Worst mortgage broker ever! Do NOT deal with these falsely…read moremarketed & shady people. I was directed to them as I work in public education for the state of CA. They are the "Teacher Next Door" program lender. DO NOT be fooled - they are amazingly archaic, oblivious to the current real estate market, and offer very high interest rates! We applied for a pre-approval (not full underwriting) with a hard pull on our credit, submitted documents, proof of income and pay stubs. A week later, they reply and said they are sending out written letter of verification of employment. I said WHAT ? We are not at that stage of underwriting so I was confused. So we then get a call from their network "realtor" asking if we wanted to look for a home. I asked realtor "um where do you suggest we look for a home in Los Angeles County for under $400,000 ?". The realtor said nothing - I said, how about a vacant lot in the Mojave desert ? The realtor said she knows something about Southern California realty so tried to apologize. I could not believe the gall of this mortgage company to offer such a low amount to a state of California employee! Very disappointed with this company. Don't waste your time!

If I had done this, I would've only lost half the money this joker cost me! Slick Tom called me four days before closing to inform me that -- nyuk, nyuk, shucks! -- looks like the down payment is going to be triple what I told you before! Golly! Turns out, Tom doesn't actually know too much about the products he's selling, and completely screwed up my loan. First, he claimed it's a problem he never sees. (I spoke to a lender in another state who said this is completely incorrect, and any competent lender would have recognized this on "day zero.") Then he decided to blame underwriters, and various other people not named Tom. If for some reason you still pick this sleaze, make sure you communicate my email only. He seems to have a hard time keeping his stories straight when he calls you up with his really weird, phony salesman voice, declaring he has "good news." Buyer beware!
