    Tiny Tigers Class!

I can't say enough about TMAX. After an exhaustive search of martial arts schools in the area, I wanted to find a place that would be a great place for my 4 and 6 year olds for not only taekwondo, but most importantly discipline and respect. Honestly, there are not many schools that would take on this age... because it's hard to do. Master Lee, Master Mulen, Master Tabby and all the assistant instructors are amazing at keeping this age group engaged, fun and active. I have already seen the confidence, coordination and respect improve with my kids in a short amount of time. Looking forward to the future!

    It's Colorful & well organized.

Master Lee and Master Marlon are so nice to the kids and at the same time they teach the kids about disciplines.

Grand Master Lim and ALL the instructors are amazing--patient, encouraging, and truly dedicated to helping each student grow both in skill, confidence and discipline. We've seen such positive changes in our son's focus, discipline, and self-esteem since he started. The classes are well-organized, energetic, and fun, while still maintaining a strong sense of respect and structure. It's clear that the school cares deeply about each child's progress, both on and off the mat. If you're looking for a Taekwondo program that builds character as much as it teaches martial arts, K Taekwondo is the place to be!

We randomly stopped by K Taekwondo on a Saturday (they were doing belt testing) and the kids loved what they saw. They have a really nice intro package (something like 6 weeks and free uniform for 40 dollars) and the kids enjoyed it from the get go. They have been going now for 3 months and overall the experience has been great. The instructors are great and the Grand Master is amazing. Kids look forward to the weekly classes (2 classes per week) and we are impressed by all they have learned to date. Would definitely recommend, for kids and teens and adults alike (they have a separate adults class).

Master Shin is usually the instructor when we attend the classes. He has patience with the kids, thoroughly explains all the steps and can be strict to the children when needed. As a parent, I appreciate an instructor stepping in and reiterating my son home values and philosophy of what kids no longer have these days (such as trust, integrity, confidence, and focus). The students also learn about home rules, how to show respect to one another and most importantly to family members. It sounds cheesy but after moving up to a green belt, I have noticed tremendous maturity and focus on my child's part. My son loves attending the classes (2 times/week) as well as his sparring class (1/week). He enjoys running around with warm-up exercises, learning his forms and learning self-defense techniques. Each month there is a belt test in which children will be tested their forms to go onto the next high belt. TKD is just like any other extra curricular activity (tennis, basketball and piano). If you don't practice, you will never get good at your sport or talent. As for my son, he knows practicing and achieving a new belt makes him feel confident. He understands that every time he works hard for something, the result is rewarding. I can't say if the cost for TKD class is expensive or not. I can only say it is worth it since there are 2 classes offered/week and a free sparring class that is included ( one time fee of $175 for equipment). This week he will be going to his first TKD tournament. Win or not, it will be a good experience for him to see how other kids practice and do well on their forms. I have to say after a year of TKD, his footwork and coordination has improved along with his maturity level.

Unacceptable Manager Conduct…read more My daughter keeps asking me after what happened today: 'Dad, why did auntie Cindy lie?' For many years even before the pandemic, we have been taking both of our kids to SK Taekwondo at this location. We came to know SK Taekwondo through our kids parents referral, and we value their teaching on the skill, and good character building such as discipline, self-control, and respectful etc. But, our good experience completely changed today after an incident that involved my daughter and how the manager, Cindy, was handling it. In the middle of the class today, my daughter came to me and told me that her foot was hurt, and that she might need to put on a bandage to prevent further damage so she can continue the class. I took a look at her foot, not serious but a little blood due to the cut. I told her that she could try to go ask the manager, Cindy, to borrow a bandage if she has one available. To my surprise, my daughter came back and told me the manager told her that there is no blood, don't be a baby, and get back to the class. I told her that maybe she should try ask again because I don't think my daughter should go back to the class to continue practicing her kicking lesson with an open wound on her foot, as this may make her existing cut worse with more pain and possible germs get in through her cut. Then the manager came back with my daughter, with a bandage in her hand, but asking me to go to her office. When we're in her office, instead of providing the bandage so my daughter can continue her class, the manager told me that girls and boys took injury differently, and girls tend to make small little hurt a big issue to walk away from the class. She told me that there is no blood on my daughter's leg, and that she does not need a bandage to go back to her class. While I agree that there might be some kids or girls would do that, but I have to disagree on her saying that there is no blood on my daughter's leg, and she does not need any bandage to cover her cut for her to continue the same kicking move in the class. I told her to take a closer look on my daughter's leg as I can clearly see blood, and the opening is exposing her cut to germs. She asked my daughter to show her leg again, and immediately, without looking at it, she said that was an old wound. I was like, 'What?" Are you serious? That is clearly a fresh new cut and she didn't even care to take a second look to say it was an old scar! She then went outside to bring in Master Lee. I repeated what happened to Master Lee, and the manager, right away denied that she say anything about mentioning on 'old scar wound'. I was so shock and unbelievable on what I heard!! She was literally lying in front of me, and my daughter for something that she just said 1 minute ago! Why would she do that????? I have to confront her on her lying in front of my daughter, and gave us a hard time while we simply asking for a little piece of bandage so my daughter can continue on the class! And she told us to GET OUT OF HER OFFICE! Twice! I cannot believe what just happened to us, and the way we're treated! This should not happened to any parents! As a parent that sends kids to this facility for years, I would expect that the kids safety is a priority, but this manager's conduct today clearly tell a different story! I also do not believe that 'Telling a lie' in front of a kid is a good example for all the kids that look up to their masters of this facility! It clearly violate the value of good character building and teaching that we see this facility is enforcing! I'm very disappointed over how the manager handled this little request of ours and set a bad example to my daughter. She definitely owes us an apology for her conduct today! For these reasons, I have asked for the owner's contact and I think he needs to know what happened if he is serious about enforcing his teaching at this facility. Master Lee took down my name, phone number, and email, and told me that the owner will be calling me. I will be posting future updates on how the owner is responding to this incident which seriously ruined the trust that we have rendered to his team at this facility.

I took 4 years of martial arts when I was a teenager and my son (age 14 and now with 7 years…read moreexperience) is a black belt in karate. When we started looking in this area for what will become his new dojo, we were open to starting over in a new style, so we read all the reviews and websites for all the local instructors and then visited the advanced classes of the 9 within our acceptable travel distance. Both of us being experienced and knowing the path to black belt can take many years, we committed to really finding the right instructor/school for him by training with the 4 of those 9 that we liked best. SK Taekwondo was the fourth of the four we've tried and where we've ended up staying. Due to Covid, we waited over a year to try this place because they weren't allowing parents to watch while Covid was in full swing. We've been here for over 10 months now and it was definitely worth the wait. After a couple months of my son training here, my wife even signed up! SK Taekwondo is 5 stars all the way and I have so many good things to say about it. When we first started reviewing martial arts schools in the area, our intuition said SK would be the place we'd end up at because the classes looked like they were super fun and the training facility was huge and beautiful. It had great parking and a large area with seating for parents to watch. The little kids' classes were especially fun to watch with a dedication to both fun and discipline that was clear in both the joy of the students while training and the speed and enthusiasm they all demonstrated with lining up, doing drills and exercises, enthusiastically answering "yes sir!" as they did, etc. The school also has systems in place to support their younger students in getting good grades and being responsible and respectful at home. For the adult classes, which start at age 13, the same level of discipline and fun are encouraged. Every class consists of a warmup and stretching followed by technique training. Almost all exercises are partner exercises, so my son got to know other students quickly and there is a real sense of community. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and absolutely wonderful people, kind and supporting, friendly and welcoming to both students and parents like me who are just watching, and clearly dedicated to the sport. Instructors rotate and the classes are quite different each time, which our whole family enjoys. In the 10+ months we've been training, I can say that not a single class has been the same as any other. The foundational skills are included in everything and forms are usually 5-10 minutes at the end. The rest is really varied but always interesting and a great workout. Equipment like kicking pads, agility ladders, cones, etc. are used frequently and this makes the classes even more fun and diverse. They play music during the warmups and drills and that adds to the fun and energy of the environment too. Fridays are dedicated to sparring, testing is every couple months, and they have a "Black Belt Club" option where you can pay up front for unlimited classes until you get your black belt. This is the best price and what my son and wife both ended up doing. Estimated time to achieve black belt is 2.5 to 3 years if you are dedicated and attend class at least a couple times a week. This place is absolutely amazing and I could not recommend it higher. If you are looking for you or your child, come in and watch or try the actual class you/they will be in. Take advantage of whatever intro offer SK is offering at the time and experience it for yourself. If you do, I'm confident you'll be as happy and impressed as we have been!

AlI have are fond memories of the place. This was in the early 90's. From the stretching (which I hated), the forms and one-steps, to the sparring and board breaking, it was an awesome hobby as a Ninja Turtle, martials arts, and ninja fan. I have good memories of the head instructor and owner, Young Park, who I believe still teaches to this day. He reminded me of Mr. Miyagi from the Karate Kid movies back then and I remember him to very patient and kind. One of my favorite memories was a school wide outing for all the students and families to Wilderness park one Saturday. We participated in a few forms and martial arts exercises, but the bulk of the time was reserved for socializing with one another, playing games, eating, and just having fun! I have a friend whose son recently joined and I guess Young Park still teaches there. He's like an ageless wonder. I highly recommend this place!
