We got our little Maltese, Kaos 2 months ago now and we couldn't be happier! We got him right at 12 weeks because he is so small and I really appreciate that they did not allow us to have him any sooner so that he had the best start to his health. He is the sweetest dog I've ever had or even been around and he is truly a blessing. The woman who helped us through the process (I'm so sorry I'm blanking on her name right now) was so kind and was very responsive to all of our messages and our requests for updates and pictures. I don't really understand how people give this place a bad name, I believe my family got my childhood dog (also Maltese) from this breeder and he lived a wonderful, loving 15 years. Puppy love at first sight! We call our new Maltese Soffice (sew-fee-chay), which means Fluffy in Italian. Soffie for our US friends. She answers to both, probably because they sound the same. She's an adorable and love-able pup, that was immediately friendly towards us and has become an irreplaceable member of our family. We've had her for almost 2 weeks, the Vet proclaimed her healthy and clearly loved. She had no observable bad habits or fear of humans (no ducking or biting when someone reaches for her). Very good sign the Breeder is at least kind to these animals and has some interactions. As of today, she has learned the basic commands (sit, stay, come) and has a fair grasp of potty time. She loves to play outside while Dad works at the patio table and watches. My yard is littered with sticks from her pulling them out of our wood pile. Thank you Theresa for such a beautiful pup. We hope to use you again in the future if the need ever arrises. read more

Purchased my min-pin from TLC Kennel. While my initial interaction was positive, I came to find out my dog was blind in one eye. Understanding there was no way of knowing if this was simply a birth defect, I forwarded them the medical report as a precaution. Two months later, they have yet to even respond. Not even a simple, I am so sorry to hear!! I would think ANY quality breeder would at least take the time to respond. Suspect they are more of a puppy mill than anything. read more

Be very careful with these folks. They will say things like you get the pick of the litter. Then I well I had to give that one to someone else. I put a deposit down in April of 2022. After several alledged litters still no dog. Then they tried to push off other breeds I never expressed interest in. Finally they say they will return deposit after 7 months they claimed they are sending a refund. What a joke. Be careful. They are not very honest people. I purchased a dog from TLC kennel about nine months ago. The puppy that I adopted displayed signs of aggression and resource guarding from the minute I got him home at eight weeks. I also think that the dog I received was weaned way too early and was taken away from his siblings and mother too early as well. The reason I think this is because the dog's acquired by inhibition was not developed properly and never developed in fact. Also, the dog was more orally destructive and fixated more than any dog I have ever raised. I have raised puppies all throughout my adult life. The dog also had a problem with his neck being touched. He would attack when this happened - me or anyone. There were so many things wrong that could have been avoided if certain common sense breeding protocols were followed. I had to hire a dog psychologist who told me that after being in the biz for 20 years + that I should rehome my dog because his feral nature wasn't something that was ever going to change. She said it was bad breeding. I will NEVER purchase a dog from a pseudo puppy mill again. At "TLC" kennel, they have over 30 breeds that churn out puppies. They live on a farm and their dogs are livestock - not pets that learn the necessary behavior traits they are supposed to learn from their parents and siblings and human owners. I had to rehome my dog because he was wild. There was no amount of training that would undo the damage that was done before he got to me. It was devastating and heart-wrenching. The only good thing was that my dog ended up on 40 acres of land in the middle of nowhere where his undomesticated nature and human aggression won't be a problem. The breeders also disclosed that they give their puppies to pet stores to be sold. If you don't want to support puppy mills then do not buy from TLC kennels. They are all about the money and nothing else. read more

Extremely satisfied with our new pup. We searched the pound for 6 months to find a dog that would integrate well with all of our pets but no luck. I found this commercial breeder online because I was looking for a specific type of dog and she had one! We are so blessed to have this boy in our life. We were given biweekly updates and all of our questions were answered promptly. He came to us happy, healthy, and loved. He integrated so well with our family and has completed us. Thank you!!!! As far as other reviews, from what I can't tell most of them had expectations beyond the contract which they acknowledged and signed. The contract was clear and precise.....the breeder is not in control of what happens 6 months and beyond and initial deposits are non-refundable. This information was provided upfront. This facility sells to pet stores and there is little to no loving of the dogs... so sad. If you want a certain type of dog, please check with your local Humane Assn. and put in a request. Purchased our Cocker Spaniel from TLC over 8 months ago. Couldn't be happier. Our dog is healthy and happy. We took our dog to the vet upon our return home and was given a clean bill of health. The folks at TLC were great. It was a little hard to find but we did without problem. The price was fair and everything went as planned. Wiley is now well adjusted and I would highly recommend this kennel. read more

I am in disbelief, mostly of my own stupidity for trusting this business and not reading reviews. I put a deposit down on a puppy two weeks ago with TLC and was not once told it was non refundable. During the two weeks that I did have the puppy reserved I had to hound the company to get answers or to follow up on things they said they'd do or tell me. I even texted asking for confirmation of the puppy's parent's health and got snapped at for asking. I lost my job due to COVID layoffs and decided it was not responsible financially to bring a puppy into my life which was heartbreaking. I I reached out to TLC to get my deposit back and the owner kept saying that her employee, Raylynn, ALWAYS tells people that it's non refundable to which I said I wouldn't have done it if that were the case. She knocked my intelligence in pet ownership by saying puppies are not like books that you can check out and return and that I'm playing "the Corona card". Sad to read the reviews about people bringing home unhealthy pups and finding out they sell them to pet stores. Especially Pet City which has heartbreaking reviews. Do yourselves a favor and really look into the breeder/company that you decide to go through. I didn't and will be paying for it, literally and figuratively. read more

Anyone buying from TLC kennels should know you are dealing with a puppy mill read the reviews, the owner even admits she sells to pet stores and Pet City in Colorado Springs is one of them. If you decide to add a puppy to your family then realize that NO REPUTABLE breeder EVER places their puppies in a pet store window, this is not a reputable breeder! Google puppy mills and learn how the parents of your puppy live their entire lives breeding until their bodies wear out, it's a horrible industry that needs to be stopped. read more

We purchased a male Shiba Inu from TLC Kennels in Sept of 2017. He was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma (cancer) and only given 3-4 weeks to live without treatment. Even with treatment we were told he wouldn't make it more than 12mo. Since the cancer was so aggressive we decided to spend the last days of his life making him comfortable and ultimately had to make the decision to euthanize him. We are so devastated at the loss of our loved one, its something I never want to experience again. Since our dog was so young we contacted Teresa at TLC Kennels and had sent her all the medical bills and explained the situation. Teresa stated they only guarantee health for 6mo and that she wouldn't be responsible for helping with any of the bills or the cost of the dog. We didn't expect them to reimburse us for anything but thought they may help us out of the kindness of their heart, clearly I was wrong. Very disappointed in everything that has transpired. I just wish we would have went to a real Shiba Inu breeder, not someone with such little compassion. read more

Purchased a German Shepherd puppy at 8 weeks. Love him till death. Raising a puppy is somewhat similar to raising kids. They cost money, they don't come potty trained and chew stuff when teething. They also live and learn so if you're not up for the task then don't jump into the pool because you'll drown and post negativity on websites due to you're own failures as a pet owner! We foolishly put a cash deposit on a Cairn terrier puppy at TLC Kennel in Kit Carson, CO before seeing the facility. We had an appointment with the owner to pick one of the two females in the litter. She was not there for that meeting and had failed to let her workers know we were coming. For our $300 non-refundable hold on a female puppy we were allowed to see the litter's two female puppies in the reception area only. We were not allowed to see either the dame or sire and were not allowed to see the area where the puppies were living. From our observation the dogs are warehoused in kennels without personal interaction and socialization for puppies to become good pets. On principle alone we determined we would not purchase a dog from this breeding mill. When we later talked by phone to the owner, Teresa Cloud, asking for the return of our foolishly given deposit she refused. She also ended the conversation by hanging up on us. So many cages with dogs in them with no room to move or run, Our puppy did not know what grass was, We were told that 1 vaccination was given but our vet said it had not been and the puppy was to young to get one anyway.
