They loaned me samples of shingle colours so I could make a choice that best matched my house. Super patient with me. Once I had made my decision, they arrived when they said they would and their team of installer were knowledgeable, professional, expert roof installers. They left zero mess behind when they were done. I have two dogs and it was super important that there not be any nails or shingles for the dogs to pick up. And three years of ice storms and high winds have not caused any shingles to fly away or any leaks. The roof is water-tight, beautiful, and just what I wanted. I absolutely recommend this company.

During construction, they raised their prices and ended up charging me the equivalent of the other bids. I refused to pay the final invoice when they tried to gouge me. They sued me, I hired a lawyer, and they eventually dropped the lawsuit and settled without me owing them another dollar. The amateurs did not ask me to sign an NDA, which is why I can share this. Stay away from this company. They are horrible and work with the worst subcontractors. At some point, everything they did fell apart: leaks from the bathroom ceiling, peeling paint (they forgot the primer), and electrical and plumbing work that was an absolute mess.

Upstairs was our master suite with washroom and closet. Designed by Carta Architecte who were amazing to work with https://cartaarchitecte.com/ We entrusted this design to Newsam to build. 1) Took 4x time to complete compared to quoted time. Quoted 3 months for a job that started June 2020. It took til mid-January 2021 for majority of work to get completed & full job was not completed til mid-July 2021. 2) Cost was 25% over quoted budget. 3) Quality of a work was a solid B+ or 7.5/10. Many small details only addressed after us following up several times. In conclusion, we've worked with other companies for smaller jobs but due to size of our reno we had gone for a larger company - Newsam, and we regretted it. Though at the end the job was done to design it was an emotionally painful, long drawn out & overpriced experience.
