Even after the job was done I had water coming in from a mysterious spot but Luc himself came over and investigated the problem with me. He helped me by installing a free flash cover on my second roof and installed cap on top of the ventilation pipe that was causing the problem. In all fairness to Luc and Pareco it was not their work that caused the water infiltration, it was old pipe that was never decommissioned properly. They were not the cheapest but they were not the most expensive either. The owner had reassured me that it was not an immediate emergency job (with those emergency costs!!) We set a date, with the understanding that if there was a warm patch Pareco would accelerate the schedule to: immediately. They came when they were supposed to, without any prodding. The work was professionally done, they cleaned up when finished; they came back to complete the final steps as they said they would. There were no surprises, no hidden surcharges, no BS. Exactly what all the references I called said. I will definitely use them again, probably for renos as the roof has a 20year guarantee! Good job well done.

They inspect our roof, immediately know the issue and quote us on the spot. They completely removed the old rotten area of our roof and meticulously corrected the issues and made it look seamless. We couldn't believe that he completed all this work, had it buttoned up and secured within 2 hours that same day. His responsiveness in our time of need exemplifies his professionalism. During construction, they raised their prices and ended up charging me the equivalent of the other bids. I refused to pay the final invoice when they tried to gouge me. They sued me, I hired a lawyer, and they eventually dropped the lawsuit and settled without me owing them another dollar. The amateurs did not ask me to sign an NDA, which is why I can share this. Stay away from this company. They are horrible and work with the worst subcontractors. At some point, everything they did fell apart: leaks from the bathroom ceiling, peeling paint (they forgot the primer), and electrical and plumbing work that was an absolute mess.

Upstairs was our master suite with washroom and closet. Quoted 3 months for a job that started June 2020. It took til mid-January 2021 for majority of work to get completed & full job was not completed til mid-July 2021. 2) Cost was 25% over quoted budget. 3) Quality of a work was a solid B+ or 7.5/10. Many small details only addressed after us following up several times. In conclusion, we've worked with other companies for smaller jobs but due to size of our reno we had gone for a larger company - Newsam, and we regretted it. Though at the end the job was done to design it was an emotionally painful, long drawn out & overpriced experience.

They never visited the work site during construction to verify the quality of the work being done. Before making my second and final payment I showed them my concerns regarding some cracked boards and other issues. They only agreed to redo some of the cracked and unevenly cut railings on the two visible/exposed sides of the deck (imagine various railings of different length!). As for the other concerns I showed them, they repeatedly reassured me that it was nothing to worry about. Unfortunately, only days after installation, some of the cracks on the boards (deck and stairs) began showing even more pronounced cracks to the point that some boards have literally split in two in their entire length. I contacted them mid-July to explain that I was concerned that some of the boards had now completely cracked in two, in their entire length, from end to end. I sent a detailed e-mail along with pictures taken during the construction and since, spoke to Wendy. She agreed to have Real come by on the following Monday (as they don't work on weekends). But, instead of a visit, I received an e-mail saying that they would not be coming and that based on the pictures they believe that the damages I showed them are normal and therefore they don't need to see the deck in person and will not be making any repairs. I regret trusting this company with my hard earned money. I have had to get third parties involved to help find a resolution. They have ruined what should have been a peaceful summer and provided a product that is unsafe. Please think carefully before you hire them and trust them with your money.

They did an outstanding job, always kept us informed of what they were doing, and cleaned up the site daily. But what really impressed us was the advice they gave us on a second job on a chalet in the country whose roof had suddenly started to leak. I was sure we would need not only new shingles but major work on the roof deck. They drove up to have a look on the same day I told them about the leak and got back to me within hours. JFD told us the shingles and deck were in fine shape and the water was probably coming in from a loose or missing roofing nail. Even though the chalet is not where they normally take on work, they said they would fix the leak and change the ventilation grills to boot. All in all, a very satisfactory experience!
