I can't say enough about how grateful my wife and I are for the exceptional work done by the teachers in the Giraffe and Bear classes in helping our daughter learn and grow. She attended TLC for three years until this past summer and is now in kindergarten at a private Montessori school in Fullerton. The teachers there were pleasantly surprised at how advanced she was from the very start, which is a true reflection of the dedication and care she received at TLC. A heartfelt thank-you to the head teachers and assistant teachers in the Bear and Giraffe classes for their outstanding efforts. While the management at TLC could benefit from some improvement, that concern is minor compared to the high quality of education and nurturing environment provided by the teachers. read more

It's so hard leaving your child for the first time with someone else. Especially when your child is crying for you not to leave. Ms. Gemi, Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Melissa were so wonderful and patient with us. They also use an app called Procare, where they post pictures and updates on what your child has been up to. Audrey, our daughter, is quite strong-willed and energetic and they have been nothing but amazing with her. We could not for the life of us get her to wear her glasses at home. Ms. Gemi and Ms. Melissa told me to pack it in her backpack and they would try also. I kid you not, within 3 days, she was wearing her glasses throughout the day. It does help that both Ms. Melissa and Ms. Stephanie both wear glasses and Audrey adores them :) This place is truly a hidden gem. read more

Hands down the best preschool in all of OC! We toured 8 different schools over the course of 1 week to find the perfect preschool for our daughter. We're not about to shell out 1K/month for our kids to just eat, play, and nap. Here's why TLC Learning Center TOPPED our entire search (yes, even over "Montessori" labeled private schools). - Educator excellence: Multiple teachers hold masters degrees in child development and teaching. They focus on early independence and prioritize kid's social, intellectual, and emotional growth. While academics are important to every parent, I want my kids to grow up kind, respectful, and caring first! TLC educators mirror our same values and lead with LOVE. You'll see, they are so nurturing here. Melts my heart every time at pickup seeing how happy the children are in the teachers' and staff's care. - Safety, security, and privacy: I was so surprised that out of all the schools we toured, TLC was the only one with a completely secure and GATED facility. Love the location, it's tucked in a smaller side street in the heart of Ktown with a handful of businesses nearby. Not a lot of street traffic and few pedestrians. You can only access the school through a gated entry and after 9am, the entire parking lot is closed off. It feels very safe, which was a high priority for us. - "Food is so good!" That's a direct quote from my 6 year old who graduated from TLC 2 years ago and always asks if we can come back for the food lol. Clearly, I've never had it, but they send the menu out and daily meals feature lots of Asian favorites like rice and noodles, curry, and bulgogi (her fav). Might make the transition to public school cafeteria food a little more difficult, but that's a problem for future you. My daughter has been coming here since she was 2 and she has grown so much and learned so many amazing things. Each teacher has her own unique and loving way of teaching. I love that they use the Montessori technique to teach them to be independent learners but still have full support if needed. My daughter has been blessed and so have we, as a family. I love how meals are done there at the school and the meals are always nutritious and properly prepared. They allow for parents to be able to give food restrictions, due to diets or allergies. This is a Christian-base school and everyone gets along so great. Ms. Melissa, the director is so wonderful! She speaks to us parents and understands our needs and concerns, she is on top of the students and watches over everything being done. She really cares. Ms. Jay, Ms. Helene, Ms. Natalie, all of the teachers there have been wonderful and supportive, giving us, the parents, feedback and helping us to also do our best to encourage our kiddos at home. love it here. i struggled with child care and had some bad experiences but i took a tour with miss melissa and i couldn't help but fall in love. my daughter has been coming here for almost a year now and her skills have improved so much, she was potty trained so quickly and the teachers are very communicative and always keep us informed. they always have fun activities with the kids. i couldn't have asked for a better school for my daughter!! i know she is in good hands here. they use procare to keep us updated throughout the day which is great for parents like myself who need a piece of mind throughout the day. read more

They're all very passionate about the children, they go out of their way to care for their students, and go beyond just teaching education. They also have students engage in activities that reinforces responsibility, manners and good etiquette. I'm sad that my older son is leaving to start kindergarten, but we are continuing our enrollment with my younger son here for the next year. My older son has learned so much in the time he's been here as compared to at his previous preschool. My daughter attended as a 4 year old in 2021 and it was overall a decent experience. It started out amazing until her preschool teacher abruptly resigned. We adored that teacher. We noticed some turnover and new teachers throughout our short 7 months there. Based on how my daughter enjoyed and loved going to this school, I would have rated it a 4. The reason I'm knocking it down a point to a 3 is because I recently called and toured the school for my younger daughter months ago. I was told I was guaranteed a spot and to expect a call and never got one. Maybe this interim director just forgot or maybe they saw my older daughter attended TLC during a bumpy time with the preschool and decided not to call back. I've enrolled my youngest at another school and would have just liked a follow up if they didn't want to enroll my child. read more

I do strongly recommend TLC, especially for pre-k with Ms Evelyn. My daughter went to TLC when she was 3.5 years old and Ms. Evelyn was her teacher. Ms Evelyn loves teaching and very tentative to all her students. She preps her students for kindergarten really well. My daughter learned how to read and write at age 4. Ms Evelyn gave homework and for her students to read a book daily. My daughter is now in kindergarten and even though with distant learning, she is doing really well. In fact her Kindergarten teacher has recommended for my daughter to take the GATE test. I can't thank Ms Evelyn enough to prep my daughter so well for Kindergarten. TLC is an excellent preschool to prepare your children academically and socially. read more

This daycare is the BEST ONE EVER! My daughter has been since she turned 2 (the youngest to enter), and I can see a difference immediately. Now when she comes home from school she has her own little routine that is so entertaining to see. Before when we took care of her on our own, things were more lax. But since being at TLC and how they follow a routine, she comes home to repeat it, esp when it comes to dinner time. I can tell she is learning more not only by her behavior, but also by how she is always so excited to go to school. Waking her up in the morning, and to see her big smile when we tell her it's time for school just makes my day. It shows to me how well the daycare takes care of her, since she looks forward to going every morning with such energy. I appreciate how they send us home a schedule of what the curriculum will be for the month, so we know how they are educating their students. They also email us about days that follow certain themes, like the recent polka dot day, or sports day (Sadly, I had no UCLA attire for her, but next time!) so we can have them dressed accordingly. They also have a music day on Mondays, martial arts day on Wednesday, and now optional gymnastics day on Fridays. TLC seems to go out of their montessori way to make sure their students are exposed to more than just coloring and napping. One of the biggest things I appreciate is that the school uses an app called Kinderlime to keep parents notified of what goes on daily. I get notifications throughout the day, starting from when she is checked in, ho much she ate of her lunch and snack, how long she napped, if she had any BM (I only looked that one up recently...lol), up until when she is checked out. They also take the time to take and send photos, maybe even videos, but that is not on a daily basis, since they can be very busy taking care of the kids. The fact that they even use this app to inform us throughout the day in real time is almost mind boggling; when talking to so many of my other friends, none of their daycares have it, even less bother to notify them of any such things. They are also prompt in responding to any emails you may send, and always pick up the phone in a friendly way. TLC, going out of their way, yet again... And field trips! The kids are all given the same t-shirts to wear (great idea!) and parents are more than welcome to be chaperones. There was one recently to a planetarium, and I got to ride in a big yellow school bus...what's not to love about THAT? Another one is scheduled for the farm with veggie picking and going home with a pumpkin...looking forward to that . Totally recommend this place! read more

Before choosing a school for our son, I did A LOT of careful researches! A LOT!!! To be honest, there are several schools nearby our home & my work locations so TLC is actually further & costs just a little bit more. We didn't pick better convenience & less costs for very obvious reasons. Dropping my son off to TLC gives me the same feeling & peace of mind as whenever I'm dropping him off to my parents or siblings. That to me is absolutely priceless! Mr. Joseph is the administrator- he's wonderful. Ms. Christine is the director- she's amazing at her job is on top of everything! Any concerns or questions I've had have ALWAYS been addressed accordingly. Ms. Jenny (Puppy Class)- oh how much I adore her! She LOVES she children, she has so much energy & takes such great care of them. Ms. Helene (Puppy Class)- I think is one of the sweetest teachers I've ever met & I've been pretty lucky. She knows how to comfort the children & it makes me laugh whenever I see her playing with them. She genuinely enjoys it & has so much fun! I haven't come across any teachers that I don't feel comfortable with. All the teachers work well together & take awesome care of the children. I appreciate the different personalities & strengths in each one. Early drop off (7am) & late pick up (6:30pm) is available. For parents who are like me & aren't the best cooks, the meals are provided: Breakfast, lunch & afternoon snacks. Potty training is available. I get daily updates of my son via the kinderlime app. I love it! My son has grown & learned so much! I'm so grateful & couldn't be happier. I'm truly glad I chose TLC! read more

I looked at 7 schools in the area when thinking of placing my first child into Pre-School. I observed the classrooms and had an extensive list of questions (pertaining to discipline, academic curriculum, meals, rules and school routines) and TLC topped the list of the 7 schools that I observed. I was very impressed with the teachers (Ms. Jenny) upon enrolling my 2 year old. She was loving, yet firm and set appropriate boundaries. You can really tell when teachers have a true love for their children and we were so happy to have our daughter have Ms. Jenny as her first teacher. Fast forward 3 years later, my daughter is currently with another amazing teacher (Ms. Evelyn) that has her heart completely devoted to the students. Ms. Evelyn ensures that the students in her care learn not only academics, but social skills and manners as well. Ms. Evelyn prepares her students for Kindergarten. She is loving and caring, and sets firm boundaries. She makes a priority that the students in her class are well behaved. My daughter absolutely loves having Ms. Evelyn as her teacher and often talks about her teacher at home. Recently, I enrolled my son into the TLC as well. He has severe food allergies and I was extremely apprehensive with that, but his school has shown that they are on top of the extensive list of his allergies. As a parent with a child with a medical condition as his, I feel very comfortable that he is under great supervision and care. The director, Ms. Christine, is very open and accommodating with our needs and concerns. One of the issues in the past 1.5 years that I've observed is the change in the population of students that have enrolled at TLC. There are students with continued behavioral challenges that may make learning disruptive for others and sometimes it concerns me, as my children are affected by these peers. There has been 3 directors in the past 3 years. Additionally, there has been a big turnover rate in teachers (6-7) in the past year. A change in staff can be difficult for the students to adjust to, as well as for the parents. I try my best to make the teachers feel happy and appreciated because they are so impactful to growing minds, especially at this early age. My son has been with TLC since he was 2.5 years old. They potty trained him which was a huge help for a busy working mom. All the teachers are very nice and my son loves everyone there. He has improved a lot and he was well prepared for his kindergarten test. The teachers teach him manners, how to be responsible and it's great support for everything that we teach him at home (sometimes he even outsmart us). It is a year round school which helps a lot too so we don't have to arrange for care during spring break, summer and winter break. The one downside is that tuition has been raised each year since he started and we had to re-arrange our expense a bit. I also wish sometimes that tuition could be paid online and the teachers can send pictures of the children of what they do in class once a week. I just happen to be friend with 1 of the teacher on FB so I get to see updates of my son when they do something fun at school. read more

We have been with the school for a while. I can't believe how it's changed in the last couple of years. Lately it's seems to be nothing more than making more money. We would get request for gift cards or monetary "donations." Shouldn't this be from the parents' hearts for their appreciation for the teachers? It's ridiculous to be asking for it. I've attached 2 pictures that really got to me! I've kinda been going along with all their requests but this draws the line. If you read in the picture, it says, "Children who do not purchase diploma will not have one for the ceremony." ABSURD! You're basically being forced into buying this overpriced diploma just so your child is not left out. Diplomas are part of all graduation ceremony! This scheme has been used before to have kids ask their parents to write a good yelp review in order for the child to get a goodie bag. How annoying is that? Honestly I would write a good review if they just ask us to help out to rate the school. I do love the school. Teachers are great. The staffs are wonderful. Kids really learn a lot here and are very advanced for their age. I just can't stand the new administration's money seeking strategies. Treating kids like negotiation tools. At first my experience with TLC wasn't a good experience. There seemed to be a constant change in staff. However, once the new director was hired Ms. Christine I noticed how things starting changing around the day care. In my daughter's current class with Ms. Evelyn she is such a great teacher and actually teachers the kids. She sends my daughter home with homework every night and basically preps the children for kindergarten. They are also compassionate and kind understanding people. I went through some family issues of my own and they never made me feel uncomfortable but they seemed genuinely sincere about helping my daughter and my family. I will miss TLC once my daughter goes to kindergarten next year because they have been like family to me. Thank you TLC. read more

My son started coming here when he was 2.5 years old, after spending 2 years at an in home daycare. He started in the 2 yo class and has progressed thru the 3yo and now 4yo class. The teachers are all amazing and their love for what the do totally shows! Every single adult there knows my son by name and greet him everyday. They cook all meals and snacks on campus & offer and encourage the kids to eat outside their comfort zone (chicken nuggets, hotdogs, fruit, salad, carrots, cucumbers, fried rice, curry rice, etc). My son knows all his upper and lower case letters and is counting to 100 (almost). He's also learning some great manners and social skills! As an educator myself, even I'm surprised at some of the things he's learning. I definitely feel like my son is in good, caring, loving hands. They've recently started having more school events, which is great, like spirit days, police officers coming to talk about safety issues, holiday events, etc. They have school wide performances a couple times a year, which is great to see but sorta chaotic. I wish there was more organization (of the parents!) during these things. Overall, its been a great 2 years so far with TLC! read more

I rarely write reviews, this school is a gem. A great price for the quality of care and education. My son was really behind and now he is all cought up. My child also has some communication delays and TLC has really broke him out of his shell and now he is a leader in his class. The teachers really care for the kids, and are good role models you want your kids around. There is alot of activities, and celebrations. This school is high quality in education and fun. The staff is super professional. They have a great app you can track what your kid is doing and communicate with administrator. I'm a crazy lady when it come to who I leave my son with, and I highly recommend TLC. They made a huge change in my son for the better. Both of my daughters are attending this school. It's a great school. They love every moment of it. The kids have bible verse contests, field trips to interesting places, etc.. I can tell my daughters learn a lot from here. My older one always talks about her friends and teachers. My younger one would sing songs she learns from school. My son has been with TLC Learning for almost a year and he loves it. He loves his teacher Miss Michelle, he mentions her every day how nice she is. As a parent, I am extremely pleased with the education the school and teachers instill in my child. I wish I could've enrolled my son when he was two years old. 8 years ago, my oldest son graduated from TLC. And now, my daughter Jaelyn just graduated in June...TLC is a great school from the staff to a director, everyone seems very caring and devoted long hours to the kid's education...Most of the kids graduate from here is well prepared for Kindergarten in public school and beyond...My daughter is already know how to add and subtraction in preschool level. My kid was at TLC for a year and she has learned so much !!! The teachers and the principal are caring, very hardworking, and well qualified. I get a daily report of my kid's progress, the food served are excellent, and they have field trips and extra activities to further kids' learning. I heard that at least 3 of the kids (who finished TLC in June of this year) went on to the public schools got promoted to 1st grade because they've already mastered what the public school teaches in kindergartin. Yeah, I quite agree with Kelly D that everything here is Ok, except the increasing tuition fee. I remember it was $660/mon 2 years ago, but now its jump to $760/mon for a beginner. When you have 1 kid, this change is rather acceptable. However, it turns to be a big amount (expense increases $2000 per year) which is worth considering when you send 2 kids here. By the way, I would like to send a great thank to Ms. JENNY, the teacher caring newcomers and potty training. They have really big problem with their security. All of doors are open, no password, no locked. cause they do after school and preschool in same area, some big kids go through the campus and forget to lock doors. Which means your kids in a open area where everyone can reach your kids. When I mentioned this problem to the director, she just ignore and be irritable. read more

My son Daniel started daycare at TLC last March 2011 when he was just a little over 3 years old. Now at 4 1/2 years old, he was accepted to regular Kindergarten. Before the 2nd week was over, he was promoted to 1st grade. After the 3rd week, he has been sent to advanced reading class. TLC Learning Center is not your ordinary day care center. Not only the children have fun but the Director, Miss Mary and the teachers are very friendly, warm, caring, knowledgeable and experienced with how to discipline and hone the children into well rounded and smart individuals though their well planned and balance day care programs that motivates children, stimulates them intellectually, socially and emotionally, and also shows them environmental awareness. Great daycare. This daycare has a family environment run by caring staff who take you in as a family. They never fail to ask about our older son who doesn't attend the school, and our younger son loves going there.
