My cat was very ill and although they are not a emergency clinic they gave me exceptional care I had to take my baby to the hospital, then he came home only to have to return to Tlc for his last visit. THE DRS AND STAFF ARE Amazing, they truly Love Love Your cats kittens and They love what they do The best care you can get every time. I will return if I get another fur baby!

But they don't treat me like I'm ever too much of a bother, and the care they give my buddy is incredible. They listen to the whole story, they involve you in decisions about the direction of care you'd like to take - aggressive or conservative, which again, with our medical history is important. Today I was offered one expensive treatment plan or another much more affordable one "but the plan will be the same" - so they didn't try to convince me of paying more for the same outcome, didn't try to "upsell" the visit, but at least gave me options for now and FYI for the future. I usually see Dr Lee, but we've seen other docs there and I'd see any of them! I'll say, some of the other reviews sound like "you problems," so please don't read too subjectively into all reviews. We came to a new vet with a small chip on our shoulders, but VP has absolutely put us at total ease.

It's current through September, and we planned to do it at the next appointment due to cost. Once in the exam room, the vet repeatedly pushed the rabies shot, even after I declined multiple times. I explained the cost concern and that it hadn't expired, but my "no" was not respected. I felt interrogated, bullied, and like I had no say in my own pet's care. As a non-confrontational person, being forced to defend my decision over and over was overwhelming and upsetting. I left feeling unheard, drained, and on the verge of tears. No should mean no -- especially when it comes to my pet and my budget.

We no longer live in that state and I have honestly never found a vet as good as she was. We have just started seeing Dr. Williamson, but after three visits, I already know that she's the best vet we've found since then. She may even be on the same level as our vet in Michigan. What sets Dr. Williamson apart -- and what reminds me of our old vet in Michigan -- is that she really cares. She never rushes an appointment. She always takes the amount of time that it takes, period. She answers all of my questions, explains things thoroughly and gives us good suggestions that are both smart and practical (because hey as much as we love our dogs, we aren't rich!). She also thinks ahead -- giving refills on meds so you don't have to bring your dog back in just to get a prescription and offering some good common sense advice in a calm, reassuring manner that makes me feel at ease. I also love that she and her staff are really thinking about how to make the vet a less terrifying place for animals, since our dogs are afraid of everything. They are currently testing "no stress" environments, avoiding using the overhead fluorescent light in favor of softer in-room lighting and even playing relaxing music. I know some people will laugh at that, but our dogs find the vet to be a really stressful experience (since bad or painful things usually happen there), and I at least really appreciate a vet that thinks about things from the dog's point of view. While the jury is still out on whether Dr. Williamson is as good as our Michigan vet, I can tell you that she is for sure our new regular vet. Best we've found in the Twin Cities. Don't let the location in a strip mall fool you -- this is an A+ vet clinic, and you should take your pets there.

I have German Shepherd dogs and they didn't seem comfortable or able to properly give them the care they needed. They acted nervous and afraid to give them the care they needed and therefore my GSD didn't get the care he needed from this office. I brought my dog to Rockford Road Animal Hospital and it was a completely different experience. The vet techs and veterinarians there understood how to deal with this breed and were able to treat him and give him the care he needed. Whereas at Northwest Animal Hospital they "tried" treating him and were not able to and sent us away causing us to spend more money on additional appointments which resulted in my dog getting a delayed medical diagnosis he needed. I wouldn't recommend Northwest Animal Hospital for breeds of dogs that can be a bit more challenging. It's all about the approach and it was a day and night experience with Rockford Road Animal Hospital compared to them. I will continue bringing my cats there but I won't be bringing my dogs there again.

And it's not even because of their INSANELY high, jacked up during COVID, prices! My dog had a dental here that was literally $1,800. I actually despise them more because of their absolutely terrible customer service. Specifically, Molly, at the front desk got into an argument with me in front of my children. They make everything difficult, take forever to fill prescriptions, and don't let you direct the care of your dog. Don't give them your money.

Dr. Townes was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate, taking the time to thoroughly explain everything and answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed. It was clear how much genuine care and attention Dr. Townes gives to each pet. The staff was just as exceptional--friendly, professional, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. They helped make both me and my pet feel comfortable and at ease throughout the visit. The hospital was clean, well-organized, and efficiently run. I truly appreciate the dedication, kindness, and excellent care provided by Dr. Townes and the Banfield Plymouth staff. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate veterinary team. Best thing is that they are open on Saturdays. That is added advantage for working couples like us.

Extremely Disappointed with Lack of Communication and Thoroughness…read more I brought my 17-year-old cat to Banfield for jaw swelling. Dr. Adriana Sachs diagnosed infected teeth and recommended extraction surgery. Given my cat's age and chronic kidney disease (managed with a prescription diet for 6+ years), I had serious concerns. Dr. Sachs acknowledged the risk but quickly pivoted the conversation to cost, which felt dismissive. I called days before surgery with questions and specifically asked for Dr. Sachs to return my call. I never received one--only a generic reminder voicemail. At check-in, I was told the doctor tried to call but couldn't leave a message due to a "full voicemail box." This was false; I had no missed calls or voicemails, and my logs confirm it. I asked to speak to the vet before surgery and again was told she was too busy. After surgery, she still did not speak with me--a tech handled discharge instructions. When my cat declined post-op, I called asking for another round of antibiotics and pain meds. I was told nothing could be done without another appointment. Throughout the entire experience, Dr. Sachs never once communicated directly with me. I went to another vet and immediately received compassionate, thorough care. My cat was diagnosed with a common cancer that explained the infection and swelling. The new vet questioned why no biopsy was done during the initial surgery and had difficulty even obtaining records from Banfield. I do not recommend Dr. Adriana Sachs. The poor communication, lack of thorough diagnostics, and general disregard for my concerns resulted in over two months of unnecessary suffering for my cat. She is now in palliative care and finally comfortable.
