We met Josh at a wedding expo and were immediately drawn to TKO DJ's after speaking to him. What impressed us the most about TKO was their level of professionalism. So many of the other DJ's were insisting we sign up that same day and/or offered DJ services and photo-booth and photography, etc. We like that TKO was not pushy and also focused on doing one thing right...DJ'ing. We met with them at their office prior to our wedding and were again impressed at their level of professionalism. Andrew was the DJ at our wedding and reception and he was AMAZZZING. The processional song ended up running out because my flower girl took too long to walk down the aisle. Andrew was so quick to catch on and seamlessly extended the processional song so that no one would find out. We were requesting many international songs (Persian) to be played at our wedding...Andrew did an AMAZING job with mixing them in with the English songs and at the right times. Our dance floor was crowded ALL NIGHT!!! We were so happy that we decided to go with TKO and we felt incredibly happy with our DJ Andrew. There are many DJ services out there. If you are looking for a DJ who knows what they are doing and will be on time, professional, and fun then TKO is the DJ for you. All the other DJ companies appear to be jack of all trades but master of none. TKO is the master of DJ'ing! They run a professional business and will give you excellent quality service. Our DJ Drew was a natural at making our guests feel comfortable and teaching them how to dance the Cupid Shuffle, etc. He was professional and polite from beginning to end--this was July 12, 2025. His joyful attitude carried over to the wedding reception vibe we had going. I highly recommend TKO DJs. Also, what I remember about the night was that as the mother of the bride, I had enough time for conversations with guests before the dance music started, unlike some wedding receptions where it seems like I am shouting across a table and have a sore throat the next day. Just wanted to touch base after our big event. We were a bit disappointed with the DJ experience. We thought by booking almost a year in advance, and a venue such as The Fox Theatre we would have had a more experienced DJ for the wedding. They announced things as requested, but I don't know why we filled out the questionnaire. It was a small detail, but they referred to Natalie's dad the entire night as MR. Morris, rather than DR. Morris. Clearly they did not reference the form. Also, it was our understanding that the DJ would be wearing a suit or a tux. The young man with her had no jacket or tie. Concerning the soundcheck for our friend who was playing the guitar and singing for the father-daughter dance: They called her the day before and said to be there 4-4:30, so she arrived at 3:30 just in case they were ready early. She walked back with my husband, (Natalie's father), but she was just getting set up for the actual ceremony. She said they'd do it during the cocktail hour. Our friend stayed close by the entire time, to remain available. When the time came there had been no check and the DJ was attempting to set a mic up for vocals, and no mic for guitar (although that is what they said they would be doing when they called). At that point our friend declined the mic because the balance of vocal and guitar would have not been good. She ended up singing and playing with no mic whatsoever. We requested the DJ to interact on a moderate level. The level of enthusiasm by the DJ was underwhelming. Maybe I am being overly sensitive, but we had just expected more from your staff and business. We have friends who are planning weddings in the near future, and I would be hesitant to recommend you. read more

TKO DJs was the wrong choice for our wedding. We met with the DJs via telephone conference twice before our wedding. We filled out extensive information on what we wanted and did not want played at our wedding. We knew we would not meet with our actual DJ until the event but were fine with that, as we had provided extremely detailed information for her use. Out of 10 songs we wanted for special dances, the DJ played one correctly. The DJ played many songs from our "Do Not Play" list. The most upsetting part was the DJ playing the wrong song for my walk down the aisle. After the event, I advised the owner of this awful experience, and he said nothing and offered no apologies. Do not hire TKO if you have specific expectations for the songs at your wedding. read more

I attended a wedding reception over the weekend at Chase Park Plaza's Starlight Room. The DJ asked for requests so I went up and requested a song. He continued to play "dance party" music for at least another hour. (BTW, absolutely NO variety!) and I had to ask twice for the song I wanted. He did tell me upon my second request that he didn't have a song by Billy Joel...What??!! He played another version of the song eventually. I requested another song and he never played it. I wouldn't hire TKO if I were you... it's all about what the DJ wants to hear. read more

Used Tko for our wedding on October 21, 2017 and they did awesome. We met with them a few weeks prior to our wedding and they had great suggestions for songs for both our ceremony and or reception. They also were awesome enough to provide a microphone for our officiant during our ceremony. We decided to have a very involved dj and the music selections were amazing. We had people dancing all night. Our dj helped us a lot with the timing and the planning of the day. He checked to make sure he knew how to say all of our names prior to announcing us into the reception and made sure to keep everything on track with our timeline. I would def recommend Tko for a wedding or other occasion as they did such a good job. Our guests even told us how great our dj was. read more

So we originally hired TKO DJs for our wedding because the DJ was an old friend of my husband... but then he up and got another job in another city and that was that. That obviously doesn't affect the rating of TKO, but honestly, I was not hugely impressed by Lance, the DJ who replaced our original guy. He was very nice and kind enough to let my neurotic self give him a detailed list of what we wanted played--accompanied by a CD of songs we didn't think they'd have... and I know we checked the "NOT over-the-top DJ" box when selecting what type of DJ we were interested in, but a *little* personality wouldn't have killed the guy. So the wedding reception had good music, but I didn't think the sound quality was that great--this could have been an acoustics problem with our venue and not the blame of TKO, but Lance could've turned up the volume a bit. And been sort of energetic. Maybe smiled a little... Yeah, he was kind of a dud. Three stars. Maybe 3.5 because they had to contend with a semi-neurotic bride and *that* they did with finesse... read more

The words "Very Professional" and "Organized" are what you want with a DJ. It's a flaky and flighty market with so many freelance DJs out there with nice business cards, some impressive equipment, and a nice smile...but they are trying to be Deadmau5 or Skrillex, not a real DJ. We tried TKO on a recommendation, and it was a good one for sure. We got a professional DJ with a great attitude and a warm dance floor feel. He played our music, and made sure we were good with any odd requests by the guests or unplanned additions. He kept in touch and made us happy. These guys and gals are top notch and ready to work for you. They did a great job at my wedding, showed up on time, and perfected the mix of blending in and keeping it going. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and I will use them again I'm sure. read more

We were very excited to have TKO at our wedding reception! From the time I started wedding planning I knew music would be important and so I didn't want to wait too long before hiring a DJ. I went to a few wedding shows and at all 3 of them I had positive interactions with the guys from TKO! At the last wedding show I went to I put my name in for a drawing and to my surprise I actually won! The "prize" was $100 off DJ service! It was meant to be. My fiance and I scheduled a meeting with Chris from TKO and he walked us through the process and contract. We were delighted to work with him since he was super friendly. I asked about up-lighting and he said they would even be able to provide the lights as well. It was done deal. After we signed the contract Chris sent me a link so that we could go into their site and start creating our playlist. We were able to select songs to play and songs not to play. It was very easy. About a month before the wedding Katie called and reminded us to schedule a meeting with Chris to discuss logistics and planning. We made the meeting and discussed all the details. It's always nice to work with someone who can do the job efficiently. He was quick to answer questions and during our meeting he made sure we understood what to expect at our event. We talked about the start and stop time along with set-up and break-down. Once our meeting was over we received a copy of the report for the DJ to refer to. It was accurate and easy to read. On the night of our wedding Trevor (our DJ) arrived on time and had the place all set up. He had the lighting just as I had asked and he had his area all set up. Trevor was friendly and had just the right amount of energy! Trevor had people on the dance floor all night and really seemed to know which songs to play. He really was "feeling the crowd". I think it was a great night and he made sure to keep the energy flowing throughout the night. There were times when I needed to ask him to make an announcement and he did without complaint. Trevor really has a great personality and I think he rocked our wedding dance floor! I would absolutely work with TKO again. read more

We hired TKO for our recent reception. They were great at scheduling the entire evening. They were also very accommodating as far as the music goes by asking us questions like "Is Baby Got Back okay?" (of course!). We checked the box for an enthusiastic DJ. We got Longden (Langden?), who was terrific. He wasn't over-the-top, but he wasn't a stone wall either. They didn't have all the songs we had listed, but he was intuitive enough to pick songs that were available to him that he thought we would like as well. During the dancing, he took requests and played songs that kept people dancing. Before the bouquet toss, he told us that he didn't have the song we requested and asked if we wanted something else played. As this night was game 3 of the World Series, he kept tab of the Cardinals for the crowd and gave score updates throughout the evening. read more

Tko was fantastic!!! They had people up and dancing and I was in a sea of giggles and smiling guests most of the night. They didn't even mind having to be a little flexible with our timetable when we detoured a little on the way to the reception so we could stop and take pictures with the grooms dad in the hospital so as to make sure he was included in our wedding! Absolutely awful. Hire TKO DJs and you will be sorry. Not only was the music unpopular (as made evident my the throngs of people standing around on the dance floor, not dancing), but to make matters worse, they found the need to inject awkward 10 second pauses of silence randomly into the music. This invariably killed the mood every single time. No song was played even close to its full length, most spanning an average of 30-45 seconds. And to top it all off, the DJs in question decided it was necessary to mumble loudly and unintelligibly over the music as it played. All of these magnificently mood-killing incidences (and there were many) lead TKO to be repeatedly booed by an unhappy crowd, most of whom left the event barely halfway through due to the awkward and overall lame atmosphere created by TKO DJs. If you want your event to have energy and excitement, don't hire these guys. read more

If I could rate the DJ and the company separately, I'd give the DJ 4-5stars, and the company 1 star. We went with TKO on the recommendation of a family friend. Again, the DJ at our wedding reception was awesome. He did a top notch job. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy working with their office staff prior to and after our big day. One thing that EVERY SINGLE other service we paid for did that TKO couldn't seem to handle, was being flexible. They acted like making adjustments to the song list was putting them out, and it couldn't be done. Really??? You can't bring up a song list and make adjustments to it and then re-save that list and give it to your DJ??? At one point, the person working at their office said that the bride has made too many adjustments already, and that no more were allowed. (I think his name was Marmon or Maralyn or something like that) I made sure that we paid for eveything upfront, thinking that we could get better service that way. We tipped the DJ well after our reception as well. We paid extra to have the DJ set up early, since weather did not allow us to have the outside ceremony that was originally planned. We even paid the DJ extra during the night, so he would play for a little while longer. A couple of weeks after the event, I received an invoice for an outstanding balance. We were paid in full, and I am really glad that I had saved my receipts to prove it, since I would have been out another $100, according to them. When I called them on it, they 'checked my file' and saw that I had already paid that amount. I would have thought that a professionally ran company would have checked their files before sending out invoices for unpaid balances. Our DJ was great, and I would suggest using this company for corporate events or parties, but I would not suggest using them for your wedding. Their office staff was the only company/service provider that we worked with that didn't understand that the wedding and reception was about the bride, and not them. read more

Update.. 5 years later and they have been able to easily dispute and thus remove my review off of wedding wire. They apparently require that, FIVE YEARS LATER, I submit my receipt or contract and until I do that, my review has been taken down. This is crazy. Why would I save a receipt from 5 years ago? Changing my 2 star rating to a 1 star because a) that's shady as heck and b) I still have all 250 wedding guests faces embedded in my brain as they saw my look of confusion and then sadness when a vanilla boring frank sinatra song was played during my cake cutting and not the one that meant so much to us that I emailed and verified they would play. If you music means anything to you don't use this company for your wedding. If you are a z1077 listener and have zero expectations from your dj, go for it. Which leads me to this: if you are planning a wedding, don't trust wedding wire to give you the real skinny on companies services. ......... A month before our 2011 wedding, our DJ cancelled on us. As you can imagine, we were freaking the f out. TKO squeezed us in, which we were very grateful for. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with their services. My husband and I are music enthusiasts, for sure. And we aren't exactly playing the top 50 on any charts, we like a little more obscure music. So, we sat down for over an hr with them, picking out songs we specifically HAD to have played at the wedding. They didn't have any of these songs on the date of the wedding. Honestly, "we had a near perfect wedding day" - I always say "....except for the DJ." I am FULLY aware that everything can't go perfectly, but if I owned a service-oriented company, I sure as heck wouldn't want to be any brides exception to her day being perfect!!! Our cake cutting song was so important to both of us. We had been trying to decide which of two very special songs to dance to, and ended up wanting the one we didn't choose for our first dance, for the cake song. Instead, they played some generic song - he said he didn't have the other one. WTF? Are you serious? In this day and age, with technology what it is, a DJ should have a hot spot on his cell phone and be able to download ANY important song at the drop of a hat. That is a pretty big flub. The technology is there, you need to be using it. Missing something as important as that on a bride's wedding day is really awful customer service. Our DJ was a very nice guy and he brought the party, for sure. However, I am still a bit heart broken about the songs that didn't get played. Careless and inconsiderate. Wouldn't retain their services again. read more

I hate to admit it, but I hired TKO to DJ my wedding reception last spring. We were told ahead of time by their office manager that all the wedding DJs on staff had years of experience. When my wedding day arrived though, we were told by our DJ that it was his first wedding working by himself. It was obvious too. He didn't play any of the music that we discussed ahead of time with the office staff. He played some obscure 80's shit for most of the night when my fiancee and I had requested Top 40 and dance/hip hop. He mispronounced four out of the six names in our wedding party. We caught him sneaking drinks from the bar on our dime, and he disappeared during dinner for at least 20 minutes. The music was so loud that several members of our family asked him to turn it down. It would be turned down for a song or two, but then the volume would go right back up and stay that way until he was confronted again. I could go on, but my point is this; my wedding reception was ruined by an inexperienced DJ. I wouldn't recommend TKO to my worst enemy, and would warn against anyone getting married from making the same mistake we did by hiring TKO. read more
