use the larger cabinet and keep the installation moving. When it was determined that a couple of cabinets/doors were damaged Bassil took the initiative to contact our cabinet rep and arranged for the damaged materials to be replaced. Bassil also agreed to take over a rather large baseboard installation project that a previously hired contractor was scheduled to do but wasn't reliable in showing up. In one week Bassil installed the new kitchen cabinets, including extending a pony wall and installed baseboards with bullnose corners in approximately 1300 square feet of our home. I would not hesitate to hire Mountain Star Construction in the future and intend to hire them for my next construction project.
