Pedicures are around a corner and to be blunt I've seen gas station restrooms that are cleaner. I have been coming here for the past four years, and have usually always had a good experience. Not the case today. I came in today, for my usual, dip, on my natural nails. I prefer a specific person do them, but I didn't have an appointment, as it was a last minute decision. I walk in, and I'm told Sarah will be doing my nails. Not a problem, she's done them before, and I thought she did a pretty good job. To start, I ask for my shape to be SHARP square. She says yes, she can do that. Well... this is clearly not that. Problem #1. She does it quickly, (which I appreciate, if you can also do a good job) and then applies my topcoat. I very carefully pick up my phone, and check it. She says "be careful with your phone" and I am. I've been getting my nails done professionally for 8 years, I've mastered not ruining them while checking my phone. When it's time for her to come back and check that they're dry, I put my phone down, and examine my nails, making sure I haven't nicked them, or caused them to need any fixing. All clear. She comes and starts putting the finishing oil on them, and while rubbing it in, she swipes off some of the undry top coat. She looks at her own finger, (which it came off on) and then rudely says to me, "look.. that's why I tell you to be careful with the phone," then says something I'm unable to translate under her breath. Problem #2. She quickly fixes her mistake, and then charges me $50 for regular dip. Which was $35, and then made its way to $40, and then $45, and now coincidentally is $50. Problem #3. I have no problem paying $50 for dip, *when* I'm actually getting what I asked for. My nails don't look terrible, which I'm thankful for, but still not what I asked for, and unnecessary attitude while trying to blame me for something she obviously did. I really like this place, and have given them tons of business, but I think this is my last time coming here. read more

I came in for a dip powder fill in. After i sat down the nail tech started prying my nails off. i just assumed it was because one of them came off completely. when she cut them it cracked them into pieces. she took a nail tip and continued to rip them off. one of my fingernails that got cracked was completely ripped up and was bleeding really bad. it was barely hanging on by a piece of flesh. i had to ASK her to clean it before continuing. had it not been that bad i would've asked her to stop but leaving it exposed would've been a bigger issue as it would've gotten caught on everything and it would've left that flesh exposed. she told me that i "should've just asked for a fill in instead" WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. after getting a good look at my finger nails i noticed that another one had been split down the middle, it just wasn't bleeding. she then brought some gel colors over and i then informed her that i am allergic to gel and that it causes HUGE problems for me if i get it. the last thing that sent me over the edge was that she finished my nails by putting on a gel top coat. now my fingers will be itchy and in a few days they will be cracked and bleeding because of my reaction to the gel allergy. i will never be returning. read more

I went in a week and a half ago to get gel nails done. Kim convinced me to do dip powder instead, promising me that it would last longer, thats it is stronger, and that it is better for my nails. Since I've had my nails done, 3 of them started separating from the dip (and breaking my real nails underneath), one broke off half of my nail, and another has a chip. I called before coming in to explain what was going on and was told they would look at my nails. Once I was able to be seen I was immediately met with hostility. Kim tells me that my nails breaking must be my fault and that I must have bumped something. I calmly state "that would not explain why my nail is separating from the dip powder" and she loudly says "I don't know what you did to cause this" and "this lasts 6 weeks for other people and you wont spread lies to others about this". She goes on to tell me that she will fix the one nail that broke in half and that she will not fix anything for me again. I have been going here since I was a teenager, and for the past few months I have been going every 2-3 weeks. Why would I lie? If this matter would have been met with hospitality I would have been perfectly happy and would continue to come here to get my nails done. But instead I was yelled at in front of the entire store that I am lying, that it is not her fault, and that I'm making the business look bad by coming back in to get my nails fixed. read more

This nail salon has been a very disappointing experience twice now. The first time I was a customer here was for my senior prom and my nails turned out terrible. I got a hot pink french manicure and the lines weren't clean or even, plus the pink tips were not painted on thick enough so you could see through them. This last time that I went I got bright yellow acrylics done and they look TERRIBLE! I asked for coffin shape and hey are completely uneven in length and width. He was rushing through the entire process and took no time to look and make sure everything was clean and well done. They are also incredibly lumpy and the nail polish is once again see-through in spots and full of air bubbles from him rushing. I will not be coming back to this place! Because of this encounter I will have to go to another salon to get them fixed which means I'll be spending more money. I would say this is definitely not a good place to go especially if you want to have a fun relaxing experience and end up happy with the results. read more

I like the nails side of the salon and the wine is a nice option. Very friendly and good prices. The hair salon side is the best though. All friendly women and best stylist there is Shelly Nabors. I have always been pleased with TL Nail's service until recently. I had gel polish put on my nails last Thursday (5 days ago), it looked great but started peeling up on the edges the next day. I went today to have it fixed. The manager Kim was rude and said that rarely happened and was upset that I didn't remember the name of who had done my nails. She was then forced to do my nails which seemed to thrill her. She told me my repair was free and so I would have to wait. She then asked me as she was painting my nails if she could charge me five dollars for the polish color change, granted this was after she told me it was free about five different times. I told her no, that I had just paid for them to be done on Thursday and she had already told me it would be free. My nails look horrible. She left nail polish all around my nails and there is even a piece of lint/hair in one of them. She did not even check my nails before I got up from the chair as normally happens. She just sat in front of me filing her own nails and said I was done. So much for customer service. read more

So I am conflicted with this place. I went with my mother and grandmother a couple nights ago because my mom wanted to do a fun sweet surprise for the 3 of us. First thing, we walked in and my mom asked the hostess privately to have a female for my grandmother. She says okay, then a few minutes later walks over to all of us and proceeds to ask my grandmother in front of us and the male techs if she is okay with having a male tech. EXCEEDINGLY unprofessional. We told you privately, and then you put her on the spot like that? She was not comfortable with it but nor is she comfortable saying no, so she went along. She was sat next to my mother in the pedicure chairs, and both ordered the same paraffin wax pedicures. However, my mom got a lovely scrub and massage - my grandmother's tech was done several minutes before my mom's, without a massage or half of what was paid for. Meanwhile, I was rushed off to the side by another male tech for my manicure. He didn't speak a word to me for several minutes, and then the first thing he said was offering me a tiny discount if I got the gel polish instead, trying to shove the more expensive manicure on me when my mom had already paid and laid everything out. Then, HE DIDN'T EVEN TAKE OFF ALL OF THE POLISH I HAD PREVIOUSLY. He took off most of it, and painted over what was left on the sides. By the end, his fresh polish didn't even go to the ends of my nails, he got polish on the skin around my nails, and had already sat another customer down next to me to do a manicure when he was finished. Talk about feeling rushed - I could not say anything about my poorly done manicure, nor did I feel comfortable complaining because my mom was here and trying to do a sweet thing for me and my grandmother, and I didn't want to disappoint her. And even worse, while he was painting my nails, he brings out a bottle of acetone and pours a bunch into the polish!!! Right in front of me. So I knew the manicure was going to be even more poor quality and very short lasting. Terrible! My pedicure was better - my tech was a sweet girl. She forgot my chair was broken and water leaked everywhere and she had to mop in the middle of my pedicure. Yeah massage function panel was also broken and fell and hit my new manicure. My toes turned out okay but my big toe was smudged when she put on my flipflops. I didn't get a massage really either like my mom. The pedicure was okay and the girl tried, and some stuff like the broken chair wasn't her fault - but she did know about it and forgot. The owner came by and gave me wine which was nice and my mom mentioned a comment about the service my grandmother got lacking considerable next to her own. I wanted to say something about my own and demand a discount or some sort of reparation for the mostly very poor service, but as I said, I did not feel comfortable complaining in front of my mom and making her feel bad and like her surprise was a failure, because she paid quite a bit of money. The man who did my nails was extremely rude to say the least, as he was doing my nails I saw several flaws, and had to TELL him to correct the very obvious flaws. It was a little past closing when he sent me to sit under the dryer. I was sitting there for about 15 minutes when I realized that he was gone! I am new in town from South Florida and had been looking for a nail salon, and this place was recommended to me. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of my services. The staff was not warm or friendly and didn't make the experience pleasant at all. However, that is something that I can absolutely overlook for a high quality manicure/pedicure. However this was the worst nail service I have gotten in all of my time, and I religiously get my nails done, so that should say something. I always bring my own polish because I know that most nail places water down their polishes with acetone to make them last longer, which results in a dull and easily chipping manicure. However I was very upset that even after doing my nails with my own polish, that the technician watered down their already seemingly poor quality top coat with acetone, so now my manicure was guaranteed to be poor quality which really upset me. I was not prompted to pay before my polish, which meant as I was drying, I had to fumble through my purse to get my wallet, which made me chip 2 of my nails. I requested to have them fixed and the technician painted over them, basically not fixing the problem, because there were still clumps of nail polish on my fingers. What really got me was the price. Coming from Florida, I expected that a manicure/pedicure in South Carolina would be at least comparable. However, the mani/pedi was definitely over priced, and they don't do a combo like most nail places do. For a far below mediocre service I was very upset to be paying such an unreasonable price. To really put the icing on the cake, a nail smudged as I got in the car, and another one smudged after an hour as I was preparing dinner. I will definitely not be returning to the salon. read more

I took my teenage girls here as a special treat for Easter. The staff was nice to me as I arrived. I received a phone call while I waited so I stepped outside so I did not disturb the others. I paid and tipped before my girls came out to tell me of their experience: a cut cuticle, one of the manicurist burped (yes burped!) in her face and didn't excuse herself, one manicurist watched TV as she worked on the girl's nails, the girls felt the staff was talking about them and me because they kept nodding their head in my direction and shaking their head (it is really rude to chat in a language others don't understand in front of them!!) and finally, blobby polish job. I went to go get broken nail repaired and a fill-in done. I got there at 6:15 when they said that they close at 7. They were locking the doors, so I said, "I thought you didn't close until 7, but I guess I'll just come back." No big deal ya know? The lady was not very kind at all but said "What do you need?" and I told her and she just tells me to sit down, rudely. So I sit down, the last rushes through fixing my nail and it looks terrible and so of course I'm not happy but she's ready to leave and asks me how I will be paying. All I have on me is my debit card. I told her this and she says, "Oh, I will have to charge you more then because there is a minimum charge." I said, " Well I was going to get them filled in but you were in a rush and the other lady said you couldn't" So she charges me double the cost for a job I'm going to get redone tomorrow. I am not happy. I very regularly go here and have spent lots of money here. I will not be going back. I could have dealt with the broken nail for 12 more hours had they just kindly asked me to come back. No big deal. I went here because the receptionist spoke English and a neighbor recommended it. It is the only positive thing I can say. The pedicure was rushed and not at all relaxing. Tepid water, massage chair that did what it wanted to do. Someone finally unplugged it for me. The manicure was a disaster. In spite of being repeatedly told that I did not want acrylics, that is exactly what they applied. ( I had specified gel nails when I made the appointment.) There was no eye contact, no sense that I mattered at all. And, to top it all off, it was more expensive than my old salon in Boston. You deserve better. Go elsewhere. read more

Nice people but you feel rushed! Doesn't help when your pedicure has a time limit next to it. For $32, I got a quick exfoliation of my feet only that lasted less than 1 minute. In my salon in Atlanta, they are more thorough. A pedicure of this price goes for at least 45 minutes. The stone massage was nice and lasted longer but they skipped some steps. Again once you are in that chair, you feel like they're playing Beat the Clock. Best part is massage chair. My advice to this spa: drop the time limits, encouraged personalized service (everyone's feet are different) and use sugar scrub on the whole calf. read more

I graduate Ged School tomorrow ,today i went to get my nails done and I am so mad ! she didn't put the tips on right , then patched it up by putting acrylic UNDER my nails :-( I used to love this place ! Every time i didn't hold my hand just right she would let out a pissed off huff and made me feel like shit .I also brought my two year old to get her nails done with mommy and they got very impatient with her so she withdrew and wouldn't let them do it .I got outside in the light and noticed that they had put acrylic over top of a small dark fiber on my finger and there were so many bubbles it looks blotchy .She also painted over uneven surfaces on the nail and it looks very uneven and scratched .she also got acrylic on my finished nail while trying to fix it and didn't touch it up . I called them as soon as i got in my car and told them i was unhappy and as soon as she knew it was me she told me i can come back in but i cant bring my child in with me . What was i supposed to do ? leave her in the car ? she said she moved around to much . I saw a lady with a freakin dog in there and they didn't say a word to her but they tell me i cant bring my child?. I almost cried :-( Here i took my child to have mommy daughter time and they act like she is a trouble . I will never return to this spa . So not only did i have a terrible day so did my child. I was in excruciating pain due to my fibromyalgia and was very sad that the (SPA) I went to treated me with disrespect .
