The menu had options that satisfied both me and my friend so we opted for Tokio Hotel. I was in the mood for pasta and the one that I got was quite tasty, there was some chilli oil in it so it was pleasantly spicy. My friend ordered the steak that was on special for $20. The options for $20 were steak, lamb, or salmon which is awesome value. The views of Barangaroo were nice too. We sat in the patio. As we were leaving it got quite windy so we brought in all of our plates and cutlery and glasses so that they wouldn't be blown away by the wind and swallowed up by the harbour. I definitely wasn't dissatisfied or displeased with anything about the restaurant but it wasn't especially impressive or spectacular or cute. Good value, nice surroundings, solid menu. read more

This was one of our first stops in Sydney because we had a few hours until hotel check in, because of proximity, and because my husband wanted a breakfast option. They happened to have breakfast all day. I had the grilled barramundi with veggies--carrots and spaghetti squash. My husband had the scrambled eggs. He thought his eggs were well scrambled. My barramundi wasn't bad, but overall the dish needed some seasoning. The service was acceptable. This is a restaurant off the strip in Darling Harbour. It's not fantastic, but probably fine for a quick bite. It's not gourmet or particularly memorable. From what I understand, it turns into a night club and bar, so maybe that particular demographic would find it more appealing. read more

I came here with a few mates for coffee one morning and as we sat outside looking over the harbour trying to decide what to do for the day while we sipped away on our coffees and juice we decided that this would be a good place to have a quick breakfast. We found the food to be delicious and reasonably priced and the waiters to be polite and courteous. Also there's no split bills so keep that in mind when visiting. It was a perfect lazy morning with friends and I can't wait to come back for their Eggs Benedict. read more

I've been staying in Sydney near Darling Harbour for the last three days; every morning I would go to this place for a fantastic breakfast meal. The staff is polite and friendly, and would be interested in the art and writing I would do at my table. The tables are always clean when I've visited and the view of the marina from the patio is positively gorgeous! Their French Pancakes (had with Nutella) were absolutely delicious, the Aussie Breakfast was top notch and the iced cappuccino was very soothing! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting near the harbour. It was a brilliant experience for me and will no doubt be a pleasant experience for you! read more

Our first stop in Sydney, Tokio Hotel offered us a respite from the humidity of outside, which was naturally a big shock after being on the plane for a stupid number of hours! With the pleasure of looking out over Darling Harbour, our first view of Sydney, we were all after something different; the parents hadn't been fed as much as I had on their flight over so were after something to eat, whereas I just needed something cold to drink! I had a great strawberry and vanilla milkshake, which went down a treat, served up in a silver mixer which kept it cool. The parent's eggs benedict and toast & jam both looked tasty and sorted them out for the morning. Inside had a great relaxed atmosphere (though it was 10am so not a great representation of the rest of the day!) and a slightly grungy feel, which I wasn't expecting. This place is a good place to hang out during the quieter nights of the week when they have live music on offer. I have seen some pretty good talent here over the past year. If you like live music and a nice relaxing atmosphere to relax after a day of work, I recommend this place. However, this place gets packed on Friday nights and the noise from Home Club next door gets too much (yes - I am getting old). Drinks are a little pricey but then again you are in Cockle Bay. The bathrooms at Tokio are at the end of a cramped journey upstairs through an industrial themed metal walkway, an inattentive customer might completely miss them. However, the glaring yellow "caution: wet" sign clues the user into what they are in for. The twisting architecture continues through into the men's room, where the terminating vista of the entrance is a sad corner containing the only wash basin, clearly added as an afterthought - though the bin adjacent at least matched in style. Turning to the left, one finds the urinals. Packed too closely to be used simultaneously, they are obviously intended to be redundant systems rather than increasing in capacity. They look like the disposal chutes for rejected abattoir cuttings, rather than something I want my genitals near, but no accounting for taste. Turning again right, there is a mysterious alcove separating the adventuring bathroom user from the singular ceramic throne room. It appears to be a rough attempt to expand the women's room into some of the men's territory, leaving a mystery as to where the original dimensions of the room lie. The throne room itself is adequate, with only a singular (though poorly formed) work of graffiti on the door. Overall, cleanliness was mixed, but not unacceptable. The only gross transgression is the thin veneer of suspiciously clear water... Everywhere. Like it was cleaned with a hose. As always, we are left with the implication. read more

I'm a bit torn with this one.. Happy hour is great - $5 glass of wine, how can you go wrong ?! But the service ... Never have I had the unpleasure of being served by the rudest, moodiest and seemingly arrogant bartender in all my years of drinking in bars. Barely made eye contact when speaking to us,barely even responded with words, just a grunt here and there. Service with a smile? Certainly not here. Went here for Breakfast on a Sunday morning. We both had the eggs benedict on ciabatta which was tasty, hollandaise was delicious. Mocha was a little average. It was about 10-15 minutes before our server took our order. About 10 minutes into the meal, the server asked us if we wanted any more food or drinks as they were about to do a shift change and the new server couldn't take our orders. Stopped in for lunch on a quiet day, unfortunately the service was slow and my steak was over cooked. I ordered a medium rare steak the was more like well done when received. Tokio Hotel - On 17/12/11 my girlfriend and I went to this bar to have dinner, have a drink and watch the 9pm fireworks at Darling Harbour. Unfortunately, it was a terrible night due to the fact that my girlfriend's handbag was stolen from our table whilst we were having dinner. When I approached the manager, he simply brushed me off saying it wasn't his responsibility and that it wasn't the first time it had happened there whilst people were watching the fireworks. I asked him if we were going to ask the security guards to search the premises for my partner's bag but he said that if I wanted I could call the police as he wouldn't, and the best thing was to just take better care next time. I guess as a patron to the bar/restaurant we all believe that at least, the management of the hotel would warn customers of this common criminal practice in their premises and when something like this happened they would take appropriate action straightaway, like calling the cops, conducting a search and make you feel like you mean something to them. No one goes out for drinks or dinner only, customers are there for the experience, and the customer service from this establishment was simply revolting and irresponsible. From their attitude I guess it will not be the last time it happens, as management are not making any effort to ensure it is resolved/controlled and that patrons are advised of this criminal practice at their premises. I strongly recommend to anyone reading this review to take your business elsewhere, where there is a manager who actually thinks you deserve their time and attention, especially when something of this nature occurs. Revolting!!!! Shame on you Tokio Hotel!!! I will never be coming back and will keep telling this tale to everyone I know. It's all true and we deserve much better than this!! read more
